How could Abraham be a Jew if he was born in Iraq

It's a simple question
Abram was not born in Iraq, because Iraq did not exist when Abram was born. He was born in Ur.

Abram was not a Jew because there was no such thing as a Jew until after Abram’s great-grandson Judah was an adult.

Please go and learn what a fallacy of anachronism is.

All you need to do is study the book of Genesis and you will learn all about what you are asking. Strongs or Youngs concordances would help... as well as a good hebrew/greek dictionary.

They were a nation before they had a king. God led them.

Your question only addresses half the issue.

The rest of the question is, “Who has the responsibility to apply moral discipline?”
~~~~~
THE PARENTS for one thing. It is their responsibility to TEACH their children moral discipline. I.E. SELF CONTROL.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
I found this to support @selahsays.
She is one of few here who has shown me kindness.
The Hebrews left the Mesopotamian city of Ur and became wandering herders; in fact, the word Hebrew originally meant “wanderer” or “nomad.” Abraham had a son, Isaac, and Isaac had a son, Jacob, collectively known as the Patriarchs in the Hebrew Bible.
Ok so if it's true abram was a Hebrew then that means Ismael was a Hebrew
So why Christians say Ismael was a Muslim ?
You see buddy I never started this
I was merely pointing out that Israel was a nation before they had a king.
I think the distinction being made is that Muslim is a religious designation, and Hebrew is an ethnic designation.
While I do think God helped Ishmael in life for Abraham's sake, Ishmael is typified in scripture as an unbeliever and Isaac as the seed through which God's promises are fulfilled in Christ. I know this isn't your understanding, but what I have shared is what many others are trying to share.
We don’t. Moslems might, but they are in error.
“Hebrew” is a term denoting ethnicity, while “Muslim” is a term denoting religious adherence.
Ishmael, being Abram's son would be considered Hebrew. He and Isaac grew up together and were taught about and knew God. But after Sarai kicked them out because Ishmael laughed at Isaac, and they went on their way, God STILL guided and helped them. He had made a promise to Abram that of Ishmael would come 12 tribes; just as Isaac. He is Hebrew by birth via Abram's blood. Religion and birth lineage are two totally different things. Muslims did not come about until centuries later.
