Should believers have anything to do with books and movies such as Harry Potter?

Deuteronomy 18
9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

It's my view that if it's an abomination to God, then we should have nothing to do with it.

I view Harry Potter as a substitute for trusting in God for your strength. Instead of trusting in God, it seduces children to trust in magic and witchcraft. I know kids that reject the Bible, but are experts in all things Harry Potter.

I personally haven’t seen or read Harry Potter. I don’t believe someone is doing sorcery just by watching or reading Harry Potter.

I have 3 children and its really difficult shielding them from all the ' witchcraft ' Thats even in toddlers programmes.

There's white(newbies),grey(semi interested in occult) and black witches(fully occult) it began with Gardeners fiction novels in the link and took off as a way to introduce Wicca to new recruits as a form of "white/good witch" and then look for those who cast spells in vengeance,anger(grey) and then look for those who acknowledge God and Satan and move then to black occult. pagan/white wiccan examples are Harry Potter,Buffy the vampire slayer ect. or if you Google "stones,energy in stones ect." you'll see the different things they sell online. If you follow the links to the other groups in the article you'll see the other groups(covens) and the varying degrees. There's several other things you can find on the www by Googling Gerald B. Gardener's name(interview he gave) and how this spread verses why it's targeted at the young. After the internet many of the older members looked for the books,manuscripts ect. and for Gardeners school degrees ect. and realized he lied about them and they realized it was all fabricated and left Wicca so look for those who were in it and left out of it and read the things they said.

Only if they can do so envisioning Jesus returning while they are involved eating their popcorn and watching Harry Potter (or some such) and do so with a clear conscience.

I have watched many. You then sit back and .. wow nothing happened. The reason as see it.. it pushes us a little more farther away from Him because its not of Him in any way. So us doing that give an open door to the enemy. As if what Adam and Eve did was not bad enough? All they did was listen to that lie. Our Father is trying to protect us.

Were free and we can justify almost everything we do. Everything we do where GOD is not in it has a price.

Mind as well get rid of the libraries. Unless you are planning to practice sorcery the books in themselves are just a form or recreation and entertainment.

Google "rise of Wicca in youth" it just jumps out when reading about the number of youth turning to ,pagan,wicca,spiritualism ect.
