If jesus did nto pay for future sin, You better never sin again, Because once you do. there is no more payment for sin. Your under law. and according to the law. Guilty and cursed.
This is a distortion of the truth. Do you confess your sins and ask forgiveness? If so, why? If all future sins were covered when you repented and called on the Lord, why keep on confessing? Why ask forgiveness? And if you don't confess your sins and ask forgiveness, why do you disobey the truth of the gospel?

His death on the cross was sufficient to pay the penalty for sin, but we don't get a free pass for all future sins by simply repenting once then forgetting we're still sinners. I can hear it already and no, this isn't "works based" salvation; it's faith based salvation.

this is like saying the penalty is paid in full. But you still have to do "this and this" or your penalty will be re-instituted.

Yes sir. that is a works based salvation

We confess for healing. to put our sins in the open. so we can be transparent. We do not confess because we lost our freedom from the penalty and to get that forgiveness restored.

On the subject of sin, Paul's testimony to Christians agreed with Jesus teaching. Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:11
Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Amen...
Confessing our sin and being open to God instead of running from Him restores our fellowship with Him...
Thank God His grace and mercy are new every morning because He knows we need it...

Salvation is an ongoing process. If we continue in faith, yes, we have forgiveness. But if not, we aren't forgiven. We're saved by faith and we persevere through faith. He died for all sins: past, present and future. But that's no guarantee that that grace will be applied to us if we abandon our faith.

"For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins." 2 Peter 1:5-9

If Jesus forgave us all our sins, why did Paul caution us?

Paul made it abundantly clear that sin has consequences: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Galatians 6:7). Paul then describes the end of those who indulge in sinful behavior: “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction” (Galatians 6:8).
If we’re not getting everlasting life on the merits and righteousness of Jesus Christ, then we’re all doomed for everlasting fire.

No. Salvation is a completed process

for by grace we HAVE BEEN SAVED

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by his mercy HE SAVED US

The penalty of sin is death. Only death can pay. If christs death did not pay for your sin, Your doomed

Yet Paul said they were forgiven

So, what did Paul mean in that a "sinful nature' will reap destruction"? What type of destruction is he speaking of?
You are not your sinful nature, not if you have been saved, born again.

Old things have passed away, behold all things have become new. We are in Christ, we are new creatures. Your old sinful nature is nailed to the cross, it's buried, it's gone, now we are risen with Him to walk in newness of life.

Anyone who continues to sow into their old sinful nature will reap corruption because it is dead. Even though they will be saved ... as by fire.

So, Rosemaryx, how do you interpret the following verses that are related to sin?

Hebrews 10 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins

1 John 3 - Children, let no one deceive you. The person who acts in righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous.
Whoever sins belongs to the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. Indeed, the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil.

And why would there be any need for repentance if Jesus forgave us all our sins? 1 John 1 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I agree with your Biblical quote, but there are many on this board that, through Jesus' sacrifice
on the cross, all sin has been atoned for and is irrelevant because we have been saved.
What is irrelevant? Sin? I highly doubt anyone is saying sin is irrelevant.

Hebrews 10 - For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins (KJV)

1 John 3 - Children, let no one deceive you. The person who acts in righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous. (v. 7, Aramaic Bible In Plain English)

Whoever sins belongs to the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. Indeed, the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil. (v. 8, New American Bible)

And why would there be any need for repentance if Jesus forgave us all our sins? 1 John 1 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (v. 9)
Just thought that might add a little clarity.

1 John 1 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:8-10~ If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His Word is not in us.:)

If all sin isn't atoned for wouldn't Jesus need to come back and be crucified again. And shouldn't we be make sacrifices regularly until such time?
Salvation doesn't mean we aren't to strive against sin but that we are freed from it's penalty and daily are being freed from it's power. Eventually, in glory, we will be removed from its presence.
Hallelujah.

How many of our sins were yet future as Jesus hung on the cross?
