I don't see the connection between the new covenant and salvation. The new covenant is for Israel. But I am a Gentile. And, it is possible for Gentiles to be saved? Am I missing anything?
The covenant is in His blood. Salvation is only possible through His blood.

Yes. But Jeremiah spoke of a new covenant for Israel.

I believe that I am saved because salvation is for Gentiles too. Or rather, because salvation is also for Gentiles. I don't know if the new covenant is about salvation.

Hebrews 9:22 Leviticus 17:11
:)
Leviticus 17:11 NASB20 - 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.'

Hebrews 9:22 NASB20 - And almost all things are cleansed with blood, according to the Law, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The OT doesn't limit it to Israel; only specifies Israel. Other figures such as Rahab and Ruth prefigure a covenant to all people.

Jeremiah 31:33 NASB20 - "For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD: "I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

So...who is...the house of Israel...and who is...My people?

Descendants of Israel. I am a Gentile. I am not a descendant of Israel.
This is why it is important to understand that God has progressively given more revelation over time. It is also important to understand that the physical manifestation of something is designed to reveal spiritual reality.
In the NT, God reveals through Paul that there is a physical Israel and a spiritual Israel, and that not all Israeli descendants are included in the Israel of God. The Israel of God is those who throughout history who have been joined to God through Christ.

That is an interesting idea but it is not the people or nation of Israel. Also, Israelis are those of Israel who were born in Israel.

I may or may not be a part of an Israel of God. It may be the remnant of Israel.

Fair enough. I was just trying to employ your terminology. We can use the term Jew. Romans 2:28-29...teaches that it not the one who is Jewish outwardly, but inwardly that God has in mind. Thus, lineage and custom doesn't make one a Jew, but relationship to Christ and circumcision of the heart do.

But does this involve Gentiles?

Jeremiah doesn't limit the group, but specifies a particular group. It doesn't mean it can't also apply to others.
In Jeremiah's time. God was dealing almost exclusively with the Jews. And He chooses to reveal as He does. But it was always God's plan to fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory. We can understand this from the creation mandate. What and when God chooses to reveal these things is in His purview.

God can reveal all kinds of things to the world. But God chose to reveal a new covenant with Israel through the prophet Jeremiah.
