Can someone explain to me what a soulmate is.
Is it like your twin. What if you werent born a twin?

Is it someone who can read your mind? Cos I dont know anyone who actually does that, though they can certainly read whatever I write thats on my mind if they want.

Is it someone who is a BFF? Because I dont always agree with BFFs

In the Bible, were Johnathan and David soulmates? Is it someone youve pledged to protect for the rest of your life?
Where does Jesus fit in with this soulmate thing or is He just someone extra.

A soulmate is a person you meet who you, in your mind, lock eyes/spirits with at once. While you're talking you feel an instant fusion almost a feeling of being one. I'm talking mainly Christians here but I've seen it with secular couples a la Bogie & Bacall. Just watch them in a movie together and you'll see their chemistry on screen. The couple who founded TBN both felt a prompting to start a Christian TV network, and almost every Pastor and wife I know are soulmates. I think it can also be developed when 2 Christians marry and become one, so to speak, in their desire to live for the Lord together💕

The concept / word Soulmate is not in the Holy Bible..

David and Johnathan where very close but neither of them had the ability to read each others minds.. They where not gods.. Yeah God can read our minds He knows our every thought..

The concept of a soulmate is very much a human created delusional concept based on a fantasy of people who want a God like perfect partner.. People who are ensnared by this concept will overlook a decent partner prospect because they are always waiting for that perfect Soulmate to come along and make all their dreams come true.. The truth is,, decent long term partners do not come around every day.. There is a limited number of opportunities for people to meet and marry decent partners.. So many of those people who hold onto the delusion of getting a soulmate will end up rejecting all the decent people they have the opportunity to be with.. They end up being alone for the rest of their lives because they dug their heels in and refused to accept anything less then their ideal imagined partner..

I think Jesus would be our spirit mate.

Soulmate is a term that is thrown around with a different degree of meanings.
For myself (and I believe there were two) it was like everything clicked and you felt like you knew that person all your life... Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstance's ....neither of those trains left the station ...but the both are an unforgettable memory.

Bogie was an alcoholic...when he died, Bacall was bereft and couldnt function

The chemistry may have been the alcohol and cigarettes....

So what have you learned form this topic during your time here in other topics?
I haven't seen it mentioned but it's also true that i don't pay attention to much of the topics in this section of the forum.

i have the feeling you know what a soulmate is. it is this: someone you can tell anything to with trust & not even have to ask that person not to tell anyone. also, someone you can ask advice, tell secrets, & be there when you need assistance.
