Feasts of the Lord
Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.
The Sabbath
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

"Jews" are never mentioned in the first five books/Torah/Pentateuch of the Bible.

the children of Israel are all 12 tribes of which only one is the tribe of Judah.

When the kingdom split, it was House of Judah (two tribes plus Levites) and House of Israel (Ten tribers).

Can you show me a scripture were the Jews are required under the old covenant to keep the Sabbath Holy?

I know it is an assumption for those who have not read the Old Testament to think that the OT is just for the Jews. In fact, if you search the internet you will find that error in most Christian websites, but especially in the Jewish websites.

Why do you suppose that an intentional leading away from the truth is so prominent on the internet? Because, so many pastors and teachers who have been trained/brainwashed in seminary schools are taught this. It is a Jesuit teaching, intended to lead the masses astray. Jesuit -
noun
  • 1. a member of the Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic order of priests founded by St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and others in 1534, to do missionary work. The order was zealous in opposing the Reformation. Despite periodic persecution it has retained an important influence in Catholic thought and education.
From Wikipedia "The Society of Jesus (Latin: Societas Iesu; abbreviation: SJ), commonly known as the Jesuits (/ˈdʒɛʒu.ɪts, ˈdʒɛz(j)u, ˈdʒɛs-/;[3] Latin: Iesuitæ),[4] is a religious order of clerics regular of pontifical right for men in the Catholic Church headquartered in Rome. It was founded in 1540 by Ignatius of Loyola and six companions, with the approval of Pope Paul III. The society is engaged in evangelization and apostolic ministry in 112 nations. Jesuits work in education, research, and cultural pursuits. Jesuits also conduct retreats, minister in hospitals and parishes, sponsor direct social and humanitarian ministries, and promote ecumenical dialogue. "

Martin Luther (1483–1546), German theologian; the principal figure of the German Reformation. He preached the doctrine of justification by faith rather than by works and railed against the sale of indulgences and papal authority.

On October 31, 1517, legend has it that the priest and scholar Martin Luther approaches the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg , Germany, and nails a piece of paper to it containing the 95 revolutionary opinions that would begin the Protestant Reformation

We have had over 516 years of brainwashing the masses who would rather sit in an auditiorium and watch the stage of different actors.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Psalms_119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

Mark_13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Matthew_7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

What is iniquity? It is the workings of lawlesness.

1John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

What is lawlessness in the Bible?
  • Lawlessness as Acts of Sin. By means of the concept of "doing lawlessness" ( Matt 7:23 ; 13:41 ; cf. 1 John 3:4 ), lawlessness takes the meaning of deeds of lawlessness (cf. Matt 24:12 ; Titus 2:14 ). They are deeds that manifest rebellion against God.

1Samuel_15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Lamentations_1:18 The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity. (The House of Israel was taken into captivity in 721/722 BC by the Assyrians but they never returned. The House of Judah was taken into captivity by the Babylonians in 609 BC and many returned to Israel after 70 years.)

Psa_119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

Exodus_12:49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Numbers_15:16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

Numbers_15:29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

Exodus_20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Leviticus_23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Deuteronomy_5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

Question you must ask yourself is if the LORD/YHWH never changes and Jesus is always the same yesterday, today and forever, and they are ONE, who are you rebelling against and whose doctrine are you following?

You can quote all the OT scriptures you like but Christians are governed by the new covenant which took effect after Christ's death.

Prove that the Lords day is sunday. Many think it is with no evidence.
The evidence is there for those who have spiritual eyes to see it.

JOHN GILL'S COMMETARY ON REVELATION 1:10
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,.... Not on the Jewish sabbath, which was now abolished, nor was that ever called the Lord's day, and had John meant that, he would have said on the sabbath day; much less the Jewish passover, but the first day of the week is designed; so the Ethiopic version renders it "on the first day"; and is so called just as the ordinance of the supper is called the Lord's supper, being instituted by the Lord, and the Lord's table, 1 Corinthians 10:21, and that because it was the day in which our Lord rose from the dead, Mark 16:9; and in which he appeared at different times to his disciples, John 20:19, and which the primitive churches set apart for his worship and service, and on which they met together to hear the word, and attend on ordinances, Acts 20:7; and Justin Martyr (z) tells us, who lived within about fifty years after this time, that on the day called , "Sunday", (by the Greeks,) the Christians met together in one place, and read the Scriptures, and prayed together, and administered the ordinance of the supper; and this, he adds, was the first day in which God created the World, and our Saviour Jesus Christ rose from the dead; yea, Barnabas (a), the companion of the Apostle Paul, calls this day the eighth day, in distinction from the seventh day sabbath of the Jews, and which he says is the beginning of another world; and therefore we keep the eighth day, adds he, joyfully, in which Jesus rose from the dead, and being manifested, ascended unto heaven: and this day was known by the ancients by the name of "the Lord's day"; as by Ignatius (b), Irenaeus (c), Tertullian (d), Origen (e), and others; for it must be some day that was known by this name, otherwise it is mentioned to no purpose, because it would not be distinctive from others; for which reason it cannot merely design the day in which John saw this vision, because the Lord appeared on it to him, for this would not distinguish it from any other day. Some have conjectured that this was not the weekly Lord's day observed by the Christians, but the anniversary of Christ's resurrection; and so the Ethiopians still call Easter "Schambatah Crostos", the sabbath of Christ: to understand it of the former is best. Now, though John was driven from the house and worship of God, and could not join with the saints in the public worship of that day; yet he was employed in spiritual contemplations and exercises, and was under a more than ordinary influence of the Spirit of God; and his spirit or soul was wholly intent upon, and taken up with divine and spiritual things, with visions and representations that were made unto his mind, which he perceived in his spirit, and not with the organs of his body; he was in an ecstasy of spirit, and knew not scarcely whether he was in the body or out of it:

