Do you believe everything the Bible says?

Look,
I don't mean to be so harsh on you but so many people are being duped by clever mechanisms with their "studies" that they don't even know what is going on anymore.

The old "a bat and ball together cost $1.10 and the bat cost $1 more than the ball." So most people think the ball cost a dime. But that isn't true. The ball cost a nickel.
The same logical fallacies have been performed with Theological studies for decades....and it's getting ridiculous with everyone repeating these same falsehoods.
At face flat value they look correct....but when some true analytical skills are applied they all of a sudden become unraveled.

The truth is out there. But it takes work anymore to get at it. It infuriated me when I discovered so many "truths" that I had been taught which weren't congruent with Who God is that I had blindly believed.

The axiom of "If a product is free to use then YOU are the product being sold" is still very true. Because there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all is real shout. It’s so loudly that the Earth shook. 1 Samuel 4:5

Do I believe the people jumped up and down to the point that items around them shook? Yes. Do I believe the entire earth shook? No.

God says His Word is Truth -------Jesus is The Word and Jesus is God -------so anyone who says the Word is not truth is calling Jesus a liar in reality -------in my view -----

People believe what they think the Bible is telling them.
You believe what you think the Bible is saying.

I think there’s gotta be at least someone who has the Bible all figured out. But do you think that the Bible can be understood completely or is it highly unlikely or impossible?

That would be something to meet a person who has it all figured out... and walked it all out as well.

I think that we're blessed that God doesn't ask that of us... and only desires us to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit "has the Bible all figured out" because he's the one who inspired its words. If people truly humble themselves before God, while truly relying on the Holy Spirit's guidance, then the Bible isn't that difficult of a book to understand. The real problem behind all of the differing opinions is pride.

This is true, but the KJV still isn't a perfect translation, so why not just give it a rest?

I've been reading the KJV for many, many years, but I'm not foolish enough to ignore its mistakes in translation when I see them.

Anyway, I'm not getting into an argument about this.

The Greek is literally more or less "not ((be))!"
It's a negative prefix without an object.

In the vernacular of the time kjv was translated, 'God forbid' makes sense tho not at all a literal translation.

In today's language you might say, "no way!" or "as if!" - any slang for "nope!"

I will say this though as sort of a "hit and run". In other words, I'm not going to argue this point with anybody.

It's highly probable that many here and elsewhere who don't even favor the KJV (as I do) have been heavily influenced (lest I should say "duped") by some of its errors in translation.

Here's a quick example:

John 14

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

"Mansions" is a horrific mistranslation. If anybody reading this is expecting a "mansion" in "heaven" (which is never even mentioned in this verse) some day, then you're going to be sorely disappointed.
