I asked chat GPT to write a brief conversation between SpongeBob SquarePants and Walter White
SpongeBob SquarePants: Hi there! I'm SpongeBob SquarePants! What's your name?
Walter White: My name is Walter White.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Hi, Walter! Nice to meet you! What do you do?
Walter White: I'm a chemist, SpongeBob. I used to teach chemistry, but now I make a special kind of blue crystal.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh, that sounds interesting! Is it for making jewelry?
Walter White: No, SpongeBob, it's not for jewelry. It's a type of drug that people use to get high.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Oh, I see. Well, that doesn't sound very nice. Why would people want to get high?
Walter White: I'm afraid I can't really answer that question, SpongeBob. It's a complicated issue.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Well, I hope you're not doing anything bad, Walter. It's important to always do the right thing.
Walter White: I appreciate your concern, SpongeBob. I'll keep that in mind.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Great! Well, it was nice meeting you, Walter. Have a great day!

Very thankful I've got a Savior to keep me sane.
When Joshua enters the land the first city they hit is Jericho depicting the censors trying to shut out the truth, the second city they come to after destroying the censors is AI depicting AI.

I stand by my original post: Very thankful to have a God of sanity.

All I'm sayin' is stay away from AI. As close as we are to the tribulation, HOW could anyone expect it to be accurate & not tainted by the 1%?

You will not be able to pull the plug on AI

During all this discussion the thought in the back of my mind was we could always pull the plug. But I just listened to a discussion where I realized that will not be possible.

They will use AI to replace key jobs that we absolutely must have for society to work. For example, suppose we pulled the plug on electricity today, can we do that? The lights go out, the heat goes out, all telecommunication goes out, refrigeration stops, AC stops, subways and electric trains and elevators stop, and pumps stop, which means that we lose our water supply and our wastewater system. That in turn means that all transportation grinds to a halt. True there will be those few that keep their cars running longer than others, but as we have a shortage of truckers delivering goods, soon the parts to those vehicles are missing, can't replace flat tires or brake pads or a number of other items. To keep some going they will cannibalize other vehicles. But in a matter of a month you will not have truckers going cross country, it would be way too dangerous. Because guns will still work. You will have roving gangs, they will set up road blocks, 18 wheelers would be their prime target.

Well the same is true of AI, they will use it to keep the electric grid working and to keep nuclear power plants working and water treatment plants and a thousand other essential services. You won't be able to compartmentalize it because you lose much of the functionality if it isn't connected to the internet and you have to compete with other companies who will offer a system with greater functionality and cost savings. If you replace essential workers within a year or two you would never be able to get them back and working. Pulling the plug on AI would simply mean civilization grinds to a halt overnight.

To be able to do what this is doing is fundamental for engineers and architects. The ease, simplicity and speed with which AI is doing this will certainly result in future engineers and architects no longer needing or using these skills. Again, making us dependent fully on this technology.

Once again, consider electricity. In 1883 you had the first electric power lines. Over the next four years electricity was installed throughout Buckingham palace. In 1892 you have the first cast iron lamp posts in NYC and by 1930 all of NYC had electric lamp posts. At this time only half the homes in the US had electric lighting. That was 100 years ago, half the American population was living without electricity. Today, could anyone do that?

Even the Amish, although they do not buy electricity from the grid, they do use electric power from generators, solar panels and batteries.

Everything is moving exponentially faster now. What took 100 years will now take ten years.

One can imagine new functionality. Design a lounge area will not only be art, but you can then ask it to pick a variety of options from a catalogue and give you the price. I suspect Amazon.com and other companies will offer that. They will be able to replace interior decorators. It will show you what the room looks like, how much it will cost, etc.

Already they are replacing tailor made suits with laser fitting. It takes an image of you and then sends those measurements to the factory to generate a "fitted suit".

In the same way they will eliminate interior decorators they will be able to eliminate architects. It won't simply draw the picture it will also be able to discuss the various materials and the cost benefit of each while also working up the drawings for the engineers.

Already we have sophisticated CAD/CAM programs, they will simply be integrated with the architect program and anyone will be able to design a building in the same way that Turbo Tax can do your taxes. Just like turbo tax they will begin with the simplest buildings and gradually work their way up to skyscrapers.

Predicting that in 2 years GPT-5 will outperform humans at 99% of all jobs.

Now imagine you are in college or younger. It is very hard to see you getting any real career jobs. (very hard, not impossible).

I imagine that every fortune 500 accounting department is now looking extremely seriously at this and may soon place hiring freezes on for many if not most jobs.

AI That Learns: We're Closer To AGI Than You Think

Do not be deceived. When they are worried about AI aligning with human's goals they are not talking about the goals of 99% of us, they are talking about the goals of the 1%. Not only so but it is the goals of the various military leaders, the megalomaniacs, and the Sociopaths. They are the ones with the budgets, manpower and resources to develop AI.

Xi's goal, Putin's goal, etc.

Already we have GPT4 Which is an early version of general intelligence. Although we can find people who are better artists, better composers, better writers, better at a number of different tasks we probably cannot find a single person that can do as many tasks as well as GPT4 and certainly it can do many specific tasks better than 80% of people. So if you need a person to so a very specific task and can pay any price people are still better, but if you want a jack of all trades who is very capable at everything, works 24/7, is faster and more efficient at doing a job than any other employee, and is far cheaper to employ then GPT4 is the clear winner today. Not only so but every day you will see fewer and fewer people who can do any job better than GPT4.

So although you might find a thousand trial lawyers better than GPT4 today, in a year that number may be only 10.

But that is better when price is no object. Those 10 would charge much, much more than GPT4 would.

Now consider this, suppose we had the best trial lawyer in the country. He is 60 years old, has an impressive record in his law career, has published some books, teaches university, writes Op Eds frequently. Imagine you have this same person at 26 just out of law school applying for a job and competing with GPT4. Will he look better than GPT4 when he is 26? No, he wouldn't.

Therefore I suspect in a year GPT4 will look better than any person being interviewed for a job.

In addition to wiping out new hires for white collar jobs, imagine you are a manager of some fortune 500 firm and you are suffering a shrinking revenue and so the order comes down you must cut your budget by 10%. Perhaps you have 100 people working for you and so with GPT4 you realize you can replace the ten lowest performing people, give the other 90 access to the AI program and get 10% more out of those 90.

They have trainable AI, so as you give it jobs to do you can train it so that it will do those jobs better. As a result a year later the boss again demands a 10% cut in your budget and so 9 more employees get the axe and no big deal, the AI can do their jobs too. Within five years that department of 100 can be shrunk to 10 with the AI.