MATTHEW HENRY'S COMMENTARY ON REVELATION 1:10
The day and time in which he had this vision: it was the Lord’s day, the day which Christ had separated and set apart for himself, as the eucharist is called the Lord’s supper. Surely this can be no other than the Christian sabbath, the first day of the week, to be observed in remembrance of the resurrection of Christ. Let us who call him our Lord honour him on his own day, the day which the Lord hath made and in which we ought to rejoice. 4. The frame that his soul was in at this time: He was in the Spirit. He was not only in a rapture when he received the vision, but before he received it; he was in a serious, heavenly, spiritual frame, under the blessed gracious influences of the Spirit of God. God usually prepares the souls of his people for uncommon manifestations of himself, by the quickening sanctifying influences of his good Spirit. Those who would enjoy communion with God on the Lord’s day must endeavour to abstract their thoughts and affections from flesh and fleshly things, and be wholly taken up with things of a spiritual nature.

Luther was mostly protesting indulgences and other RCC abuses in his 95 theses.

The main, defining principle of Luther’s understanding of the Sabbath can be
discerned in the brief, third commandment section of Luther’s Small Catechism:

The third commandment: Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. What does this mean?
We are to fear and love God, so that we do not despise the preaching of God’s Word, but instead keep
that Word holy and gladly hear and learn it. On the surface, Luther’s explanation is straightforward—
about as straightforward as Luther can be. For Luther, the Sabbath is (all) about the hearing of the word
of God. Luther’s elaborations of this commandment emphasize and develop certain words, namely “hear,”
“learn,” “holy,” “Word,” and “preaching.” These elaborations are found in The Large Catechism and several
of Luther’s other writings on the subject of Sabbath. Taken together, Luther’s reflections add up to a
useful framework, one that amounts to a “middle way” between strict, legalistic Sabbath keeping on the
one hand, and Sabbath neglect on the other. In order to establish this middle way, Luther’s teachings reject
certain Sabbath understandings and practices common to other traditions—especially those traditions
Luther might have understood as legalistic. At the same time, Luther expends tough language for those
who disregard the Sabbath or abandon it altogether. Above all, Luther asserts that any and all Sabbath
practices should revolve around one primary concern, namely, the hearing and learning of God’s Word.

The third commandment? Is that not a Catholic doctrine? In the original Hebrew, Remember, the Sabbath and keep it holy is the fourth commandment.

That is how the Catholics understand the commandments, what Luther understood of them, and what was written of him.

It was about Martin Luther, and what he wrote, after all.

Are not all 7 days the LORD's? Is man's rule only for 6 days or rather six milleniums? The 7th day is the LORD's day as well as the 7th millenium is the LORD's Day. The sevening of ourselves if the oath of the covenant. The LORD's day will be full of wrath, which is what the Revelation of Jesus Christ dictated to John the scribe of the book of Revelation. Oops! I think I just "added" a commentary.

There is a lot the Bible admonishes us to Not Do on the Sabbath. My dilemma is what can we DO? I spend some time in prayer, some time reading the Word, and then I am stumped. I physically cannot sit around all day and end up just doing things (renovations on house etc) that are self-serving. What is acceptable to God on this day? What sort of things do YOU do to keep the Sabbath?
The sabbath day in the Old testament is like all other laws and ordinances shadows only

The law written on stone is a shadow of what God intended for US that His law would be written upon our hearts.

... to observe the law is to place one's self under a curse, oh people will not like that but it is what the bile says.

If you observe the sabbath you must keep the whole law perfectly.

The sabbath is the period of grace we are now under in the gospel age ... no-one can work for their salvation.

God has done everything He is ever going to do for our salvation, now He is resting and we must strive to enter His rest.

It's ok to have a day set aside specially for the Lord, it was good when it was the same day for everybody for then we can meet together for fellowship and the kids can go to Sunday school, never-the-less it is no requirement of God for us.

Live everyday for the Lord, let Him live in us everyday, work as unto the Lord.

Making keeping the sabbath a requirement is the thin edge of the wedge, once they get you doing that they will start loading you down with a 1001 more requirements down to tithing dill and cumin.

