Body Of Christ - The Definition. The Body of Christ is a common, yet complex term used in the Christian faith. Some may initially think we are talking about the physical body of Christ, as in His human form on earth. But the term "Body of Christ" actually refers to the members of His church, throughout history.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:26-27
I never regard myself as proof of Jesus' ressurection.

I have no problem being childish so I must be real special in Gods eyes.
Being as a child toward God is to trust Him as a child would their father (in ideal circumstances or close to it).

Being childish has a slightly different connotation ;):giggle:;)

yes of course. but why was special mention in the Bible made of prostitutes and tax collectors?
They were probably looked down on by society in general and many people did not like tax collectors. That is my guess for the special mention. Jesus loves everyone. Jesus loves people who society looks down on or are outcasts.

sorry i am on a small phone keyboard. my answers will vary in quality.
No worries :) I tend to keep my responses short and to the point for a number of reasons :D

People do sometimes read into that less than generously, but that is on them.

NIV NT use of "Tax collector."

Matthew 5:46
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Matthew 9:9
[ The Calling of Matthew ] As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

Matthew 9:10
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.

Matthew 9:11
When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Matthew 10:3
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

Matthew 11:19
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

Matthew 17:24
[ The Temple Tax ] After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”

Matthew 18:17
If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Matthew 21:31
“Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.

Matthew 21:32
For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Mark 2:14
As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.

Mark 2:15
While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

Mark 2:16
When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Luke 3:12
Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”

Luke 5:27
[ Jesus Calls Levi and Eats With Sinners ] After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him,

Luke 5:29
Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.

Luke 5:30
But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

Luke 7:29
(All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.

Luke 7:34
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

Luke 15:1
[ The Parable of the Lost Sheep ] Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus.

Luke 18:9
[ The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector ] To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:

Luke 18:10
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

Luke 18:11
The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

Luke 18:13
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Luke 19:1
[ Zacchaeus the Tax Collector ] Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.

Luke 19:2
A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

Again, no mention in the gospel of John :)

I know that Jesus was able to hang out with sinners without being affected by them. I know I can with a certain level but I don’t know if I could with all and everyone... I’m not sure my own human indignation wouldn’t creep up...

God will have to help me deal with that.
