Bible Study (Room)

The site seems to strongly endorse a strict reform Calvinist view. I tend not to waste my time in the Bible chat room since it seems to them that God has not released original thought in 500 years.

Wrong. Not necessarily calvinist. From experience I know most people here believe in free will.
And ofcourse its reformed, this is still christian chat.
What do you expect? More catholic talk? As if 'God hasn't released original thought in 1700 years.'

I think it is more based on the lack of full consideration of having the mind of Christ that creates such a distorted view on this site. What do you expect, this is what you get when you allow the public and unbelievers to mix a true sense of the current church as if God hasn't released an original thought in over 2,000 years!

The Bible studies were awesome. I miss them a LOT.

(My Opinion and Observations Only)

Humbly sharing Jesus or putting the spotlight on ourselves? A few times in the bible study chat some people dominate the room and sometimes they go on mic 4 or 5 times in a row and 50 times a day it seems. Are they sharing the Lord or standing on a soapbox?

They like to say its not about us and then they go right ahead and make it about them. They want us to know they are bible experts or that they "think" that they know it all or that they know more than the rest of us? Next time see if you notice this?

It's like they are saying, "Hey, I know more about the bible than you," without really saying it. It's a form of boasting.

I like sharing about Jesus and the bible, but I won't go on for hours acting like I was there at the time of Jesus or that I will tell people exactly what God meant in each bible verse. It's impossible for us to know it all or to claim that they and nobody else knows exactly what verse A, B or C "really" means?

Is it a way for a Christian to feel superior to the rest of the people in the room? I don't know. Sharing is one thing, but some people want to "tell" you what and how to believe like their way is the only way?

Maybe some of them are frustrated armchair pastors? Could be...?

This section is meant for sharing suggestions on the site, not for chatting. So not many people come here to chat. Particularly not in 3 month old threads.

I would like to have a Bible Study where we search the scriptures to see what they say. Did you have a topic in mind? I have a few that I can suggest.

Also the post was in reference to the live chats, not the forums.

I've heard from.the more.recent newcomers how disappointed they are when coming into the Bible Study room. how they see and feel so many times someone is being mocked or targeted when someone shares something especially by those who dont agree. I have seen what they are referring to. at this ti.e Gods love, mercy and grace is not felt. so sad when this happens
maybe an idea of having people arrive in a different room rather the Bible Study room?