Right. The Seventh Day Adventists went that route, and they have also added many false doctrines to their belief system. There is also a degree of elitism among the Sabbatarians -- just like the Pharisees who hedged sabbath-keeping with all kinds of regulations, but forgot the weightier matters of the Law. And then hated Christ for supposedly "breaking" the Sabbath law, since He deliberately chose to heal on Sabbath days.

So those who insist on Sabbath-keeping but forget to offer all those animal sacrifices are in deep trouble. It is all a part of the same package.

Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

My holy day. Gods holy day is the sabbath.

Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

The rest of God is the seventh day sabbath.
Jesus did not say to keep sunday or to change the day.

You said i need to see it with spiritual eyes. But the bible planly states that the Lords day is the sabbath.

Many of the 10 commandments are not repeated in the new testament but are readily accepted as a moral law.

If you are looking for reasons to not keep it holy you will convince yourself.
But think of it like this...
It was made holy at creation.
It was keep before the Ten commandments were given.
It was keep by Jesus.
It was keep by after Jesus died.
Nowhere are we told to not keep it holy. And nowhere are we told that it would be made void by God.

There may not be a verse that states that we are to continue keeping it holy after this time. But there are many verses that state we are to keep the law and keep the commandments.

Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Jesus said
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Your interpretation is full of holes.

Romans 9:30-32
What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith; however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though they could by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone...

Those under the law (Israel) pursued a law of righteousness, by works.

Christians who follow the law make the same mistake. They pursue a law of righteousness, by works.

Perfect righteousness before God is a gift we receive, you cannot earn that righteousness.

You are making the exact same mistake as the Jews.

All scripture is for all humans, ir is explained in Galatians 3:28. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

It is not true that some scripture is for Jews and off limits for gentiles, or some scripture is only for Jews. God created a Jewish race out of a gentile, it was to teach a race to illustrate God to all man when gentiles wouldn't listen to Him. As God spoke to this special race, but over and over OT scripture points out that what he says is for Jew and gentile.
You are dead wrong on that point.

The law was given to Israel only. God was in a covenant relationship with the Jews.

How about you explain the following.

Romans 11:25
For I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this mystery so that you will not be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

Jews and Gentiles are not cut from the same log. Jews have been grafted out and Gentiles have been grafted in.

Why would you think that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile?

Roms 9 is saying Israel pursued the righteousness by their own works,
Paul makes it clear we can not attain righteousness by our own effort.

"Why? Because they did not persue it (the law) by faith"

If i do puesue the law by faith wouldn't i be doing the right thing. If I'm not keeping the law to establish righteousness, but because it is the fruit of faith in God am i doing the wrong thing.

The issue isn't about the law of righteousness.
It is HOW and WHY you persue it.

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

End of the law for righteousness. I agree.
End of the law? Not by the bible, because we are told to not make the law void by faith, but to establish it.

I agree, keeping any law will not earn salvation.
We are saved by faith in Christs righteousness alone.

But do we make void the law because we have faith..
Do we murder or lie because of the faith we have in Christs grace?

No, not 'the Law'. But my (perhaps wrong) understanding is that Jesus fulfilled the law, but the 10 commandments are not part of the law, and they still stand. I really am not trying to get a debate going, I'm not arguing... I am confused! These are just questions from one who is continually seeking the truth. I started by asking what other Christians typically do on a Sunday, and now am asking if we are supposed to be keeping the 10 commandments.
Hello BeALamp! The 10 commandments are part of the law and Jesus fulfilled all the requirements of the law so that those who believe in him would be justified from all things.

Acts 13:39 KJV
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

What do I do during Sabbath? I treat all days the same way.

Are you required to keep the sabbath strictly? No.

Is it okay to observe sabbath? Yes.

The whole point is God will not judge you if you esteem a day better than the other because you do it for him.

Romans 14:5-6 KJV
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. [6] He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

The new covenant of God is summarized into two commandments: love God and love your neighbors. If we do this, we fulfill the whole law. Because in this hang the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:37-40 KJV
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The problem comes when someone who observes sabbath condemns one who does not because of his belief. This is the very reason why Jesus was angry with the Pharisees because they bind grievous commandments to others but they themselves would not move a finger to obey God's law and would condemn others for not obeying the law.

If you read Acts, some Jews told the Gentiles that except they be circumcised, they cannot be saved, and so the elders and apostles had a meeting to discuss it and came to the conclusion that the Gentiles (we) are not required to keep the law but to abstain from eating blood, fornication, and pollution of idols.

Acts 15:20 KJV
But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Fulfilling the law of God by loving our neighbors works this way:

1 Corinthians 9:19-22 KJV
For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. [20] And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; [21] To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. [22] To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

If you want to fulfill the law, you lose your life and deny yourself so that you do not cause anyone to stumble. If you do not cause anyone to stumble, you are fulfilling the law. If you make someone to stumble, you are a transgressor to the whole law.

1 Corinthians 8:13 KJV
Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
