with tax collectors and prostitutes.
But can we substitute modern day sinners?
Even over the top sinners like pedophiles, human traffickers and serial killers?
I guess if they were repentant but still.......
a repentant Stalin?
So Jesus spent time with lepers. Isnt that a symbol of society's rejects? Jesus would be happier to spend time with those in jail than the rest of us? As long as they have discovered true humility I imagine.
I just wonder if those that society scorns the most now are looked on more favourably by God.
Jesus was focused on saving people who where headed to the eternal lake of fire.. We should also desire to see people saved from this eternal torment.. Yeah some of the sinners in this world have done exceptionally evil things and have been the cause of great physical and emotional pain and devastation.. But even a man like Adolph Hitler will personally experience far more suffering in the lake of fire then all the suffering his decisions caused millions of people on earth.. More then a million times more.. So a Christian,, if they had been given the opportunity to share the Gospel with Hitler in the last days of WW2 as he was sitting in his deep bunker under Berlin as the Russians closed in, A Christian should have had a go at sharing the Gospel with Hitler in the hope of saving Hitler from the lake of fire..
God looks favorably on the repentant sinner who has contrition for their transgressions and who trust in His will..
Psalms 34: KJV
18 "The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."
Isaiah 57: KJV
15 "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
