For the lost, it is appointed unto an once to die and after this the judgement. For those, they were already condemned for trusting in their works. John 3:18
Next they die and go straight to hell, while the saved go to Heaven.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. "
Luke 23
We see that the saved beggar was greeted with a hug from Abraham.
The lost man was greeted by flame of 🔥 fire.
There's no reassignments except that those who trust in any of their good works will be judged according to those works. The condemnation is settled. Further sentencing hearing is scheduled.
"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.."
Revelation 21:8
Following the tribulation, after Christ is finished pouring out His wrath, He will conquer Satan and his armies and they go into perdition.
Then God's will in Heaven will be done on Earth when it descends. That will be the New Jerusalem from which Jesus will rule with His rod of iron. Believers will be appointed to areas of service in the new kingdom.
This will not be any kind of reincarnation based upon karma, obedience to the laws, sacraments, etc as the Mormons and eastern religions want us to believe. They are believers in their own good works, so they are condemned.

However, the afterlife we are prepared a body of glory and this is how we get that if the Object of our faith is not our works but rather....
