I agree also about not being scriptural for a woman to say that Christ is their husband. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong about saying that but only there is no scriptural basis for making such a claim.
Isaiah 54:5
"For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the LORD of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.

Isaiah 62:4-5
It will no longer be said to you, "Forsaken," Nor to your land will it any longer be said, "Desolate"; But you will be called, "My delight is in her," And your land, "Married"; For the LORD delights in you, And to Him your land will be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So your God will rejoice over you.

John 3:29
"He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice So this joy of mine has been made full.

2 Corinthians 11:2
For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.

John 2:9
When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom,

Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

Matthew 9:14-15
Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Mark 2:18-20
John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, "Why do John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. "But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

Luke 5:33-35
And they said to Him, "The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same, but Yours eat and drink." And Jesus said to them, "You cannot make the attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you? "But the days will come; and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days."

2 Corinthians 11:2
For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.

Revelation 19:7-9
"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb '" And he said to me, "These are true words of God."

Revelation 21:2
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come " And let the one who hears say, "Come " And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

But do you really know Jesus the groom? Many make an idol of Jesus, the Jesus they say they know is only something made up in man's head. If you have snubbed the Lord God the Father, never learning to know Him, then you don't know Jesus but only something man creates. Jesus said if you know the Father you know me, and the opposite is true.

To know the Lord (the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is the Lord) is to know and live with truth. Those who live only in the flesh are living a life that isn't truth at all. The world might have given them a doctor's degree in some category, but they are basically ignorant people.

Don't be like the blind men who met an elephant. As each felt only one part they described that part as the entire elephant such as a wall, spear, tree, snake and the ear felt like a fan. From the beginning of our time, God is one and that one consists of many parts including Jesus.
Magenta gave a negative on this, and I think it is so very important for us to all truly know the Lord as the Lord truly is. Won't you tell me why you think I am wrong by thinking this is what scripture tells us?

I've been retired for years, now, and devote my time to scripture. I think it is so important to get it right. Christ tells us that many will say "Lord, Lord" and He will say "I don't know you." I want to get it right. I want I and the Lord to know each other.

Yes, your sermonizing is old. What makes you think I need you pontificating at me?

James
4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

This is an incredibly interesting question/topic. One I will have to think on.

I understand both sides, but I lean towards there being nothing wrong with saying your in love with Jesus.

I do think it probably means something different to everyone, which is what causes the issues against saying it, but I’ve heard plenty of people use that expression about things they are truly passionate about music, food, people, and art for example. It’s great to be so passionate about Jesus and all He has done for us.

I love the relationship you describe in the OP. Praise God you are feeling so close to Him and that you desire a deeper relationship.

Because you are a human being created by God who loves you and wants you to meet Him. Because it would be wonderful for you to be able to say the Lord's Prayer to the Father in heaven, and to repeat and mean it when you say the 23rd psalm. You met the Son, it was glorious wasn't it? Imagine if you meet the Father also.

Jesus is equal to the Father

Philippians
2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;
2:11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Perhaps you mean well but I believe she's referring to your Holier than thou appeal. If she was a new Christian than fine but you have no way of knowing that. Seems a touch arrogant imo

So Right! It is so wonderful, this God who created us and operates our world. God is complete with the Creator, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We have our Creator God, the Son who died for our sins and leads the way for us, and the Holy Spirit that helps guide us from within.

I didn't remember the scripture: Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. I'll make it part of my meditation.

Arrogant!! I am reporting about scripture and I am nothing, scripture is all. If I get scripture wrong then I'm of no use as a reporter and my wrongs need to be set right.

I truly feel that understanding God without the Father as the creator is people getting it wrong and not letting in the entire beauty and glory of Christ for Christ and the Father are one. I think it needs to be said, but being arrogant, self righteous or judgmental just has no part in that. If it is a wrong report of how God is and what scripture says then it needs to be corrected. I have absolutely no importance in this or should "me" as a person enter in. Scripture is important and the subject.

I feel so sure it is so fundamental that even babies in the word need to know God is one and God created, forgives, leads, is Holy, all of the wonders of God. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Apparently, there is a scriptural basis for saying that Jesus is your husband. My bad per usual. Your perceptions and estimations are most always spiritually sound and I have learned a lot from your posts through the years. Keep up the good work. :)

My apologies for my tardy response. It was partially due to the fact that I hardly know what to say in the face of your assumptions. I also did some more work on this panel to share with you, and I do no have as much time as I used to for such endeavors, so it took a while :)

Lately the more time I spend at Jesus's feet, the more I just want to stay there. I think about Him all the time. I'm really loving reading the Bible and learning more about God. I just want to be in His presence all the time.

People have told me it's wrong for me to say that I'm in love with Jesus.

What's your opinion? Is it ok to say I'm in love with Jesus or should I just say I love Him? If you can back it up with biblical references, even better. Thanks.
I don’t think so because it’s a spiritual love not a physical. I understand and totally agree with you. When we get called home , there will be no more need for physical things ,they will be all spiritual.
