John 21:22 Context
19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. 20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? 21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. 23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? 24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. 25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

In discussion concerning the identity of John the Revelator in relation to John the Apostle, the Church historian of Caesaria, Eusebius, who takes the posiiton that distinguishes two John's, wrote, "This shows that the statement of those is true, who say that there were two persons in Asia that bore the same name, and that there were two tombs in Ephesus, each of which, even to the present day, is called John's."

sometimes it takes a lot of words to make a point -- it's a balancing act; if you don't go through the argument and make the quotes, no one will believe you for lack of persuasion and evidence. but if you do, no one will read it because it's more than a paragraph or two.
@Pilgrimshope made the same argument earlier in the thread, more briefly, but because his posts are often long they are also often skipped - no matter how worth reading they actually are

Yeah I lack the skills to shorten what I’m trying to say it’s always seemed strange I mean the demand to say something in a couple sentences because the Bible is a big huge book that’s very convincing because it’s so repetetive and these so many details on each subject that change the meaning and contexts

yes six to ten minutes to read and consider something in a Bible discussion forum is a big ask for some folk , I could shorten my posts considerably by leaving out the quotes of scripture that show what I’m talking about but I don’t think that’s a trade worth making
the way I see it in this forum there are short posts and long posts and posts in between and people who want the short posts have those available people who want to discuss and take in a few paragraphs have that available
and then old fools like myself can rant and rave lol and go “quote happy “ and then People have a choice , to read and discuss whatever they wish it’s a good place in that way even if we think “ hey this one guys posts are too long “ then here’s ten other people who agree and write short posts to interact with.
seems like we have different ways of speaking and I think it’s alright there’s a limit within the forum rules anything within that should be acceptable based on our ability to interact with a post or scroll past to one we find acceptable in length or presentation or idea or whatever the case
I wonder why so many people say “ I would read the Bible but I just don’t understand what it says “
whenever God had somethkng to say to mankind that was important , he had a man who was chosen and close to him wrote it down and preserve it so future generations could hear his word as Christian’s we should be sharing and discussing his word and the Bible’s a big book with a lot of credible witnesses
