You are not alone in this earth mess here on earth, we all that are here are in.

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

therefore continue to believe god will show you through this trouble you are in.

see:
Even though you too are in the world, you are in. a fight too

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

IK am telling you this for your safety to get through this trouble you ar sin, deciding and wanting to be new in. God for you. Continue

Colossians 1:21-23

Authorized (King James) Version

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

You will leave things not good for you behind you, God works on one thing at a time for you to see and be new in it. Not all at one time. All at one time, seeing all problems at one time is confusion that evil loves to do to us the kids in belief to God to see this truth and remain humble in it once do it right by God showing us all by Faith alone, giving God all the credit, none to the self
Phil 3:1-4 tells me this and trust Phil 1:6 trust that God will somehow, somneway do it through you too

Actually, it is not the “Old Testament” it is the “Scriptures.” The Jews call it the “Tanahk,” which consists of the Torah, the Prophets (Nevi’im), and the Writings (Ketuvim). There are many things yet to be fulfilled in these three, so how can they be old? This is the only source available to early believers as they went forth to persuade men of Yeshua.
"And when they had appointed Paul a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Yehsua, both out of the law of Moses (Torah), and out of the prophets (Nevi’im), the Writings ((Ketuvim) from morning till evening." Acts 28:23 KJV
The same scriptures the Bereans searched when Paul and Silas shared the good news. "The brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and “searched the scriptures” daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:10,11 KJV
It is the same scriptures Yeshua said, "Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." John 5:39 KJV

In the Hebrew Bible, God tells us the story of man for the past six thousand years. If we do not understand the story, we are building upon a foundation of shifting sand.

So, I'm not really sure what I'm expecting from posting this. I recently finished reading the new testament. I decided to keep reading the bible daily and started with the old testament, but I find it so difficult to keep my desire for reading. Numbers was especially hard to force myself to read because everything felt to repetitive that I caught myself skipping more and more then backtracking to give it a proper reading. I'm on Joshua now. But my desire for reading has already been diminished. I am going to keep reading, I refuse to go a day without it now. But I'm unsure if I can bring myself to read the old testament again once I finish the whole bible.

I'm wondering if this is just something everyone goes through when they really start desiring God's word. When everyone feels that pull to read His word daily, does the desire for the old testament grow more and more as time goes on? Or am I just a horrible person that hasn't fully let God take charge of my life yet? Id this also just a pointless worry/thought that will over time fix itself? I definitely realize there are areas in my life that I'm not fully letting God take charge of. I'm so used to trying to make changes and failing, that I fall back into the trap of trying to do things myself without involving God. Then after the fact, I realize my mistake and pray. But unfortunately while expecting and trying to make changes in my mindset or the way I speak, I keep trying to force it without involving God. Tbh, I'm still kind of struggling on making God my entire focus throughout the day. Just starting a conversation causes me to completely lose track of God and I start talking like I used to and my speech is far from clean lol.

Anybody have some advice or just some words to help clarify things? I'm not sure if anything I wrote made sense to anybody, I just feel like I'm going about things wrong but I don't know how to change my approach.

Yes the end prophecies, is all that is left, as all prophecies of Jesus now fulfilled (Mat 5:17) which was predicted in the First Testament (Old). Christ as the Messiah for use to be given new life in the risen Christ, since no flesh (Romans 8:1-3) other than Son's could be perfect and is forever perfect for us to be reckoned that (Romans 6:1-12). He became perfect for us. That is why he went to that cross, to reverse the first curse against Adam the First and give us, the people new life, if we will believe it and not quit from it.

it is not Old to me (it is the First Testament to me from God, that by that fall by Adam and Eve who ate in "unbelief to God" Adam having doubt, since he saw Eve not die right away, as he was there when she ate, so he ate too in "Unbelief", not seeing her not die as thought would immediately Then, ate, then saw he was as good as dead. ran and hid.
Noting this truth, God never said God would kill Adam, God said if
Adam ate, he would die, God, did not say, when where or how long that would take, just the tif he ate from that tree, he would die. death to the flesh, has happened ever since.

noting this as well: God clothed them both and put them out of the Garden to till the ground for (to play God) themselves. Protecting the "Tree of life" by a Cherubim that then guarded the Garden of Eden, so that no one could enter in and eat from the tree of Life (otherwise if anyone did, then they would have eternal life forever as Evil), So God protected it. Until after the time of Christ the Son did what is done once for everyone to believe in and be made new in God and be freed to eat from that tree of life forever as not evil anymore.
We are born again as new by God in God's Spirit and truth, by belief to Son is risen for them to be given and then stand in that truth, not by work(s) Work is done by Son to enter now free of charge or having to do any work to be in. God Father invites us in. It is the People, (religious nuts) that kick people out. God desires Spiritual Fruit and give us that in belief to what is done as done for us to be new in love to all, in the risen Son that completes us as complete for us, the kids in belief, Son took away sin at the cross (John 1:29) Is risen where new.life is given, for us to walk new and be relieved from stress over having to do to be in as was before the Christ completed it
(Matthew 5:17, John 19:30, Hebrews 9:14-17, 7:11-12)

