Never had crocs, and don't intend to unless I plan on walking in water in a water park. I have rain boots.

I've never worn a pair, but they're definitely not extinct.

In fact, they're VERY POPULAR out here in the Poconos of Pennsylvania.

My three children all own at least one pair each.

When I had my own business, I sold a type of shoe just like the Crocs (I was working in VA Hospitals), and the doctors and nurses (especially the nurses) used to buy them like crazy (especially since I had them in a variety of colors).

They look comfortable, but I'm not really into wearing open shoes.

I dont have any
but I had the knock offs of shoes that had holes in them, pink...very comfortable, and light wore them gardening
but mum started wearing them and she ruined them as they had a heel and squashed the back part of the heel so she could slip them on

and they got all ripped up so I had to chuck them out

now I have hunter clogs, they are sturdier and dont have the back part so can just slip on, but also they are heavier and they dont have holes in them

and mum has sloggers I think, that she kinda was given. by my aunty

I have not worn crocs, but there was also another knock off called frogs that looked very similar

i suppose good for sweaty feet though, but should wear socks with them I think

Jibbitz, which are basically charms which go into those holes, are very popular out here as well.

I supoose it depends on your hospital policy
I dont work in one, but I could ask my brother, pretty sure he doesnt wear crocs but then, hes doctor not a nurse

I think he wears closed in leather shoes
or doc martens (supposedly have bouncy soles)

but I saw there were crocs with no holes in them for bistro and hospitality workers
crocs were originally a boat shoe

and then theres socks vs no socks

I had to wear special safety shoes with steel toe and boots for gardening in case accidentally put a spade in my foot...but that was for work, and they were heavy

I think nurses would go for slip on skechers now

definitely laces are a pain for shoes. I hate laces.

Ever live somewhere where it rains and/or floods a lot? Shoes that don't absorb water, like sandals or crocs, are essential. It's not convenient or practical to wear wet shoes or have to dry your shoes every day. Crocs are good for some climates, imho, but if someone lives somewhere where it doesn't even flood often it's a bit tacky, but there's nothing wrong with wearing them. Everyone has their own style.

All I know is my sister loved them and wore them all the time. Then she began having issues with her feet. She went to her doc and he told her the crocs had done it and it was the worse thing you could wear on your feet.

Ok yes when it rains it is good to wear those because your feet won't stay wet in them like in a regular shoe, even with hose its ok to wear those sometimes.

huh, why not just wear gumboots
at least your feet stay dry in them! As they are waterpoorf and dont have holes in them

I wonder why crocs are bad for your feet though, are they too soft?

Awful and bad for your feet. I used to wear them when I went to the local pool.
A Podiatrist told me it's because they have no or poor heel support.

Crocs are not extinct, only the ones with a heel they discontinued. The rest are still in production.
