None of that contradicts obedience to the 10 Commandments, God's Law written in Stone.
It does because all the law including those were nailed to the cross.

Why would Jesus spend His entire life modeling a wrong way of living for all His beloved followers to come?
Because his entire life was governed by the first covenant while when he died that covenant also died, and the new covenant would rule.

Correct.

The 10 Commandments are still to be kept by all who love the God of the Bible and Jesus Christ.

Feel free to attempt to prove any of these wrong using Scripture:

1. Jesus taught the 10 Commandments.
2. Jesus obeyed the 10 Commandments.
3. Jesus' followers obeyed them after the Crucifixion.
Since the commandments are all God's WILL, then they're essentially eternal.

where did i say to FOLLOW the LAW?
you attacked me over something i never said, that you thought i said?
like i said, you got nothing to offer!
This would be interesting here, but, i will give the benefit of the doubt

This began when i posted Matthew 28:18-20 [the Great Commission Jesus Commanded to GO Preach/Make Disciples/Baptize]

so, DID SOMEONE, think those Commands in Matthew 28 relate to the LAW?

funniest thing i understood all day from this Thread!

...and i looked, those attacks are quoted and DO actually relate to Matthew 28:18-20 comments I made

i have never seen anyone think that before...

But, ... the Law that Christ created and taught and obeyed was the 10 Commandments. That would logically be His Law.

And how do you interpret Jesus saying that those who teach and obey the 10 Commandments are greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?
Matt. 5:19?

How do you interpret the next verse that says that we must be more righteous than those who teach the 10 Commandments but don't keep them?
Matt. 5:20?

How should we understand those teachings of Christ?
how do you understand salvation?

how do you understand the differences between the law given through Moses and the work of Christ which He said, while on the cross, 'IT IS FINISHED'

The 10 Commandments are now, and always will be, applicable to all professed Christians and they are quite literally the very foundation of the Christian Faith.
The 10 Commandments are the Stone foundation of the Christian Faith.
The foundation of the Christian faith is the Apostles and Prophets; with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. Of most imporatance, the gospel is faith in Jesus- and the 10 commandments will get you nowhere without faith.

I'm definitely not saying don't follow the commandments; but "foundation" is a strong word.

Are there any New Testament works from Jesus Christ which are absolutely unnecessary and, if so, which ones? ;)

We are not under the Law for obeying the 10 Commandments.

For a certainty, you won't produce Scripture that says that.
i think if we examome ourselves not one of us kept "do not covet" today just as one example.

so i thank God that for His grace, that His salvation is by His mercy, according to faith, and that He gives me life by promise, not by keeping the marriage covenant with the nation Israel.

Yes, he sure did.

Everywhere he went.

When you see verses speaking of Paul, and others, teaching "the Word", they are teaching exactly what Christ taught. Not only is Jesus referred to as "the Word", but the 10 Commandments themselves are referred to as the "Ten Words" in Exodus 34:28 in the KJV and in the Hebrew for that verse.

All the apostles taught the 10 Commandments just as Jesus did. Why would they teach something different?

And Paul was called a "Keeper of the Law" in Acts 21:24.
Braweh , there is evidence in ACTS ther OAul was against the teachings of the law;

Act 21:20 And when they heard it,they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
Act 21:21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

Paul did not teach the law according to scripture mentioned above however JESUS asks us to follow the law and his teachings, it is clearly written.

THe jews also got him arrested because he was against the law, it it clear in scripture below;
Paul Arrested in the Temple
Act 21:27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
Act 21:28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
Act 21:29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
Act 21:30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
Act 21:31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

Nothing will pass away from God's Law, the 10 Commandments.
i don't think you understand what "the Law" is.

for example in James 2:9-10 scripture refers to Leviticus 19:15 saying that if you break any part of the Law you are guilty of all of it.

so when you delete all of Moses except the decalogue, you are heading straight for a very deep ditch with Matthew 5:19-20.

[Jesus'] entire life was governed by the first covenant while when he died that covenant also died, and the new covenant would rule.
That's amazing.

I wonder why He never taught His followers that the 10 Commandments ended when He died.

Almost Heaven West Virginia
2 Peter 1

"For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. "

A few points come to mind concerning this subject of stone tablets.

A. God spake unto Moses face to face as a man speaketh to his friend.
I often desire to have that same fellowship with God. Perhaps someday we too will become such good friends.

B. Moses was honored to be the one person upon the earth and throughput history to be entrusted those stone tablets written upon with the finger of God..

C. The first person to break those commandments was who?
The most humble man alive....Moses.

D. We no longer have the stone tablets or the ark of the covenant that contained them.

E. We have a MORE SURE WORD..
Our written, completed collection of God's Word , the Bible, is called more sure than even the very spoken words to Moses and later to His apostles at the transfiguration..
God not only inspired them, but supernaturally preserved and completed them.

F. One may think that the 10 commandments were sacred because they were written with the finger of God.
That is correct.
However, our Bible written upon paper and in a book is no less sacred.

E. We must've beware lest any man spoil us through philosophy and vain deceit after the rudiments of the world, after the traditions of men and not after Christ.
Colossians 2:8
That tells me that even the modern prophets like Ellen White (link) are not holy men of old to whom God inspired. Why do I point out Ellen G. White? An Adventist family who I care about are calling while I write this post. Perhaps the Lord is wanting someone else to have the opportunity to learn a Bible truth that they might not be aware of? I don't know, but hope this outline is helpful to others as I go to return the call.

Happy Thanksgiving a few days early.

how do you understand salvation?
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works.
Eph. 2:8-9
how do you understand the differences between the law given through Moses and the work of Christ which He said, while on the cross, 'IT IS FINISHED'
Christ's work was finished.

He blazed a spiritual pathway for His sheep to follow and be saved from imminent death/destruction of all mankind due to original sin. He broke the curse of death for all who would follow His way.

Those who don't follow His way will be judged very harshly, some worse than others.

Matt. 7:21-23 showcases those who believed in, and believed they were following, Christ, but were not obeying the 10 Commandments. That's why Christ called them workers of iniquity. Iniquity is sin, sin is the breaking of the 10 Commandments (1 Jn. 3:4). A worker of iniquity is someone who works sin (kneads leven) into the surrounding society (into the whole lump of dough) by their living example of daily habitual sin.

Christ's work of creating a path for all who would follow is finished. There was no such path before His death as He was the perfect sinless sacrifice which ultimately defeated death, but all things have not yet come to pass. Upon His return, all the world will be judged and those who are found worthy will not be rejected and will be saved. The dead "in Christ" will rise first and then those who are alive and remain.

What does it mean?

Why the scary skeleton?
Colossians 3:3, for example.

is it really so scary?
our entire religion centers around the death and resurrection of Christ.

it reminds me i have passed from death into life through faith, and that because i believe, i will never die - that even if i die, i will live.
that through dying with Him i am set free to live with Him.