Believe God from within you, and see what God has done for you and be new in rest to stand in thanksgiving and praise, (Psalms 100:4), all sin by Son is now taken away (Hebrews 103:12) The new Heart offered as in (Ezekiel 36:26) The new heart is the risen Son, not the dead one, so many are trying to imitate, and see they can't. Then ask Father to give them the new life in his risen Son Jesus Christ
Thanks as I see you believe and are in turmoil to know truth, only God can reveal this to you, as truth
Love from God to all by Son for all

Thanks for the reply. I don't feel that I'm in turmoil, neither am I confused at all; in fact, I am at peace with Elohim more now than at any time in my life. What I see today is a lot of confusion in the Church world, the result is a great falling away. The doctrines of the Church are dead letters. As Yeshua said, "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9 KJV

I think it's worth reading the OT through once or twice just to get exposure for what is in it. It will come in handy as you focus on the NT, especially where the NT authors are making their points using OT Scriptures.
I'm wondering if this is just something everyone goes through when they really start desiring God's word.
I experienced the same thing when I first started reading the Bible in earnest 50 years ago, but I don't know what other people's experiences are.
When everyone feels that pull to read His word daily, does the desire for the old testament grow more and more as time goes on?
I would say that I am more drawn to the NT than the OT. But there are many stories in the OT that help make sense of NT teaching. So having both is invaluable.
Or am I just a horrible person that hasn't fully let God take charge of my life yet? Id this also just a pointless worry/thought that will over time fix itself? I definitely realize there are areas in my life that I'm not fully letting God take charge of. It sounds like you are a new Christian or a newly recommitted Christian. I would not focus a lot of attention on not being everything you think you should be. I would focus my attention on the fact that God is drawing you to Him and is giving you joy over the things you are learning about Him. The other things will come bit by bit.
Anybody have some advice or just some words to help clarify things? I'm not sure if anything I wrote made sense to anybody, I just feel like I'm going about things wrong but I don't know how to change my approach.
When I started reading the Bible, I started on page 1 and read through in order to the last page. After that, I read through the NT several times. If I were to do it again, I'd probably break up the OT into smaller bite-sized pieces and read one bite-sized piece of the OT after each complete read through the NT.

Hello;

This link provides fun and creative overviews of every book of the bible, including some guidance of what to consider when reading each book of the bible. It might help you understand what you are reading, why numbers is repetitive, among other key insights to the structure of the bible, and each book in the bible; Maybe it sparks a renewed outlook!

As someone in love with the Torah and Tanakh I will say this much.

Begin with the Major and Minor Prophets (Isaiah to Malachi) (they are prophesying about Jesus when He comes as the Messiah)
Then the Psalms and Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon (Inspirational Passages and Instructional)
Then Joshua until Job (History) (Job is a message for us all)
Then the Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy) (Creation, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and the Law)
Especially look at Jeremiah chapter 31

It’s a key promise in the ot that points to the new

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; ( from Sinai ) which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My friend, you are not dealing with anything everyone hasn't faced. Trust me, Numbers is a book every falls asleep reading at first.
There is great news though. The more one studies His Word, the more it becomes a part of them. You see when we make time for HaShem, the more time He gives us for that purpose. Also, as you learn more, you will find every conversation brings something to mind from His Word.

I read through the Bible and I did not worry about it being not that fun to read concerning the Old Testament but kept reading.

I like reading the Old Testament, and the only part that is not as interesting is where it speaks of the animal sacrifices, and the temple for a while, like in Leviticus, and the physical laws.

But I will say it is interesting for it is God's word, and it does not last that long Leviticus, and Numbers.

To me the Old Testament is more interesting to read than the New Testament, but the New Testament is easier to comprehend the meaning more often than the Old Testament.

The Old Testament will stump people more often than the New Testament.

But once you read through the whole Bible then you will have a bigger picture, and can see the theme of the Bible, and might have an interpretation but read ahead in the Testament, and then say that could of not been the meaning, and then have the right interpretation.

Most people go by their denomination that puts out their beliefs like a blueprint, and becomes a blueprint for the people, and if it is wrong in some things red flags do not come up because the blueprint is their foundation and they try to fit scriptures in to that.

So people will fight over doctrines that exist, and do not exist, and the interpretation of the Bible.

yep you are just a orrible person ...

but cheer up we all are but God loves us. Paul says "I know in my flesh there dwelleth no good thing" he's not joking, and Paul includes in that the mind of the flesh.

The best thing you will ever learn is to let go and let God, let God do everything. He is like a hen clucking over her chicks. He LOVES to do things for us and He can. This is allowing Him to flow in your life.

As to reading the bible and I've been reading it 45 years now, don't be religious, just read what comes to your mind to read, I've never been over fond of leviticus and repetitious parts, I often skate over them. But the psalms and prophets I have read many, many times and it is always fresh, I always see something new. I never tire of John or Paul ...

Just enjoy yourself.

“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:44-
