In my understanding, if you don't understand the simple and clear meaning of Mark 7:15, which is that neither food or anything else one puts in their body makes them unclean, as per the Jewish law, but the sins such as listed in Mark 7, then you don't understand it.
"20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” - Mark 7:20-23
Again, study and understand what that scripture means.

I fully understand understands what it means. You will never convince me that alcohol consumption is sinful, because I know better.

People abuse all kinds of things. I'm not advocating drinking, I'm just facing reality. I guess some people have a drink at the end of the day to unwind. If one wants to interpret scripture to say that it bans drinking, that's their business. It's not how I see it. I want to know what God's word really says. I strive to listen to what the Lord tells me, not man's tradition.

Well we know that what most people do abuse is sin. We know drunkenness is sin. It's a fine line that I don't see many able to walk.

Especially if they have been drinking too much!

We agree on most all accounts. We’ve, as a people, largely lost that alcohol was once food and not just something to get drunk or buzzed on. Wine was as normal as bread in Jesus’ day. God always chooses the most common things to show us the deepest truth. Wine and bread would have been most common staples on the tables in home. No responsible person, even without Christ, would have gotten drunk. I have wine in my home. No one living here or those I count as friends ever get drunk.

I see that some cultures, like Italians, others that grew up the way you are saying, they seem to respect alcohol. On this side of the ocean, not so much. I don't if it's because it's tied in with a certain lifestyle or what the issue is. No alcohol tv ad has a family sitting at a meal together. It's get bombed, don't know where you are, have sex with whoever you like kind of ad. Two totally different views, maybe there is the issue. I do agree with your POV. But even with wine here they abuse it. It's like a joke, Mommy juice, she can't stand her kids or her husband, she needs to drink. No respect at all.

Hahah. Funny side note, I have a chronic dizziness issue. It hits me at the oddest times. Luckily I have never been in public when a bad one hit. I always thought a cop would think I was drunk. I seriously couldn't walk a line. I can hear it now... "What're you in for?! "Dizziness"...

When I was a child, my best friend was Italian. They often invited me over for supper. They always drank wine with the meal. In all the time I knew them, I never saw them drunk.
Once when I was 12, I had access to their wine cellar and drank about 2 litres of wine. I was sick for a week. Mrs. Carnivelli later said to me, "You lika da wine? Too much wine make you sick in the head!" She was right!

Deu 32:32: "For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:"
Deu 32:33: "Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps."
my dude,
i really love how dedicated you are to study.
i just think you're doing it wrong. maybe you noticed the post i put about 'rules for interpreting scripture' from my church? start there; set all of your presuppositions aside. if Christ's blood is likened to wine, then wine is not intrinsically evil.

please note that the Bible doesn't say,
"
all vines are like Sodom, all wine is the poison of dragons"

instead God specifies a specific vine calling it like Sodom, and a specific metaphorical wine saying it is like the poison of dragons.

so what you are supposed to do, dear Bible student, is find out why God says in one place wine gladdens men's hearts, and is a blessing, and why in these places it is like great wickedness and the deceptive poison of dragons.

the answer ((hint hint hint)) is not that it is only wine in one place but grape juice in another according to your whim.
wine is wine.
look past that fruit of the vine to the greater truth.

why does God give us a single thing that is poison to one man and a blessing to another?
what else ((Who else?)) in scripture, besides wine, condemns one and blesses another?
why did omniscient, omnipotent Christ make this His first miracle? at a wedding?

don't go through scripture asking how it can fit what you have been taught.
ask how God is glorified to the utmost

Then you reject God's word.
That's not a nice thing to say. I could say that you are legalistic and a modern-day pharisee that has a carnal understanding of God's word, but I won't. Instead, I'll write it off to ignorance.

LOL don't worry about the messenger...just be concerned about the Judge.
In my assignment there is no PC.

Because of a difference in understanding scripture, you say I reject God's word. That is a very serious charge. I don't, in my opinion. Obviously, it's not yours. I can live with that. I just don't like snooty, holier-than-thou attitudes, that's all. May the Lord judge both of us.

WOW...now you are calling God's word...."snooty and holier-than-thou attitiudes"...
Trying to shoot the Messenger is foolish. Now that is from me.
There is no room for different understanding on this one. Scripture is clear.

Oh please...list the nice one.
How about us look at police reports and see how many are sent to the grave each weekend in this society....is that as nice?
Or worse yet...how many become drunk...a direct violation of scripture...is that ok?
I might point out that you are violating one of the 3 main guides to study scriptures by;
3) Do not spiritualize the Bible.

By saying to me, "Then you reject God's word," you are, in my opinion, misinterpreting scripture and set yourself up as my judge. Pride!
" that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,"
- 1 Thessalonians 4:11
You are not my messenger, and you are in error regarding what scripture says about alcohol. I'm willing to agree to disagree, but you aren't.
"…2with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;…" Ephesians 4: 2-4

I remind you again that I don't drink and think the world would be a better place without drinking, but I do not believe that scripture teaches abstinence.
