Personally I think it's dumb for a business to turn down a paying customer, as the whole point of running a business is to make money. Unless it was something outrageous like a Hitler cake or something
But people speak with their wallets so I feel like if the bakery doesn't want to bake the cake then there's probably another bakery that will accommodate them and people can also choose to boycott their business because that's how the free market works
To some, making a Hitler cake would be likened to making a pornographic cake, or a cake knowing it will be used for sinful event. Some people truly believe the most loving thing they can do is to show others the errors of their ways, so they can turn from their sin, Is it right? Eh not my job to say. I iwll say right or wrong, I find it a bit irritating, however.

You're saying race and sexual preference are the same thing, and I don't believe they aren't. People don't choose their race. They do, however, choose with whom and when they have sex, etc.
And before you say they can't help how they feel, I agree. But feelings aren't exactly where the sin comes into homosexuality. The feelings might be normal to some. Where the sin enters is when they choose to lust for or have sex with someone of the same sex. Just like the sin in my life wouldn't be my attraction to or feelings for a man, it would be in my choice to have lust for or sleep with this man.

Now, to me, it takes a LOT of mercy for us to learn to love everyone, and for each, the way we show this love is different. Many people believe it's loving to tell people the error of their ways, so they can truly repent and turn away from that action. In their eyes, that is the greatest thing they can do for another person. Whether this is right or wrong to God, isn't for me to say.

My personal choice is to just show the characteristics of Love to people, the best I can, without expecting anything in return from them, and regardless of how they live. Then, when/if asked how I believe, I can tell them the Good News that while I was still in my sinful heart, God reached out to me, and loved me anyways, the same way he loves you/them.
But no one is perfect at this either...

I believe that calls for discernment. Not every situation is the same. I have told a story of when we were in ministry as a family. My father began to preach against homosexuality, out of nowhere. We were standing and waiting for the next song and he began to preach. When we had an altar call a young man came forward who was a homosexual. He was moving in with his lover and considering having a sex change operation. He said that he didn't know that the Bible was against homosexuality. The church had been praying for him to come to the Lord. Their part was they prayed, the Word was preached, the young man came to the altar. So again I believe it is a matter of discernment as with any friend or loved one who is lost. You may be able to minister to my unsaved sister ( she isn't, just hypothetically) and she might listen to you more than she would me. So we need to stay open to the moving of the Spirit I believe.

If your religion says you can't do something then fine don't do it I have no problem with that
But if you say your religion says I can't do something then we have a problem
You don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says to force your religion on other people through legislation or otherwise
Also approximately 70% of Americans have no problem with same-sex marriage so you're into minority here

I would agree it is too late to remedy the situation.

The play book that was devised started a long time ago and unfortunately people are not critical thinkers but are persuaded by faulty reasoning and emotions.

Did someone really ask does being against interracial marriage make you racist? If you even have to ask that question yeah you're probably racist
Yeah, goes without saying. Although I do believe there was a time when people were afraid of how interracial children would be treated, and that could be their reason and not racism. I don't believe that is an issue this day in age.

I tend to agree there. We are all called by our own ways. My ways aren't to be bold and preach against things.....usually (never say never haha). However God chooses how to use us. :) God does indeed use some to show us the error in our lives through words.

I just noticed I quoted his comment out of context. But yes you are right.
In 2022 in america, nobody really cares about interracial relationships.
There are probably still a few racist bigots out there but they are a dying demographic

Some are planters, some water, some toil and prepare the soil. All are needed. But not everyone knows their place and that is a pity. More harm than good can be done. We have to follow His leading.

Times past the government was not involved in marriage. I suggest God's people marry under His plan not the governments plan. Teach our children Gods way/plan for marriage . If it must be, teach that the government only makes marriage a business contract. God deals wiht our hearts.

Well I've already mentioned this a couple times on this thread but the government had to tell States they can't stop interracial couples from getting married

However, Jesus teachings won't change over the generations. Jesus taught that marriage was the union between a man and a woman, not a man and a man nor a woman and a woman. And Scripture, both old and New Testament, teaches that homosexuality is an abomination. And those teachings won't change over time.

As I previously stated, when it comes to choosing between the current moral attitudes and those of the politicians, and Jesus with Scripture, I'll hold fast to Jesus and Scripture.

Christians have to choose, as the attitudes of the public/politicians vs Jesus and Scriptural teachings are diametrically opposed to one another.

As for myself, I'll hold fast to Jesus and Scripture.

When faced with choosing between God''s ways and the opposing ways of the world, Joshua put it best when he said, "As for me and my house, we will follow and serve the Lord."

Same for me when it comes to rejecting 'Gay Marriage' and all aspects of the LGBT movement which has successsfully infiltrated society and won't be satisfied until it drags us all along with it.

Does society and the powers of government recognize gay marriage, YES THEY DO!!!!!!!!! Does God recognize gay marriage, NO HE DOESN'T.

Christians need to make their decisions on whose way's they'll follow, God's way or the way of the world.

Same old rebuttal. Means nothing. The government had to tell its self not to be racist's many many times. And the liberals still are.

its based on evidence.
Evidence already exists from God who said He created man and women to be together as one flesh.

So that means it first takes abuse to become mentally ill and become homosexual, not the other way around.

God doesn't lie.

Are you saying God is a liar?

You're wrong. The amendment clause to the Constitution says all laws must serve a secular purpose
It does not really state that, and besides the decision was based on the meaning of the word "liberty" which now is interpreted in a post modern meaning rather than the original meaning.

I don't think the definition of Liberty has changed. It means you should have the right to do whatever you want to do as long as you're not harming anyone
Amendment clause specifically states that no law can favor any religion or discriminate against any religion.
The only way that can happen is for law to be secular

Believe as you will, children are in the mix and time will tell, history has shown repeatedly people are agents of their own destruction but since it not evidenced in the short term they think it is all fine.

John Adams stated: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Would you explain your strange statement that it first takes abuse to become mentally ill and become homosexual?

I don't support gay/lesbian marriage or believe that it is right in the sight of God. That being said, if folks are having homosexual relations whether married by the law/state or not... it is still sinful and not recognized by God. It is not legal in God's sight no matter what the state says.

A marriage is a legal contract under the law. The issue concerning marriage is whether people can be denied marriage to someone of their own gender. The government doesn't decide about moral issues.
