Yes of course they can. That might be the wrong answer for some of you.
Let me qualify. Atheists can have a happy life. The afterlife however we dont know. Their eternal life is the question mark.
example... a moral ethical person raises a family with love. no huge dramas. no huge tragedies. Long and happy life. they try not to think about what will happen in the next life and just focus on this one.

I almost descibed my brother there. He is a kind of very reluctant theist. Lapsed Catholic. I wonder what thoughts entertain him as he approaches mid 70s. surely he must wonder about the afterlife. How depressing to think it all ends soon. doesnt he want to reunite with his gorgeous family? i think he does.

Solomon said a life without God looses its deepest meaning. I have no idea how a meaningless life can be happy. Depression is sad not happy.

Atheists don't exist. Everyone has some kind of a God to glorify. The God of a person who claim to be an atheist is himself. He can be happy because he seeks glory for himself.
not necessarily

Turning to God is helping me get through a tough situation.
I've always believed, but when you find yourself facing drama and don't know of any solutions, I'm telling you what, God is the answer. Somehow, you become closer to him when your life is on a crazy path. It's hard for me to imagine not allowing God into my life. I trust in faith. 100 %. As far as the afterlife goes, I don't think a lot of people really think about it. Although, how can they expect a good afterlife without this faith? Makes you wonder.

God is the ideal friend. One you can trust totally. Wise and all knowing. I can see He has helped you Wings. You are full of the Spirit!

God is still helping me. I'm struggling with a situation and I know things will work out as he intended. He never gives you more than you can handle. When I'm at the end of my rope, He will get me out.:)

Faith is forever.

Atheists are not happy. They are grumpy and are dressed in black😂.

I’m just kidding, some of them even wear pink😊.
Ummm......... I sometimes wear pink........ but it looks good on me.

Sorry! I had to do it!!:D

No, I haven't gotten the courage to talk about it yet. I'm working up to it since I'm getting comfortable here.
if anyone criticises you for weakness or lack of discipline please ignore.

The afterlife of an atheist is not a question mark. They're going to Hell.

I won't go into details out of respect from an atheist I once cared a great deal for. But they have said some of the most miserable things my ears have ever caught because they have severed themselves from any hope of transcendent meaning. They have this unshakable confidence that all human behavior can be weighed by instinct or that all phenomena can be explained by atomic activity.

This is because they are often intelligent people who have introduced a sort of cognitive dissonance in their lives. They realize this as well- a common claim against Christianity is that we dogmatically believe because it's a crutch against meaninglessness and insignificance. It's logical to conclude they perceive the need or at least desire for such a crutch because most of them ruminate on it enough to consider it a logical case for the "why" of belief. I think this is, in part, projection.

Most "nones" are agnostics, Marxians, and people given to the folk superstitions of our day. They are not true atheists and the atheists themselves will tell you so. That's because atheism is a truly miserable and untenable place to settle.

Eh. I guess a Marxian could be a true blue atheist.

More of your typical militant Atheists would claim this is a form of "state atheism" and therefore invalid. Which I suppose is fair as far as it goes, but they don't give Christians the same rhetorical luxury when they slap us with "wars of religion," "Spanish Inquisition," and so forth.

People can experience happy times in this world as Atheists.. Plus all the other positive and negative emotions that ones life in this world can cause one to have..

But true peace of mind.. The peace that only comes through knowing Jesus and knowing you are Redeemed ??

That cannot be had by atheists..

Know Jesus know peace.
No Jesus no peace..
