I have with an increasing degree of concern seen that lighthearted threads are being derailed by people failing to understand what the word ‘lighthearted’ means.

This is a thread where any attempt to make serious discussion about anything will be reported to the highest authorities.

I’ll go first.

I really need a cup of coffee before I fall asleep. Maybe two cups. Also I want to put a couple of miles between me and my boss.

Now you go!

Seeing as I am guilty of derailing my own light-hearted threads with my own serious posts...

You might as well just get it over with and report me now.:ROFL::ROFL:

Actually, I just want to see who the highest authorities here really are, so I'm obviously going to try to entice you to report me either way. :devilish::cool::alien:

Hmm...

Lynx has a backup vehicle, and YOU have a backup vehicle...

So between the two of you, how many miles do you think you could put between you and your boss? :D

I’ll have to report you for being serious first. The rules are simple. No serious business. Hmmm…to whom do I report this?😂😇🤣

I'm sorry, Susanna, but:

Instructions not clear: Now making a very serious post about seriously getting reported for the most serious of grievances... :p

By the way, can I grab one of those cups of coffee you're handing out?

You might want to turn your back, because I don't think you'll want to look.

I'm planning to do THIS to it -- and things could get ugly.

This is one of those things where you may just have needed to be there... I was at my daughter's place yesterday, and we tried watching that movie about where people see the States going, Civil War. It was horrible, so after a while we decided to watch the mysterious sci fi Ad Astra with Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, and Donald Sutherland, the latter of whom had passed away last month (R.I.P.), and whom we talked about a bit, being that he'd had a fairly long career and was relatively famous for a Canadian. Any who, my daughter watches movies with her face in her phone, so I can never tell how interested she is in something, but she claimed to be following it, even though she went out to pick up pizza for dinner without even pausing the movie. LOL. She was not gone long. At one point I said, I wonder what happened to Donald Sutherland (his character had gone with Brad Pitt on a commercial flight to the moon, and that was the last we saw of him in the movie). But my daughter thought we were back to talking about real-life Donald Sutherland. So when I said, I wonder what happened to DS, she said, I don't know! And then I said, I know he went into emergency surgery, and my daughter responded, oh, did he? And I was like, yeah, right after they got to Mars, and my daughter was flummoxed, and then we were laughing our heads off about the misunderstanding... over and over and over again. She even messaged me at work today: I wonder what happened to Donald Sutherland? We are still laughing about it...

Well if my backup vehicle leaves West Tennessee at 2pm CST heading west at 85 miles an hour, one of Susanna's vehicles leaves Washington (state) at 1pm pacific time heading southeast at 105 miles an hour (women drivers y'know) and her other backup vehicle leaves California like a bat outta heck at high noon...

At what time will they all meet for coffee the next day in Kansas?

Calling them back-up vehicles makes it sound like they only drive in reverse. .:giggle:

That's why they are driving so fast. They need to go fast enough to have a few wrecks and still get there on time.

Oh man.

I was TERRIBLE at these kinds of math questions in school.

I can see a big fat "F" written across my paper already...

How is this even useful other than to show off your skill in intercepting missiles?!

Yeah, it's not like they'd actually teach us something USEFUL in school, like how to do your own taxes or come up with a budget.

Heaven forbid Americans could learn to manage their own money!

I chose Government for my AP elective rather than Economics, but I agree that Economics should've been a requirement rather than an elective for "avdanced placement," as it would've been helpful for a more 'basic' placement in the community in general. If only they'd made it sound more appealing to the typical high school junior calling it something more like, "mo' money,"

I don’t think my backup vehicles will ever hit 105.

I guess the distance I could put between me and my boss roughly would be in the proximity of 50 mph outside of the city driving my backup vehicles.
