It's funny how you mention risky behavior. I think of how God kept us in all our travel. We went to so many places we had never been. Pulled up to the church and stayed there over night. No protection, just a big German Shepard who's name was Zorro. lol

I'm sure I probably have been in the part of Ontario you're from. I never made it out west though. I have always wanted to see that part of our country. People have said it is beautiful. It's on my bucket list for sure!

I remember reading a lot on Carm. I read a lot on apologetics also. That was before I heard of Josh Mc Dowell or Lee Strobel. I have several of Lee's books. I agree with you about talking to unbelievers and engaging with people about faith. It really does cause you to dig into the Word and know what you believe and why you believe it. My cousin is an atheist. He won't speak to me now, but I had given him Lee's books. I hope he still has them and pray one day he will come back to the Lord.

Wow, I wish I could play guitar like that! Amazing! I know what you mean about a whole new world online. When I joined CC my hubby didn't want me to use my real name, he was very skeptical. I invited him to read along but he just wanted me to be safe.

I do understand your love of reading, my mother is a reader and she passed it on to me. I can't read as much as I use to, I think I probably need glasses. My pride won't let me just yet. lol Thanks for sharing about your life! I knew it would be interesting!

Alas, I also have no wisdom but what I have been granted...but I did ask Him for whatever He would grant, and the wisdom to wield the wisdom wisely lol . Every now and then one of your posts makes me do a double-take, like when you mention a purple streak in your hair or start rattling off botanical latin, lol ....I hate to break it to ya but I think we might be half twins .

Ive actually thought about this with the business God promised me and the success there in but believe it or not i would want some type of electric car mostly for the gas savings and some for the extra immediate performance gains. At first i wanted a tesla plaid a car that is 120k to buy but i dont want to be one of those people that uses what God gives for extravagance I want what were about to be about ministry first and foremost.....i used to however dream of a 65 mustang fastback but a stingray would do just fine too when i was into that.

I can't think of anything at the moment. There were many times I wasn't sure how we were going to make it through the week, but we did make it. 😊

When I was younger, I would have absolutely JUMPED at a chance like this. I would have been absolutely ecstatic! These days, I'd like to think I'm not THAT old, but I do think I've become much more realistic about my own limitations.

Nowadays, I'm very prone to motion sickness, nausea (sometimes brought on by temperature changes, etc.,) and have lots of sensitivities to unfamiliar foods and beverages, so unfortunately, I would have to be careful about everything. I like all forms of transportation but flying has unfortunately become such a hassle that I never look forward to it anymore (and I used to love flying.)

I think what I'd really love to do is get a big group of CC friends together and go on one of those world cruises, though I don't think I could last 3 years, as some of them advertise. But from what I've read, if you want, you can hop off the ship, go and do your own thing, then meet back up with it at another port. I like the idea of a ship because I wouldn't have to worry about hauling my luggage around to a new hotel every couple of weeks. Though I do love hotels, even though every room is pretty much the same thing.

Hmm. Maybe friends who got bored could swap rooms every few weeks after they were cleaned. I've seen some videos and there seems to be some interesting variety (views, setups, etc.) in the available cabins.

The best part for me would be hearing about the places people wanted to go and exploring them together. I'm pretty flexible about what I'd be interested in, and someone else's excitement would have a big influence on my choices.

And how fun would it be for everyone to be able to do their own thing on board, but still hang out whenever we want to! I love the idea of spending a day in my room, just reading and writing -- but then going to some amazing place the next day with friends.

It would truly be an introverts-who-occasionally-masquerades-as-an-extrovert's dream!

I can think of several questions I could ask people, but it would only be after spending hours, days, maybe even weeks of researching posts to try to make sure I had the information straight before I asked.

The fact that you can remember, organize, and ask so many people so many questions that are spot-on about their lives is AMAZING.

Like @RodB651 I can't think of a particular incident of such. But I've seldom come to a point of screaming. But humor and wit are always good tools in any relationship. What I did find is that letting kids express things in their own language is important.
We would eat dinner together usually 5 nights a week and would read through the Bible. After reading a passage, I would let them take turns telling the story in their own words. Their renditions of the account could be quite humorous. Some would even include voices for characters. It was a fun way to learn.

@Snackersmom That's easy. Cashew juice. I never knew cashew was a fruit. And cashew nuts are not really nuts. They are seeds that grow on the ends of cashew fruit.

I can see why cashew fruit never caught on here. Sour, faintly bitter stuff. I did not finish the jar of juice. Interesting experience though, and I learned something.

@seoulsearch -I totally get it on the flying thing...we'll just have to send you on the Seoul-train! I hear it doesn't need tracks, so you can take it anywhere you want to go .

And thanks about the observation/memory, I do have a really good social memory but I forget that it's not normal and might weird some people out lol . I'm very visual, so here on the forums where it's mostly just text my mind paints pictures/collages of the members and new details get added as I find out more about the person. For instance, @Susanna has a picture up, so I have a good idea of what she looks like. I always see her on a motorcycle, but she's never riding alone. There's 2 men accompanying her, one beside and slightly behind, and the other back in the distance a little ways. I can't see their faces but they both care about her. I think one might be Jesus and the other her late husband. And there's a rose tied to the back of her motorcycle. it's kind of tattered and frayed by the elements, but definitely still a rose.

Or people who seem to have a lot of baggage come out in their typing, I might see them with dark disapproving figures in their background, or they're just sitting in a dark room. I don't mean any of that in a "seer" sense or anything like that.... just something my brain does trying to fill in gaps and paint a clearer picture of who a person is. I'd be curious if anyone else here experiences that as well .

I have few answers for you so far. Lol

Dobosh torte is this thing that the Swiss Colony catalog made popular. Nobody around here had ever heard of it before that. Lots of really thin layers of cake with lots of really thin layers of icing between them.

Sounds like a lot of w*rk, and you'd need a stiffer cake so the 1/32nd inch layers wouldn't fall apart, and it's probably not worth the effort for a homemade one. I was just curious what your price rate would be on them.
