Perhaps were you to read Isaiah 9;6, it will give your faith and understanding a great leap.

For me this is not a doctrine, rather, by faith given, it is simply the truth.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

You willl understand that Jesus is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, for God's prophet, Isaiah, was given to teach this.
I'm asking for clarity by you saying the following: "You will understand that Jesus is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, for God's prophet, Isaiah, was given to teach this.[/QUOTE]" If you believe Isaiah 9:6 is teaching this then you are teaching "Modalism." This means that Jesus Christ is all three persons of the trinity. He's the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. There is no distinction of persons, Jesus is all of them.

IN GOD THE SON,

Some people believe that Thomas directed the following statement at to or for or toward Jesus. That very well may be true. Thomas calling Jesus Lord and God.

John 20:28 NASB20 - Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
"Some people believe that Thomas directed that statement to Jesus cause the text says "Thomas answred and said to Him(being Jesus Christ who hes talking to and answering to) my Lord and my God

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
By faith, Isaiah has been given this teaching for all to simply believe because he is a prophet of our Father Eternal, Jesus.

I don't believe in two God's that are equal so you are correct.
The Christian understanding of trinity is not that there are 3 Gods.
The Christian understanding of the Bible is that there is ONE GOD, who exists in 3 PERSONS.
One God, existing as Three Persons.

This trinity is simply what we find in scripture, if we honestly look, with a willingness to accept whatever it teaches:
- If we go to scripture with preconceived ideas, then it does not reveal itself to us... it will say things we will refuse to hear.
- But if we go to scripture with a willingness to accept whatever it says, and a willingness to really study the passages, then we're using the proper method of Biblical study.

The Trinity - How it Can Be:
1.) We can talk about what a person is, and how a single God could exist as 3 persons.
2.) However, the infinite creator of the universe is not a being we can fully comprehend, and we should not expect that we can.
3.) The infinite God of the universe is not like you or me, and we should not expect him to be.
4.) This idea of 3 persons existing as one God is indeed strange, but it is what scripture teaches, and therefore it's what orthodox Christians have believed for a very long time.
5.) You aren't the first person to question this, or ponder this - for thousands of years the greatest human minds have studied the scripture, written books on this, read each other's books, discussed this, and reflected on it endlessly. There are countless books written on this. The scriptures on this topic have been thoroughly studied, for millennia, by all Christians, from laymen to the greatest scholars. And... this is what all orthodox Christians have come to believe as the correct understanding of scripture.

I accept the Deity of Christ. Remember Colossians 2:9 NASB. I don't believe that Jesus is the Father, God.
Well there you go. Trinitarians dont teach Jesus is the Father. Thats a modalism / Oneness pentecostal doctrine. (And quite frankly, they only have two proof texts, John 14:9 and Isaiah 9:6)

Trinitarians believe in the deity of Christ as do you, they believe Jesus is the SON of God the Father.

The language is a bit sloppy in english, but when Christians say "Jesus is God" they dont mean "Jesus is the Father"
Instead they mean "Jesus has the same nature as the Father, same essence" Jesus is divine, just as is the Father.

Jacob,
what does it mean, to You, to read: Jesus has the ["Complete ""Godhead"" in Him"]?

what does Godhead mean to You?

does it mean Father-WORD/Son-Holy Spirit?
does it mean whatever God is, that is the completeness of God?
does it mean something else?

the ones i am related to, they believe, God is God and God is One. but He is Known to us "visibly" by Jesus Christ, who is God! God is also Our Heavenly Father, Who is Spirit, and known to us by Jesus Christ.

they use the Old Testament term: the Messiah is the ROOT, the VINE, the DOOR, etc...but, He is the RIGHT ARM/HAND of God.

So, it's God is Spirit, reaching down with His Right Arm, Who, reflects God in every imaginable way and is SAME ESSENCE but Visible to us.

Reading Isaiah 9:6 we understand that Jesus will be called by the Father Eternal, Almighty God, Wonderful, Councelor, Ruler of peace. This says they are One to me,. The mystery is first exposed to us when God told Moses He would be called Yahweh, that He would be What He would be. It does not explain it all.s.. tjat wpi;d tale [pssessing the gift of faith. Sorry for the typos.

