Star wars is another one. Not sure why people are into that light sabre stuff, looks like sorcery to me.
Twilight
Dr suess was kinda racist.

Thing is there are heaps of things out there. But you know, instead of moaning about it why not tell your own stories for children that they will want to read. Make your own movies.

...

Everyone's been mulled down into, mom and dad works all day,,,they get off work and grab burgers or something to microwave and a couple of movies from Redbox. The kids watch their movie in their room mom and dad watch theirs in the living-room. It's the perfect setup to be able to teach mom and dads kids what you want because they knew mom and dad were in the living room and kids would see the movie they watched as approved by them because they got it for them. Times have changed from the blockbuster,Redbox days though now everyone has roku(or something) and so they just go through the menu and choose what they want.

Should believers have anything to do with books and movies such as Harry Potter?

Deuteronomy 18
9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

It's my view that if it's an abomination to God, then we should have nothing to do with it.
I have seen and heard many Christians defend watching hp.

even said it was about love. What I find interesting is the subtleness of the movie #1 but how dark it became as they moved into making # 2,3, etc...

no idea what redbox is.

lol

I think that a lot is put on teachers at school to teach children how to choose wisely. Many children dont know what to choose, they will often just choose what is put right in front of them and if its only harry potter and nothing else, well, they will go for it wont they.

Children, like most people will go for shiny new things or what appeals to them which is quite different to what an adult would like. They dont have enough experience to know what will be good or bad for them.

Children also have short attention spans, if it doesnt grab them from the first page, or even the cover, they will lose interest.
