I signed up here recently. My name is Brad, and I'm from the USA. I am 42. Last year I went to Vietnam for a month. It was my first time going to another country. Back in 2020 I met a significant lady on a dating site, but I wasn't able to go there to meet her because of covid lockdowns. I really enjoyed going there, and I will be going back this year with plans to marry her. When I was there I got a typical intestinal infection referred to as "traveler's diarrhea based off of eating the food there. They don't seem to have high standards when it comes to microbiological problems with food. Street vendors leave meat on carts without refrigeration and such. So while I was there my gf got me some honey and turmeric pellets called Viethoney, but I also have referred to her as my Viethoney.

I haven't been going to church, because I work late. I would have to get up too early and be miserable on Sunday mornings. I used to go to a dinner meeting on Thursday nights, but they haven't been happening lately. I can't find any good churches with a mid-week service now, except a big church has one only on the first Wednesday of the month. I used to worship at some churches and get into, but at new churches, I find everything too distracting. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and like studying music. All the music and instruments tend to be really distracting to me. I would say most modern worship songs are effeminate. It's all this repetitive emotional stuff set to simple music. So many churches have atrocious sound mixing. That big church I mention has it mixed to be singing and drums. There's this kind of vague haze of all the other instruments underneath that, but I have no idea what any of the players are playing. Overall it just sounds terrible.

Anyway, right now I'm seeking direction on whether I should stay in the USA or in Vietnam. I like some things about Vietnam better, but I think I need to be where the Lord wants me.

Stay in Vietnam, the cost of living is only getting worse here. As are the attitudes of the general population. Enjoy the weather and the beach bro!

Welcome, Brad! Don't know much about travelling. I am 56, have never travelled outside US, been on an airplane, or lived away from my parents old homestead for more than a year. Just me and my little Amelia now. She keeps track of the mice for me. I go to a Mennonite Church where there are no musical instruments. Just voice.