Hi Jacob. I hope this will help you in understanding.
Oneness
John 10: 30,38 I and my Father are One. But if I do (the works of my Father), though ye believe not me, believe the works, that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. Eph 2: 18 For through Him we both have access by One Spirit unto the Father. Eph 4: 4-6 There is One body (the body of Christ), and One Spirit (the Spirit of the Father), even (that is) as ye are called in One hope of your calling (given to those called); One Lord (Christ), One faith (believing and trusting in Christ), One baptism (in the name of the Father because He chooses by granting repentance), One God and Father of all (including Jesus Christ), who is above all (including Christ), and through all (because our reality is in the mind of the Father), and in you all (when we receive the Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son). John 17: 20-24 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also who shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be One , as thou, Father, as Thou art in me, and I in Thee, that they also, may be One in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory (Holy Spirit of the Father), which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be One, even (that is) as we are One; I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17: 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name (Baptism in the name of the Father) those whom thou hast given me (the Father chooses) , that they may be one, as we are. John 8: 29 And He that sent me is with me (because the Son is filled with the Father's Holy Spirit which in Isaiah 63: 9-10 is referred to as the "angel of His presence". Where the Holy Spirit is, the Father is). That Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please Him. The Father communicates, empowers, and speaks through those who are indwelled with His Spirit.
John 14: 6-9 Philip saith unto Him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
No one comes to the Father but by Jesus as a member of His body. Jesus is so full of the Father's Spirit that the Father talks to Philip directly.
John 12: 49-50 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak, therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
In these verses Jesus is explaining that the words that He speaks are not His but belong to the Father. Throughout the Bible people who received the Father's Holy Spirit were able to communicate with Him. They would then relay His message to the people. These people are called prophets. Jesus was explaining that He was a prophet of the Father and obeying the Father's Spirit means eternal life.
John 3: 34-35 For He whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God; for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto Him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand.
John 14: 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's, who sent me. Christ is Lord of all creation and all creation is created for Him by His Father (the invisible God). Christ is our Lord, Savior, and God, but the Father is the Father and God of all (including Jesus Christ).
John 14: 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

You are greatly mistaken. I did look up the verse, which may be different from the Hebrew text.

Isaiah 9:6 NASB20 - For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

God is the Father, Jesus is the Son.

Hello again Jacob, what is it that you believe in then, in specific regard to the Son and the Holy Spirit? Who do you believe that they are/what kind of beings or Beings are they (both individually, as well as in relation to the Father)

Here, for instance, are all Three Persons/Members of the Godhead together and interacting with one another.
Mark 1
9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 Immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him;
11 and a voice came out of the heavens: “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.”
12 Immediately the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the wilderness.
13 And He was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels were ministering to Him.
Thanks :)

--David
p.s. - the Lord Jesus told us to baptize new believers in the "name" of God, in His (singular) Name in this case is, which is:
"the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit".
Matthew 28
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the 'name' of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I feel that you are making things up. You say that there is a Godhead, but the word is not used. Also, that Jesus said to baptize in the name of God, but He did not. I am not arguing with the verses, just with you.

The Father is God, Jesus' Father and the Father of all living though in a different way.

Jesus is the Son of God. The Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit may be God as God is Spirit. I don't know for certain if I am confusing terms and what they refer to. That is where I stand for now.

If you gave your son the name, God is great, that would not mean that he is God, correct?

Does anyone believe that Jesus emptied Himself of His Godhood or Deity?
Jesus emptied Himself in the context of Kenosis. Willful submission to rely on the Holy Spirit as he was in the flesh, which is limited. Jesus was not Omnipresent in the flesh. The Spirit of Christ willfully step down into the Flesh of the person Jesus, who is fully God and fully man. This is the price God paid to redeem us. Jesus' Body is an Eternal one. A Glorified Body. In his earthly state of being, he was tired and hungry and was also thirsty. Yet he knew all things and had the Power of God without Measure. He controlled the weather and seas. God had to step out of His Attributes willfully experience our Sin , Pain and punishment

Thank you for your long thoughtful post. Though I accept the scriptures I cannot accept your interpretations.

No, Jacob. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (the Trinity) is God.
