This is one of those things where you may just have needed to be there... I was at my daughter's place yesterday, and we tried watching that movie about where people see the States going, Civil War. It was horrible, so after a while we decided to watch the mysterious sci fi Ad Astra with Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, and Donald Sutherland, the latter of whom had passed away last month (R.I.P.), and whom we talked about a bit, being that he'd had a fairly long career and was relatively famous for a Canadian. Any who, my daughter watches movies with her face in her phone, so I can never tell how interested she is in something, but she claimed to be following it, even though she went out to pick up pizza for dinner without even pausing the movie. LOL. She was not gone long. At one point I said, I wonder what happened to Donald Sutherland (his character had gone with Brad Pitt on a commercial flight to the moon, and that was the last we saw of him in the movie). But my daughter thought we were back to talking about real-life Donald Sutherland. So when I said, I wonder what happened to DS, she said, I don't know! And then I said, I know he went into emergency surgery, and my daughter responded, oh, did he? And I was like, yeah, right after they got to Mars, and my daughter was flummoxed, and then we were laughing our heads off about the misunderstanding... over and over and over again. She even messaged me at work today: I wonder what happened to Donald Sutherland? We are still laughing about it...
