and here we have the lie of lordship salvation- saved by faith, salvation proved by works....
10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child - 1 John 3:10

20 ...by their fruit you will recognize them. - Matthew 7:20

You have there someone who really knows the subject. The best people I know can usually sum it up in a few words. For example, I would say, "The true Christian is eternally saved because they never leave the Saviour."

I do not read long posts, just so you know.
Ah, but you did read that one.
I don't all too often post long posts. Others may read me. That too is the point. You are known here by your fruits.

As for True Christian is eternally saved because they never leave the Saviour., I would tell you that Peter left Christ, denied Him three times and before the cock crowed, as Jesus foresaw and told Peter he would do. Peter was an Apostle, and Jesus knew Him ever after, and well past the cock crowing.
That story tells us that while we may leave Christ, Christ who knows us never leaves us. As He promised. As He fulfills.

Perhaps the reason so many are dead set on repeating the oft posted idea that Salvation isn't eternal, is because they don't know what it is to have the Holy Spirit living within. Feeling empty they believe it is possible God will leave if we but do this or that. And yet, what those who believe such always forget is, God knew the sins of the world prior to coming here as His only begotten Son. He died to take all the sins of this world upon Himself on the cross, that whosoever believes shall have immortal everlasting life.

How then can anyone think that our losing faith for whatever cause God would know, would let God to leave us too, after He suffered so much to save us.
Those who walked away from Christ, are not an example of those who lose faith being cast out. (the scripture in the Book of 1st John chapter 2 and verse 19) Those who left Jesus and His Apostles were the example of the nominal believer. Those who carried the name, faithful in Christ, but were not so. Those are not saved in the first place. Which Jesus knew.)

The next time we encounter those who are dedicated to telling us our Salvation is not secure, consider they're certain of this because they don't know what being secure in Christ and His Salvation is. Otherwise, they'd not feel so assure of something that is not possible for those who know.

You can't have it both ways.
Either the person who leaves was never saved to begin with, or what you just said here is true:

You can't have it both ways.
Which one do you want to go with?
The question really is, which one are you?

My post was very clear.

this-

2 people who are drug addicted to drugs come to Christ, and receive Him as Savior.

one person never gets high again from that moment forward.

the other struggles for years to break the addiction , going through cycles of sober and not.

the truth is, both of them are saved, because they are saved by belief.

lordship salvation would say that the clean one is saved, the other is not.

that is what I am getting at, exposing the lie of lordship salvation.

...you turn around and say that if one sins too much, salvation will be taken away, thus making it salvation by works.
For the believer sin is covered by his continuing faith in the blood. His faith in the forgiveness of God keeps him from coming under the condemnation of sin.
The danger is letting unrepentant, habitual sin harden your heart to unbelief.

12See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. - Hebrews 3:12-13

You can't be covered by the blood of Jesus you no longer believe in to rescue you from the wages of your sin.
This has nothing to do with works except to the extent that your sin leads you back into unbelief and away from Christ's forgiveness.

They have to be one of His in order to fall away from Him. Are the lost sheep not his either?
Jesus was sent for the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And He said, He has other sheep that are not of this fold that He would bring into the flock so that there would be one flock and one Shepherd.

...If they keep believing.
If the Word remains in you, you will remain in the Son and the Father:

24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. - 1 John 2:24

It's a conditional statement. Remaining in the Son is conditional on the believer retaining the Word in them in continued believing.

Here it is again:

I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2
I firmly believe you should live the faith you espouse is true. Conditional Salvation. And as you work to stay saved, once you die you shall know the truth. Shall the truth make you free then?

Losing salvation is not a biblical option
True. My belief is that there are Christians who think salvation can be lost and are worried that they could lose salvation but are still saved. If however someone is boasting in their good works and how they earn salvation then I may wonder if the person is truly saved.

Yeah, we know that. That's why they are in hell today.
And these Israelites in hell today, they most definitely had the gifts and calling revoked. The gifts and calling of God have not been revoked for later generations of Israelites who will one day walk in them again. But somehow this is supposed to mean that no one individual believer ever, anywhere, can have a gift of God revoked. That's not even what the passage is about (Romans 11).
Jesus = irrevocability.

Calvinism is where your beloved osas doctrine comes from.
You knew that, right?
I’ll type slowly so you can keep up. I don’t care what osas says. I only care what Jesus Christ says. If osas lines up with Jesus then that’s all well and good.

If you are still characterized by your old life, not the new life of a saved person living for God, you may well not have the new life you claim to have.

But if you still don't get it, then you answer the question:

16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. - Matthew 7:16-20

You tell us, how much work and fruit is enough?
So in other words you’re afraid to answer my question. That’s good to know. You stick with your works kid, I’ll stick with the saving grace of Jesus Christ through faith in Him.

...whoever believes in Him has eternal life. Christianity 101.
We all believe this. But some say believing in him and having eternal life in you has no correlation whatsoever to how you act, because if it did that can only mean salvation is by works. Some say you can stop believing in him and you still have eternal life, because if that wasn't true that has to mean salvation is by works. Christianity 101 got very confused and complicated by these man made, Spiritless reasonings.

The simplicity of being saved is this: You continue to be saved if you continue to believe in Christ's blood for the forgiveness of sin.

2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. - 1 Corinthians 15:2

24As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25And this is what he promised us—eternal life. - 1 John 2:24-25

Nobody here thinks they literally maintain their own salvation.
The argument is they continue to trust in the one who keeps them saved.
my bible teaches Jesus saves us, keeps us and finishes/completes the work of fakth in us pal....and you may be able to pull the wool over her eyes and a few other blind people, but none of us that know the truth buy your anti-God drivel that clearly peddles a self maintained salvation dude!

My posts are directly aimed at false teachers like Judges, PS, and a few others that say salvation can be lost, we must maintian it by our works or maintain our faith or some other religious hoop jumping bs...they are deceivers, false and peddling gospels which have no power to save.....!

The Pharisees would get so angry with Yeshua/Jesus and His disciples because they (even Yeshua/Jesus) were not doing the works that THEY thought should be done.

Yeshua/Jesus would go round and round with the Pharisees about works on the Sabbath. Even though Yeshua/Jesus, The Word of God, was speaking directly to them, they still rejected Him because they chose to do the "works," so focused on works that they missed Yeshua/Jesus on the day of their visitation.

I wonder what became of all those Pharisees........ How surprised were they when they had to bow the knee to Yeshua/Jesus on the other side.......

I prefer to be a "Mary" that enjoys sitting at the feet of Yeshua/Jesus, listening, loving and believing every word He says......... not busy with works and upset like Martha.

I wonder if Martha stopped what she was doing and sat next to Mary at Yeshua/Jesus' feet......

I would love to sit at Jesus' feet and hear what he had to say. His words had such life and love in them. Even in his rebuke to the lawyers in Luke 11:46, I see his heart for others.

Though I do believe in Jesus still I feel like I would like to touch the scars in his hands one day.
