I had to listen to that awful "beep.......beep........beep" until about 11AM this morning when I could get my Dodge cleaned off/dug out and get to the Exxon about 2 miles away and buy some 9volt batteries........l
You are much more patient than me!!!!!
When our smoke/carbon detector malfunctions (as in randomly goes off for no reason) I'm doing EVERYTHING I can to silence the
*beep...beep...beep*ing dumb thing.
I always forget that there is a trick to getting to the batteries hidden in it somewhere (hey the thing is LOUDER than all my cubs screaming at once- actually, I have one who is incredibly quiet, so that never really happens- but you know what I mean)
Often times it malfunctions just due to noise and vibrations on the wall- well, not "often" as in it happens all the time...... just that when it does happen that seems to be the case.
Actually, the smoke detector has only gone off legit once because there was smoke in the house (from the kitchen- attempting to deep fry something
at least the fam hasn't asked for anything deep fried since then- Lord knows I hate doing that)
