The sinners response is "drivel" and "hypocrite" this is really powerful biting stuff.

I thought our guide was the word of God, the Holy Spirit that indwells us, and the reality
of the victory we have over sin and evil in our lives.

But where is the connection someone has between their security in religion and Jesus.
What would happen if the truth broke in and their rebellion was made plain?

Nothing because truth is only significant if we take it seriously else nothing changes.
Listen to Jesus on someone coming back from the dead,

27 "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house,
28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
29 "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
30 "'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
31 "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"
Luke 16

It is why listening and learning are part of salvation, not setting ones own agenda and inventing
grace that forgives unbelief and rebellion when done in full sight of Jesus, with Jesus covering this
sin with His blood, and no need to repent or change ones lifestyle. Only the rich and secure love this
kind of story, because it says their protection and safety is not threatened and they are safe to stay
just as they are. This is exactly what the church of Laodicia believed and the people the prophets
spoke to.

14 They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace.
15 Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them," says the LORD.
16 This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'
Jeremiah 6

Thank you for a very respectful and interesting reply. I have to ask again were they saved and always saved like you?
Saved is saved......NO one loses salvation.....
Maybe I should ask for a YES or NO answer too.

Can you answer with a YES or NO Please?

Thanks and God bless.

I did answer...

a. NO ONE loses salvation
b. The removal of the candlestick is representative of the AUTHORITY being removed from them as a N.T. Church and has no bearing on salvation

SO what......God SHED BLOOD and covered their sin and shame and maintained fellowship with them......nice try....no ceeegar
Your answer does not compute with Hebrews 6:4-6.

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance.

Death, life, heaven, hell, in your book someone comes to faith and these are all figurative
rewards, without import, you are going to be with Jesus no matter.

Except this is exactly the opposite of what scripture declares. Promises are only for the
righteous, the faithful, those that walk in Gods ways and believe in Him.

I do admire you persistence in denying the words and meaning God gives.
But then if one is not connected to the Lord, how on earth or in heaven could one understand.

Cora,
wouldn't it be respectful to accept someone not answering a question,
if they choose not to?

be mindful please.

So do you believe that if a believer does fall by the wayside for a period of time then that's it.

They cannot return or repent even if they want to?

FHS,
I often don't fully agree with many in this meeting ground,
but hub and I do recognize those who truly do Love their Master,
and do our best to love them as He does...

true 'unity' these days would be a miraculous thing...

Did God WALK among the seven churches? Were they saved and always saved like you...Yes or NO? What will happen if they don't repent and obey...are they still saved?

Thanks and God bless

No that is not what I believe. The prodigal son came back to the Father. It is always possible to repent and return, in fact the Good Shepherd will seek those who are lost. What I am talking about are those who deliberately and knowingly turn against God and rebel against Him after first accepting Him as their saviour.

Sorry and thank you for reminding me. I just hope they would be called out too when they do it as well. This should be a policy here. Thanks and God bless.

NIV1984 1 Peter 3:15-16
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Did not the prodigal turn against God and by his actions?
Did not Peter deny Jesus?
I could list a few more.
Are their actions not tantamount to rebellion against God?

The point I am trying to make is

Hebrews 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Above it says "For it is impossible to renew them again to repentance"

You obviously interpret the above verses to talk about believers.

So what separates the prodical, David, Abraham, Peter and so on from those talked about in Hebrews?

How does God relate to either?

Interested to know your thoughts.

cora, GBY also and welcome! -
hub and I see that under your name is, (a new member) -
we have 'called-out' many in this arena, and have been 'called-out' as well -
we try to be gracious and loving whether being 'called-out', or calling-out):):)
it's just part of learning how to navigate the territory and bear the most fruit...

So God remained faithful to them and himself?
He seeks out those who placed a genuine faith in him and made Jesus their saviour?
