so, Lot, refusing to go to the mountains as he was explicitly commanded. saying he would die, as though God was unable, as though God's plan was stupid, pleading to go instead to one of the wicked cities of the plain that was destined for destruction instead, like God had made a mistake and Lot knew better than God.....
Explain.
why is this man not immediately struck dead
Is God capricious
“so, Lot, refusing to go to the mountains as he was explicitly commanded. saying he would die, “
He didint refuse any commandment of God he was afraid he would t make it and the city was closer so he asked God because avid had already brought them out by grace he asked him in that moment of grace “ the little town is closer can you spare tbat town so I can go there instead ? And then through the angel the
lord agreed with what he asked and said he would spare the City
“as though God was unable, as though God's plan was stupid, pleading to go instead to one of the wicked cities of the plain that was destined for destruction instead, like God had made a mistake and Lot knew better than God.....”
i can’t explain any of that because it’s something your inferring I’m just talking about what the Bible says happened
This doesn’t say anything like what you’ve described there there’s no saying gods plan is stupid here or lot refusing his command in rebellion so I’m not going to be able to explain that part and the rest doesn’t need anyone to explain it
“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that
he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life;( he already is acknowledging Gods merciful plan that saved his life )
and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: ( I Cant make it I’m afraid )
behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
( lot is pleading with him to spare the closer tiny town so he can go there because it’s closer and he thinks he can make it safely and God accepts his plea and saves the town and he goes there instead
at the direction of the angel
And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
But
his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”
Genesis 19:17-26 KJV
What I was getting at is that she was also spared initially by grace with lot and his daughters but she broke The warning that said “ don’t stay here or look back or you’ll share in its destruction “ she looked back and was the only one who never survived
so she must have actually been condemned through not heeding the warning what I was saying is this did condemn her
“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said,
Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.”
Genesis 19:17 KJV
She did what he said not to do or else she would share in its destruction lot and his daughters didn’t theybhesded for the town they we’re told to go to
His wife actually seems to be condemned was the point
