Corn and Lima Beans.
Bad Mix (n)
Did you know that according to culinary history the word “succotash” is derived from the Narragansett Indian word msickquatash meaning boiled corn kernels.

Just looked it up.

I never said that I have a complete and perfect understanding of the scripture. In fact, that is not possible to attain.
A person who is well-studied of the Bible says such things. When the Story of God is understood, it is simply the most unbelievable, unimaginable story that no human could make up. It is a Story of actual Power that is currently being executed according to the Lord's Eternal Plan.

I just concentrate on the primary doctrine as quoted by the apostles.

Keeping it as simple as can be.

John 3:36
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
This may sound a bit unusual but the post is kind of a search for an answer to the question, are all my relatives in Hell? Lots of people talk about relatives that passed going to Heaven and my relatives were not such big 'believers' so maybe they are all in Hell.

I could not agree more.

People say God does not exist.

Not only does God exist but He became one of us 2000 years ago.

Then we executed Him.

To add another level of difficulty.

God decided to only allow access through the instrument of faith.

I asked the same question myself, nearly all of my family and relatives are non believers.

Seems to me even Jesus spoke of teaching in parables so as not to be understood. And there are Scripture references to people being blind and possibly deaf to the truth. So it seems that people will be resurrected and taught or tried in court or ??.

Also I am getting the sense that being drunk is not so bad if even really a sin. Some people or groups make it sound like you are sure going to Hell if you get drunk.

I listen to Stanley on broadcast tv here in Chicago on the weekends and he seems ok. I only figured out to listen to him about 6 months ago. I thought he had a gimmick before that.

My post was to say that if Christ gave us a scripture saying we must repent or we perish, then that is truth. Charles only repeated Christ, Charles has nothing to do with determining our need for repentance, Christ did that.

My Bibles say the same thing. In fact, God proclaimed responsibility for the Nation of Israel being in a "deep sleep" so that they could not understand nor obey. The point of the Lord's doing such was/is to prove His Almighty Power, that He is a God with the ability to change the mindset of an entire Nation with instant application.

Over the last year or more I have talked by phone with a local teacher of the House of Jacob and he tells me they are, if not THE nation, at least a part of that nation which will go thru the tribulation as referred to in Scripture, 'Jacobs' trouble' and will have that 'instant application'. Though they wouldn't use those words. I find some possibility in this. Acts 15:15 seems to imply future events. And the uncanny similarity of 450 yrs captivity along with Scriptural reference to '......a language which you would not understand' and '.....scattered or taken unwillingly to lands or nations and subjected to becoming a byword...."I remain open minded and search.

Check this out:

Romans 11:25-26 NLT - "I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ. And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say, "The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness."

Once the full number of Gentiles have been reached, the qualified Nation of Israel will, within an instant, wake up. What an unbelievable world even that it will be . . . to see the Nation of Israel wake up all at once. I hope I get to see that Holy Day.

The teacher at HoJ who I talk with claims that most of the people in the country we now know as Israel are Edomites. There too, the little history I have read, both in the Bible and secular does indicate Edom, Herodians, as a number of occupiers of that land.

Another Scripture, somewhere talks of Jesus, though it does not refer to Him by name, having to '......gather from nations...' the rightful people.

By the way. What is a 'sufferin succotash'?

I have heard hundreds of these 'sayings' myself, half of them I do not even understand.
it was just an old thing people said in the old days. Most people recognize it as something Sylvester the cat said but it was actually a popular thing to say years and years ago.

Wow. Let's get simpler, shall we?
Good intentions without changing our course of action are vain.
uh yeah you mean lip service ? Yeah I agree can’t just talk the talk gotta start taking steps and walking the walk

The fact is most people reject the word for instance what I’m saying is this is what we need to look into

“But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:27-31, 35-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s a spirit in that the spirit of Christ the spirit of grace and mercy . this type of thing is what changes those who hear and believe the gospel until we’re walking in the light were not going to ever grasp it

the light isn’t “ Thou shalt not “ it’s found in Christs word

a sinner can’t become sinless , they have to die and be reborn and learn as new born children you don’t teach a new born child how to drive a car and work a job you have to have patience and let time have it’s work

salvation is about believing Christ if we do that he will heal our issues because our real issues are within where we believe the gospel

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in the end Jesus isn’t going to ask us about if we obeyed Moses it’s going to be about his doctrine

how did you treat other people in life did you hold everything everyone did against them ? Did You see people in need and pass by on the other side and not help ? Did you live your life for yourself only ? Did you be a blessing when you were able ? Did you spend your time lying cheating gf nd stealing your way through life ? Or did you learn lessons from your sins and mistakes and poor choices ?

did you love other people in deed and truth or didn’t you ? Read Matthew 25 you’ll find those inheriting the kingdom never have thier sins mentioned nor do those cast into satans home with him but Jesus brought to thier attention

You treated people right , or you treated people wrong

that’s what it’s all about to simplify we have to hear the gospel and learn from Jesus and realize “ he’s just teaching me how to live life the right way , and teaching me not to do hazardous things that can kill me “

the simplicity is believe the gospel and be good to people do good and when youve come up short , repent and let it go and get back to the path you were on

It’s not the letter and we don’t do anything on our own now , have to let a gods word change us it’s e only thing that can get gods living message in us so he can change our thinking and heart

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have to let that happen the rest will happen if we trust the word

I thought it was Yosemite Sam said it.
yeah I think he did too it was relatively popular like “ totally tubular “ was popular in the 80s it seems every era has thier own words and catch phrases

sufferin succotash was a little but before I was grown up enough to say it but I used to hear my elder family say it a lot it was a normal daily thing everyone said and understood

just a pop word like each generation has a few of its funny seeing it change from “
You square “ if you said that now says it doesn’t seem anyone would know what your talking about it’s funny watching that evolve over time music dance television movies theater everything has changed so drastically over the past 50 years

sometimes nostalgia creeps in when I hear things like that but yeah I think Yosemite Sam said it too I know Sylvester used to say it
