Homosexuals are born that way is not true. It is a lie to justify their lifestyle. Most of them were molested when they were young. After being assaulted, a horrible spirit began messing their minds. These spirits have served satan for over 6,000 years and they know every trick in the book...to destroy lives. No unsaved man or woman stands a chance to fight against these evil spirits. They just get worse if they don't get saved now.

From a purely scientific perspective, there is an innate neurological preference for the same sex in homosexual men. That says nothing about belief and faith, that's just objective evidence. Neither political nor representational. Just a fact.
This is true, science has found it hard-wired into some people's dna. That just shows how much satan has been able to infiltrate our flesh over the ages. Our fight against principalities has become a fight against the flesh. A fight most of society has deemed not worth fighting any more.

There is no conclusive evidence that it is genetic.

your point is what? that gay doctors of the APA made a determination of what is a lifestyle to sway the supreme court. The APA is an ungodly organization there was no vote not all doctors agree with this. Yes, I know many theologians with MD's and Ph.D.'s what is your point? I am in education as a director. I see first hand the foolishness. None of that is an excuse for what is wrong and sin. I think most people today are in serious moral trouble. You had what?
Agree, the APA is a very politicized organization...much like the AMA in the United States.

There is still no salvation in genetic disorders ...

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Matthew 15:

Strawman arguments. Distractions from the OP thread
this is about a professed Christian attending a same-sex wedding and reception.
The thread is about why would a Christian do this?
Because I contend that gays are no different than any other non christians. if they don't get save they are all going to hell. So whats the difference gay or straight Muslim or Buddhist. I'm sure the lake of fire won't care. The question should be whether to attend a non christian wedding or reception..

Yes well.... this sounds lovely but it is not the biblical lens.

Why you make ask your euphemism for sin ..... "struggle"

Their "struggle" is sin.

There is no love in the absence of truth, that is only sentimentality.

Jesus did not die for our "struggles"

The irony is I do not struggle with sin because I have a Saviour from sin....but sometimes I do struggle to get out of bed.
Life in general is a struggle God bless you that you have attained perfection.

Paul is basically saying if God can save me, His poster child for amazing grace, He can save anybody!
He is not saying his identity with past sins, his identity is in Christ now

;)
He plainly identifies himself as the worst of sinners in the present tense. We do not know what the thorn in his flesh was. He said he becomes all things to all people that he might save some. That is how he identifies with people, and how people identify with him. Yes, God can save anyone and everyone. I have made that point multiple times, including to you, and to the person who said the gay couple had sealed their fate as if there was no hope for them. Was I the only person to address that? It seems some allow blatant error slide by while they nitpick whether God wants us to love kindness, to show mercy to others, and walk humbly with Him. He draws us to repentance with loving kindness. All I see some people doing here is arguing against that.
your point is ridiculous. no is trying to stomp gays . .
Who said anything about stomping gays? Oh, you did.

This post of yours is a winner. From day 1 of being on CC it was evident that you will get blasted for making comments like you have here, yet, "All things are possible with God" , "I can do all things thru Christ". and similar verses are very popular. It makes me wonder if it is a "belief" problem? Do we believe what we are reading or not? Seems that quite a few here do not believe all things are possible. It is ok to say it over and over just don't you dare insinuate it is in fact the truth.

Anyway, it reminded me of Rick Warren's video on the site for Celebrate Recovery, when out of his mouth, very first words, "My name is Rick and I struggle with everything." and the audience goes wild cheering. It is upside down and backwards, like some parallel world, good is bad, bad is good. But this is taught to the masses, and the masses eat it up like candy.

Admitedly I am approaching it as a legal transaction and not as a sacrament. That would be different. On new years and valentines day we performed over 300 weddings within 24 hours. It was not a church. We didn't perform sacraments. Weddings were our only business.

Assuming mirror neurons are true

For neurons placidity thing ...
What if mirror neurons for sin is too strong and mirror neurons for righteousness is too weak?

This is something that has been lately been causing me much consternation. I can see why people would give a "one clap" to a statement like that...but cheering makes no sense. It's good that he is honest and maybe that's where the cheering came in?

I've been listening to a fair few preachers on the radio for the past year (radio is something I take a good bit of pleasure in) and there are things that break my heart that people cheer for and things that make me angry that people laugh at. It all gets confusing to be honest. Like how motivational preachers are so different from most preachers I've heard.

I'm not saying it isn't the Lord. I won't make that judgement just yet...except that sometimes some men/women have fallen into error. Pinpointing that error is error in itself I feel. Work out your own salvation. Pray for revelation. Leave it to the Lord unless he would have you speak directly out against it.

I believe the biblical word is "sin" so it would seem to affirm that homosexuality is a sin, as are many other sins "sin" and not a "struggle" somehow means that I have declared myself perfect.

Jesus died for sins not struggles

EDITED (as I am not sure what the poster meant) it is true we can get into this lukewarm funk and be kind of casual about our walk unless we are almost "zapped" out of it because of a critical crisis. To be fair though...I feel like the war against lukewarm Christianity is where some of us are placed and things look different to those that don't have that struggle.

My post may not convey what you are remarking on. What do you mean by that? Only actionable offenses? Does EPH 6:12 have any bearing on the statement because wrestle and struggle (contend against) is pretty similar.

I think we need to present the difficult truth with the glorious Gospel....one without the other is just a mess and feeble.

Those preachers that stand on a corner with condemning pictures of people burning in hell only present one side sadly, yet who is going to come to Christ unless they realize they need a Saviour? People only realize they need a saviour when they understand they fall short of the mark (sin).

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? (Romans 2:4)

The focus of this in scripture is taking God's kindness for granted.

God's kindness/love/grace was sending Christ Jesus to die for our sins

If people want a marriage sacrament they should get one if people want a blessing from a minister they can have one the truth of the wedding and the vows is only known by them and God. The end.

I go along with Calibob's statement that you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

But to hear some Christians talk you would think the unpardonable sin(s) are being gay and having an abortion. When the unpardonable sin is;

Matthew 12:31-32
"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

In Thess 5 for example, these people knew what sin was, they read scripture, the The Prophets, Moses, etc. and were directed to govern themselves and each other. They called each other out when necessary. Surely they didn't say, "You're doing wrong, I can't say what it is, but you are", see what I mean?

12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. 14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16Rejoice evermore. 17Pray without ceasing. 18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19Quench not the Spirit. 20Despise not prophesyings. 21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22Abstain from all appearance of evil.
