Perhaps that is their purpose here? To blaspheme God, devalue Christ's sacrifice, and Salvation, while getting a particular satisfaction when those whom Jesus told to love, our enemies, as one committed to such an endeavor would qualify to be called, are shown by us anything but. Name calling, casting aspersions upon them, questioning their intelligence, etc... are contrary to what Jesus said we should be toward those who hate us. Love your enemies, do good unto those who do you harm.
Love is the law.
God is Love.

If there are those type here, the enemies of truth, imagine what kind of life they have off their computer that they would endeavor to harass Christians in their own community.. And enjoy the reactions their behavior garners from those who follow the Prince of Peace.

Of course it would. Because those who are enemies of the cross, the truth, have no respect for either. Therefore, praying for them would make to them no difference. They'd hold contempt for that and even argue against it as well.

Rather than let someone yank our chain and enjoy the exercise, how about this: We only encounter such folks if they choose to join this forum. They're here, we can pay them attention, or we can ignore them.

But they, oh, they are another matter. Because no matter where they go, here or anywhere else, they will always have to live and be themselves. That which gazes at them in the mirror, and knows the motives that cause them to join forums where Christ is respected, and the word of God is bond.

Who really has it worse then? Us? Or them.

I disagree...love and truth go hand in hand...Jesus loved the people while beating them with a whip, calling them very pointed names and using sarcasm....please do not question my love of the truth and my love for lost men even though I rake them over the coals when they devalue My Lord, the truth and what he has done and does do for humanity!!!

Jesus didn't beat people with the whip He fashioned by His own hand. He beat a certain people, the money changers who defiled His Father's house.
Mine was just a suggestion to you, and to anyone who thinks to behave as you do toward a people who as one can tell with very little effort, love to bait you to go off.

One last thing. Don't imply by any measure that your behaviors on this forum are like unto Jesus in His time. Christians are to be an example of the positive, the change, the Good News can bring to the fallen. Not a warning.

Exactly.....I am sick of people questioning our love or Christianity just because we do not put up with heretical B.S. being peddled by false teachers....the men of the bible were INSPIRED of God, they used sarcasm, very pointed names, heat, and made no bones about it....they mocked, ridiculed and EVEN HEWED PAGAN KINGS to pieces.....Christianty has become a joke, being easily offended is a sure sign of immaturity and or not even being saved......if these people cannot handle a little heat they need to get out of the kitchen....and for sure they will fold like a man with a pair of deuces in a poker game with wild cards when the crap really hits the fan for believers SOON!

The gift of tongues is often misunderstood. Though those who are led by the Holy Spirit are able to speak in the language that resonates on the same dimension as God's angels, more often than not, actual tongues is precisely as you describe. And it was meant as such in scripture.

In those times people did not refer to different languages as, different dialects, different languages. They referred to the manner of a persons speech as their tongue. "He speaks in the tongue of the Greeks." "He knows the tongue of her ancestors and shares this doctrine with her in that way." (none of that is in scripture bty, just examples.)
Speaking in tongues is how the Good News was to be conveyed to the world so as to fulfill the great commission. The Apostles were able to speak the tongue of those they encountered in their own language, because God sent them that gift at Pentecost (The Book of The Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2).
And precisely so that they could spread the Good News in any language and unto all people.

I know Jesus had used some strong language to certain leaders but also he showed gentleness and healing in his words. What is the good balance in showing gentleness in our words but also boldness and frankness when necessary?
