On Rahab being a harlot. I think "harlot" may not have been the best translation, so I would like to know what other verses lead you to believe she was. i am just saying, to have that much flax, she had a business that wasn't prostitution.
I would have to research it. Without reviewing the passage I thought the Bible said she was a prostitute but I would have to go read it to say for sure.

I had to think about this a bit but the verse is for future believers so in that respect you are right.

I`ve just always thought about it in terms of the first post on this thread. If you look at it, the poster is wrestling with the differences between what Jesus told His crowd to do and what Paul told his crowd to do. It`s what got me started in creating all this controversy over the Jesus gospel / Paul gospel things. It all goes back to that first post in this thread.
Yes. On the one hand I almost agree with the intent of the OP...

But on the other hand I don't quite agree that the Lord Jesus and Paul taught different things.

They just focused on different things in their "ministry"...

The people that the Lord Jesus were talking to were still under the law of Moses, the Old Covenant.

It was only after the Lord was crucified and Resurrected that the New Covenant was "installed".

That's why I showed Matthew 11:28-30 and paralleled with Galatians 3:24-25 to show they were saying the same things, NOT a different Gospel.

If you study what Jesus said about His actions on the Sabbath you will find no violations. He did violate the traditions of the Pharisees but he did not violate the Law. He said He is Lord of the Sabbath and what he meant by that is that He had sole authority to interpret the Law. Which again, if you study the incidents you find Him interpreting the Law for us as He explains his actions.
Jesus gave his reasons for working on the Sabbath and so set the example. :)

It`s like the 2 gospel vs 1 gospel argument. It`s splitting hairs. Along with another guy who helped, we put up some things about what Jesus taught last night in the Galatians Conundrums thread if you`re interested. I don`t feel like putting it up again today

I`ll mention this though because it hasn`t come up yet.

Hebrews 8

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

According to Hebrews 8, which is quoting Old Testament prophecy here, The New Covenant is a covenant with the nation of Israel and it won`t be implemented until Christ returns (see verse 11) so the New Covenant isn`t implemented yet. The Bible does declare believers to be ministers of the New Testament which is the gospel.

My apologies to whosoever has doctrine that this Bible truth destroys.

Its so sad when I see people that have "theology" that prevents them from coming to Christ RIGHT NOW and receiving His Blessings and Gifts.

But in the end, you can't give someone else the faith that has been given you. You can only show them the faith that you have...

To me, all it is is EXCUSES to reject Christ and go back to working at the law. But I'm sure it is much more than that. Strongholds that only come down in Christ...

Romans 9:6-8
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

I can't make you see this but at least you know I'm not making it up...

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

That`s a very sad fact of life. No one wants to think they aren`t ok.

I try to repent early and often and I want to be the best Christian I can be though I come up short at times.
I go hard at people sometimes, especially online but I am already guilty of not sharing Jesus with people as much as I should have. I have some concerns about that. There`s been plenty of times I chickened out because I didn`t want somebody to dislike me. I know it`s important to tell people the truth about the scriptures and for what God has allowed me to know I feel a responsibility.

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
There are sometimes when compassion within a given situation, or scenario, can give one the "sense" of "chickening out."
I've experienced the same thing myself! Through the years however, I've "discovered", that this is how our Father implements, for lack of a better way of explaining it, His "wit-sec" (witness security) program. Or? Can be referred to as "Rem-Sec" (remnant security). In a "kinda" "bloom where you are planted" type of way, whereas, we, being good "tillers of the soil" that we are, and do, don't allow for the "tares" that are all around us, and within us STOP us from "pressing on" to the High Calling of God, in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, and "advancing" UNTO our Father, as we are confessed by Christ to He, who SENT Jesus Christ!
Which as I'm sure you have noticed, many of our "constituents(?)" just don't seem, or have the capacity of "getting it!"
1 Peter 2

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

This is what happens when one leaves "Babylon" (confusion).

Oh! My apologies, for my lack of "netiquette", in not welcoming you here to CC. And condolences :))), for finding your way onto this thread. ;)

( FWIW? kinda like the local knife and gun club.....if you haven't got one with ya? It's best to not come in. :p)

1 John 4
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Because we want to know what you think so we can properly converse with you instead of assuming

Why is the question so hard?

