WRONG!

Psalm 16:10 (HCSB)
10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol [ A Hebrew word for either the Grave, or the Realm of the Dead.]; You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.

Isaiah 5:14 (HCSB)
14 Therefore Sheol [ A Hebrew word for either the Grave, or the Realm of the Dead.] enlarges its throat and opens wide its enormous jaws, and down go Zion’s dignitaries, her masses, her crowds, and those who carouse in her!
Why do you keep saying wrong? Both words Hell and Sheol mean the same thing.... a place where dead people go.

It came from the Greek PAGANS. Not exactly a Christian term. Even they had enough sense to know it was hell lol.

Hades noun
Ha·des | \ ˈhā-(ˌ)dēz
Definition of Hades

1 : the Greek god of the underworld
2 : the underground abode of the dead in Greek mythology
3 : sheol
4 often not capitalized : hell sense 1a
It was the word used by god to write that particular passage (the inspired words of the author)

Hades is the word, not hell

They are two different places

How are you this fine morning? Another day we are not in Hades (where we deserve to be) so blessed immensely By God!
I'm okay. :) Had an apartment inspection with the landlord this morning. I just ate some chips and spinach artichoke dip and now I'm watching a documentary about Jim Morrison on Youtube.. lol

Why don't you try to help those people instead of bashing, belittling and making fun of them like you do everybody who disagrees with you?

I don't believe in works salvation.... you don't see me treating them like they're sub-human just because they don't understand something that God allowed me to understand.

Can you answer this question without bashing, belittling and making fun of me? I think not.
I get this put on me a lot too!

Its because we are WARRIORS (Granted from different backgrounds, different sides of the fence lol). We all know time is tax-money and once we believe we got the truth on something we wont fall back on it, not one step back and its set in stone, fresh from mount zion!

I can only speak for myself and im TRYING to work on it, TRYING to become more friendly! But when you are in the UNDERW0RLD dealing with the vilest of individuals, you dont exactly play around the campfire singing together we are strong! You got to be strict, firm, sometimes insulting and take it even further if NECESSARY to protect your reputation OR you will get STOMPED OUT, make no mistake about it.

AS i am trying to be friendly, IF i get annoyed, my brain automatically reverts to my normal state. I am too IMPATIENT or just too EASILY ticked off. I dont know HOW LONG I have to wait to get rid of this mentality.

If I insulted and bashed you as well KJV1611 IM SORRY!

I'm commenting on something that someone else said, I didn't bring this back up.
Do I need to check with you first before I make a comment and get your permission or can I just respond to people as they post?

You guys don't phase me at all, I could care less what you think about me, say about me or how you speak to me.

What bothers me is when you do it to others that might be too intimidated to respond or respond the way they would have had they not been ATTACKED and spoken to like they're lower than a dog.

And if you think by being rude, condescending and making fun of peoples beliefs is being a warrior for Christ, then you need to re-think it.

Look, you can tell who knows what they're talking about in this forum by their MOUTHS. Anybody that is so IMMATURE as a Christian that they can't bridle their own tongue and control their hate doesn't know anything about the bible. You will know a true Christian by their fruit and love for one another.

Apology accepted. :)

My devotion this morning was all about the words we use; whether or not they build up or tear down, encourage or discourage. How often do we think about this?

Every time I'm off this site for a few days/weeks, I come back on and see new people arguing minute points and straying off the OP of this thread. Why is that?

As followers of Jesus Christ, can we not define our arguments in the peace and love as He did without denigrating one another? Before anyone responds, I confess I am as guilty sometimes as another with harsh words, condemnation. I'm working on this. My words either glorify Christ or hurt His cause. It's all up to me. How miserably I fail.

I think this tangent got started right here. At least that's when I joined in on the discussion about hell.

stillness said:
Then remain ignorant. I rest in God who told me: I don't need your help. He doesn't need my help to convince others to walk in Love. The Holy Spirit convinces us of sin. Jesus did take our sin mature to hell and was saved by the Holy Spirit and why we can't be saved by our works: we have been sentenced to death by God. Our Hope is the Way Jesus made in Himself. You seek to quarrel is the dead work that you speak against and are ensnared in by judging others.
And DCon said this:
This post reeks of pure ignorance....Jesus did not go to hell genius.....He went to paradise, Abraham's bosom....HIS DEATH ratified the New Covenant and his shed blood SATISFIED the law's requirement......

my beliefs based on reading the KJV.
I prefer the english translation of the KJV over others too, but it is not the only true translation of the written inspired word of God.

If you believe so, can you show me what's wrong with every single other translation in every language?🙂 (if you can't do that but believe only KJV is acceptable then maybe you should rethink your unproven beliefs)

If this is not hell, a place of torment and sorrows located in the heart of the earth, then what do you call that place?
I can’t help you

I can’t help you if you won’t believe the words written in the Bible.

you, like DC have no clue what hell is.

Revelation 20:14 King James Version (KJV)
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
...

_______

I would like to ask you for every meaning of the word hell from back when it was translated into english from the original language.🙂

(for someone who clings to a specific modified version of Gods inspired written word... you seem to not care much about the words being used)

I will gladly discuss those things if you start another thread. I have been told not to derail this thread and I'm not about to start debating bible versions on this thread.

So if you want to discuss this, I'm more than happy to in another thread. :)

Sorry I was not completely caught up, maybe pm would be a better option some other time.

I just personally believe God did a great job preserving His word and though I love the KJV deeply, I still go to strongs for an attempt at a deeper understanding sometimes, and have been blessed with truth more than once from it.

I also believe our brothers and sisters who study using a different traslation as thier primary bible can reach all the same answers through the Holy spirit, prayer, fellowship, and honest reflection.

Strong was just a man who wrote a dictionary and concordance, he's not inspired, he's just interpreting and giving his opinion just like everyone else. PM me if you want to discuss it. :)

Yep

Just like those who interpreted the KJV english bible, just ordinary men who interpreted greek, hebrew chaldean and latin words into the english language and called their book the king james cersion. Not inspired
