I do want to be saved by God and Jesus, but I am not sure that it is by the new covenant.

Is there a difference between being saved and salvation, and the new covenant?

I believe that I am saved, and if I am, perhaps not by the new covenant, since it is for Israel and I am a Gentile.
It sounds to me reading this that you are very confused about the New Covenant and whether you yourself are saved or not --you contradict yourself here to by saying this ------I believe that I am saved, and if I am ------

Your either Saved or your not ----there is no IF I am ------because If I am -----says your not ------

If your a Gentile your Salvation comes under the New Covenant of Grace -------Israel rejected Jesus as their Lord and Saviour ---so while some Jews have received Jesus in their hearts many have not ------and right now are doomed to Hell -----

Scripture tells us that you need to be drawn by the Father to come to Jesus ------so no one comes to Jesus on their own power ----our hearts are hardened and our soul veiled -----God has to change the hardened heart to a Softened heart so it accepts His calling ------we have a right to accept His call or reject it --that is our free will ------

this world draw in the Greek

Lexicon
helkó: to drag
Short Definition: I drag, draw, pull, persuade
Definition: I drag, draw, pull, persuade, unsheathe.

metaphorically, to draw by inward power, lead, impel:

Scripture tells you that the Right Faith is needed to be saved ----or even please God ------So your right faith comes from hearing the Word -----Repentance is needed -----that is ----you have a mind change about sin and realize your a sinner and need a Saviour to take away your sins ------

The scripture tells you how you get saved ------so your confessing your Faith by speaking it out loud --and this believe is not just a flimsy belief ----it is more than that -- -----

Romans 10:9-10

Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

---So hope you adhere to and trust in this Scripture and do as it says ------

then you will know your Saved for sure ------:)

Thank you for your kind thoughtful words.

I think that I was five years old when I accepted Jesus into my heart. I heard nothing of a new covenant, and I came to understand that though I believe myself to be saved this was not found in the Bible.

God can reveal all kinds of things to the world. But God chose to reveal a new covenant with Israel through the prophet Jeremiah.
Sure. And when the Jews rejected Christ, God invited the Gentiles to the same covenant. That's what the parable of the wedding feast depicts. Those who were invited didn't show. So servants were sent to remind them. They still didn't show. So the servants went to the highways and byways to compel others who were not initially invited.

You believe that this is Gentiles?

Yes. It coincides with Paul's teaching of the Jews being blinded that the Gentiles could come or be engrafted in.
I am not sure what to make of that. It does not make sense.

There is a new covenant for Israel.

There is salvation for Israel.

There is salvation for the Gentiles.

Is the new covenant for Gentiles?

How do you believe Jews under the new covenant differ from saved Gentiles?

Gentiles are not Israel. But Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. This is different from the prophesied covenant that God would make with the people and nation of Israel, in Jesus.
How?

According to the Bible. I don't know what more I can say.
Where in the Bible? I made the distinction between physical and spiritual Israel. Those who are of the people of God are spiritually linked to God in Christ. This has always been the case. A Jew is not one outwardly, but inwardly.
You believe the covenant is to a particular physical people. I believe it came through a physical people, but is for a spiritual people. That's why we see some Jews but not all experiencing the promises of the covenant, but every spiritual Jew receiving the promises.

I am saying that I want salvation but I am a Gentile and that salvation is not found in the new covenant God made with Israel through Jesus. I do not consider myself to be a spiritual Jew.

From another thread I am starting a thread at a suggestion to do so.

. . .

I hope this will be helpful. The old covenant was inferior to the new covenant since it was only temporary, as may be shown through comparison. Old Testament laws produced condemnation and could not save anyone since no one was able to keep the laws perfectly. By accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior under the new covenant, we can experience a new birth and be saved for all time. This new covenant was established by Jesus Christ’s death on the cross. It is by His precious blood that we are saved, and this salvation is forEVER (eternal life).

I see a difference between salvation in Jesus dying for me and the new covenant God made with Israel, since I am a Gentile.

Also, I wonder about what you are saying about the old covenant being temporary? Why do we or people say that or this, knowing that the covenant is spoken of as being eternal?

You can only be saved by the blood of Christ. The new covenant is in his blood.

Romans9:6b-8

A man is a Jew because he is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.