Go back and read this thread, it seems to be a habit of those who want to tell people the law is still to be held even today by all people. That the schoolmasters job is not yet done even in people it led to christ

They refuse to answer easy, simple direct questions

Then ask yourself why is this so? And why is it only this particular group of people. What are they hiding?

I can only speak concerning myself, EG.
I can not only tell you what I'm "hiding."
I can tell you "where" I'm hiding! Which is why you don't understand, neither what I say, and have been saying, to you and others, but also, why I'm saying it.
As to "what" I'm "hiding", is the end of this current earth and heaven age! This means the end of THIS "everlasting!"
As to "where" I am hiding? Is in the Father, as well as in the Kingdom of Heaven.
As to the "why" I'm hiding there?
Is to keep modern day scribes and pharasees, such as yourself, and others, who have been deluded into believing they are saved eternally? From killing a fellow "brother in the Priesthood" after the order of Melchizedek, as y'all kilt Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

But Please! Keep believing your "surfacy" interpretations of scripture! So that the finiteness of your minds, grinds against the word of God in your hearts and spirits, to fit your "surfacy interpretations" and traditions of men, in your "stablishing the law!" WHAT LAW? The "perfect law of love?" :p
By the way? How's that working out for y'all?

Jesus points to Himself.

" I am the Door" " I am the way, the life" " whosoever believes in Me"

so, you see, on the Mount of Transfiguration , God the Father ( the truth of Trinity) came down and said, in the presence of Moses ( the Law) and Elijah ( the Prophets), and said of the Son " hear Him".

this elevates and seperates the words in red above all other Scripture.
It seems like the If JESUS were to come walking around the corner the judeizers would run up and try to hug HIS shadow rather than hug JESUS HIMSELF.

Hey, Simple!

We were wondering where our favorite legalist went.

We've had to fight with RS because you were gone. And now you say we aren't even worth fighting with... How sad.

Maybe one of the other legalists will come in and help out. Not sure though, no one really likes being on the losing team.
Swarming and attacking like a pack of animals isn't the way of children of the Most High. One is more than enough lol.

Joshua 23:10
One of you can put a thousand to flight, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as He promised.

God fights for you yet you have to earn your salvation. Do you see the irony in that?

I’m at a loss with this post because it looks like you’re saying it right here.
He referenced what the law says about the Sabbath regarding sin. But he never specifically told anyone here to obey it or not...but those words are being attributed TO him. "Put in his mouth".

Feelings of conviction within one is being projected ONTO him.

...and this is often the problem here...most so called "law-keepers" here have never told anyone here to do anything. They've simply repeated what the law or the scripture says.

The Holy Spirit alone convicts. If one confesses to have the Holy Spirit, then evidence/proof of that is one will be convicted of sin, because that's the Holy Spirit's main job. That's what He does, guides us into all truth and Righteousness.

Now important note: conviction =/= condemnation. Again, conviction is NOT condemnation. There is no condemnation for those in Christ but the Holy Spirit convicts because that's how we are matured and perfected.

...Until we achieve the perfect image of Christ.

Not once will you find where I've claimed to earn any salvation. You have to attribute those words to me.

The irony is that person is imaginary.

If I am argumentative it is because I seem to be battling everybody here. If I seem evasive its because I`m not a fast typer and have limits as to how much matereal I can respond to, hence I complain sometimes when I am bombarded with irrelevant questions.
Have it your way. Maybe Moses only wrote two books.

You are battling many in here yes!
But, not all!

As far as being a fast typer? I was out of town several days, and upon my return? I find I'm 20 some "pages" behind the ongoing fast paced current page!

(page 330 out of 350 currently......o_O :p)

There are provisions in the law for atonement and sacrifices. Torah observant Jews made mistakes and sinned just like anyone else. But these provisions made it possible for them to cover their transgressions.

Hey RS,

I think it is important to consider who you are speaking to. If you go outside the topics of Grace and OSAS the spirits that guide their hearts and minds get real snippy as if you are trying to free their slaves. That is a real problem! If they have agreed with these deceiving spirits, then unless they ask to be freed, you will never have the authority to free them! And, in an odd, metaphysical, spiritual sense there are rules that govern these matters. Rules that God Himself honors as a matter of free will. If someone willingly agrees to be deceived because it is more carnally satisfying to engage in slander and lawlessness then they "belong to another". While you walk in the light, there are limits to who you have the authority to free. Pray about it this is Eph 6:12 stuff we are dealing with.

Bless YHWH! Know and Keep
