No one is revising anything as far as I can see

we are putting them where they belong, as a result of being born again, Not as a means of maintaining or keeping or earning that salvation
Maybe glasses are needed? We do loose sight a little as age befalls us....you know.
"earning"...is a catch all spin isn't it?

I work for a company about 40 hours a week. I work to “earn” a living

If your working in order to gain salvation of keep from losing it. You are working to “earn” salvation

It’s not a spin it’s reality

we 'work' for 'POSITION', not 'SALVATION' -
as it is written;
MATT. 5:19.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least Commandments, and shall teach men so,
he shall be called the least in The Kingdom of Heaven:
but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in The Kingdom of Heaven.

My brother sometimes it is best to look up the Greek when you have a passage that seems to contradict other passages

The word “take away” comes from the Greek word “Airei” Which means to lift up, to raise, to lift

Then study what plantation keepers do to their branches that are not producing fruit. They are lifted up or raised up and some are pruned so the bad parts if the branch are cut iff and the Rest of the branch Can again produce fruit
Let me quote verse 2

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Let compare to verse 6

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Verse 6 say if a man not abide in Jesus > burn or hell not only lose the reward.
So to make it consistence with verse 6 verse 2 (the branch that not bear fruit )is take away for what?
To be burn, like verse 6 say.

To say branch that not bear fruit only lose the reward, you have to correct verse 6

Can we correct Jesus?
Yes we want to make salvation easy because we are sinner. But Jesus warn not to

Jesus say go to heaven is not easy

Matt 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Only few

Remember Jesus never lie.

If some body tell, you go to heaven is easy, keep rob the bank, lying, etc you only lose your reward, don't believe it my brother.
Jesus say narrow is the path

Not bear fruit only lose the reward?

Remember verse 6

Remember the word burn, fire hell not only lose the reward but still go to heaven

Predestination is true, but what the Bible says about it . . . !
I agree.

But we don’t have the all-knowing mind of God for that to be of any use to us.

1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

We must walk in humility because we don’t know who God has predestinated to salvation. We must follow on as if we had not obtained:

Philippians 3:12-13 KJV
[12] Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before

My brother, salvation is by faith not work.
Invite Jesus to your heart than you save.

But you have to remember Jesus in your heart will bear fruit for you.
And what is that fruit?

The fruit of Holy Spirit is love.

If you not bear that fruit you will be burn

Remember verse 6

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast theminto the fire, and they are burned.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

"Context" is the one word I have grown to hate as well as original,Greek and Hebrew word meanings!

I live in the word of God alone, the HOLY SPIRIT is my teacher.
He can show us just through one verse, not the whole chapter what we need to know!

I think in this age many are NOT dependent upon the Spirit and God to teach us but rather self and others!

I cannot save another by my beliefs! I must share the word in love and leave it up to the Spirit to produce.

We are allowing satan to use us when we seek to shame, condemn, accuse, antagonize, judge or falsify others position with God.

The Spirit can certainly show us meanings to the text in ways we don't expect, but if we are to agree there is a true meaning to the text it is something we should be able to explore and agree upon.

An example of this is the Holy Spirit once used Hebrews 12:4 to tell me I needed to brush my teeth more thoroughly and regularly but I would never argue that that's what the text means.

Doctrine is formed by exegesis, and exegesis is aimed at discovering the authorial intent based on context and original word meanings. Some may use it as a loophole to escape plain readings or otherwise distort the message but abuse does not preclude proper use.

Just my 2 cents.

That's the one word false teachers and false sects hate as well. Congrats!

I teach no man ,woman or child!
I live my life in His word, lead by His Spirit.

God DOESN'T need me to help Him,only in sharing through love!

Hmmm... So Christ, Paul, Peter, the prophets, Jude, John, Luke, and men of God who used the word aright to test the spirits (1 John 4:1ff) whether they are of God, or not, are allowing Satan to use them, right?

That is what you are claiming.

Each of them condemned the false teachers and professors, accused them, judge them, shamed them, you name it and showed them to be charlatans. Maybe you really ought to start liking the word "context?" Eh? No?

Reminds me of a quote by Francis of Assissi...something like "Everywhere you go, preach the gospel. Use words when necessary."

I see your point, however:
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Timothy was taught by his mother and grandmother, unless I am wrong.

You are being asinine and antagonizing, to what purpose?

I don't come here to debate, argue or be flippant.

I agree,I instructed my children and any in my care how much Jesus loved us.
It is our nature to share His great love with those we love!

I mean that my intent is not to be an instructor of God's word over the Holy Spirit.

But you did, you came and criticized my post about context, ridiculed it, judged it, shamed for it, belittled it, were flippant about it, then claimed how you're full of love 💕as if that neutralized your baseless criticism.

Remember now?

Don't like being challenged over criticizing another's post? Then don't do it. How about that?

My point stands, you're out on a limb, context is of utmost importance. It is where we derive sound doctrine from scripture; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:1ff. All cults and sects hate context. That's a fact.

The Holy spirit is a spirit of Truth, and will always teach the word according to its intended meaning, in context, something you've taught yourself to hate by your own admission. :)
