2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I use the Bible Experience audio bible. With that I've been through the entire Bible around 4 or 5 times. Scripture is always shifting, as my life is constantly evolving.

Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, YOU and YOUR HOUSEHOLD!

Sadly, most Christians don't believe this.

Hi, what is that bible verse that has help you the most since you came to God.
This would be too hard of a question to answer because God has used so many different Bible verses over the years to minister to me in so many different ways.

That said, as strange as this may initially sound, the one book of the Bible which might ultimately prove to have been the most advantageous to me is the book of Job.

Why?

Well, because there I learned to never pit my own righteousness against God's righteousness.

God is always right.

Whenever anything rises up in me against his word, then I know that the problem is at my end, and I repent accordingly.

What's your favorite verse, and why?

Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, YOU and YOUR HOUSEHOLD!

Sadly, most Christians don't believe this.
Because context says otherwise. It was spoken to an individual. And his family were only saved After they heard and accepted the gospel. So it's not a doctrine, it's a line in a story. At no point does this chapter suggest his family is saved because he is.

29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.

The promise is ONLY for those who believe it. Why don't you?

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

….since you came to God…..

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

Anyone who comes to God must believe he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

So many important verses God has given me during my 42 years following Christ. I try to memorize all the verses God gives me, including its address. Then I meditate on them, sometimes for years.

"God demonstrates his love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5-8

"For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil. 1:6

Psalms 23, 8, 42 & 43.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice—alive, holy, and pleasing to God —which is your reasonable service. 2 Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God—what is good and well-pleasing and perfect." Roman's 12:1-2

"Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance, character, and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:3-5

"I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me!" John 14:6

"Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” Matt 11:28-30

"Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified." Romans 8:28-30

"But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;" Isa 43:1C- 3a

That's just a few of the verses God gave me over the years, to memorize and hide in my heart. Everyone should be memorizing Scripture, if possible! If you ever find yourself in a dark place, a prison or concentration camp, you will be able to day them, meditate in them, share the gospel with them! Hide them in your heart!

There was a time when I struggled with God’s identity. I drank the heretical Kool-Aid that states God is distant, angry, unapproachable and just waiting to lash out against us.

Then one day I read John chapter 10 depicting Jesus as the Good Shepherd. Later in that chapter it states people wanted to stone Jesus for misperceived blasphemy. In verses 37 and 38, Jesus states to the people, “If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

After reading, I went for a walk to reflect on the Scriptures and had an epiphany that changed my life forever. At that moment the truth of God’s essence became known to me, for I realized that God’s love for us was demonstrated through the faith and kindness and works of Jesus Christ, and that what we are told about Jesus is true because it was witnessed by the multitudes.

It was at that moment I understood God is up-close and personal, loving, caring, gracious and kind. It was also at that moment all my fear disappeared and it was replaced with peace, joy, elation and an unshakable confidence in God’s grace. Today I am an unapologetic believer in Jesus Christ and His saving grace.

Luke 15:25-31
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

Totally agree with you. Is not that we don't "believe it", is just that it was a personal and individual promisa, not a promise to the church.

Mark 9::23 "If You can?" echoed Jesus. "All things are possible to him who believes!"

2Cor 13:Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
