The harlot in revelation that rides the beast

I would agree PennEd. Dave Hunts book is very revealing regarding Roman Catholicism, its beginnings and her role in the future as the that woman who rides the beast.

As usual, Tanakh does not know what he is talking about. All of the clues that are written in Revelation are all pointing to the false church of Roman Catholicism. And yes RaptureChris, the woman who rides the beast is indeed Roman Catholicism.

As I previously pointed out, the woman, that city that sits on seven hills, also called Babylon the great, is destroyed during the last 3 1/2 years of that seven year period, so much so that no one will be able to inhabit it. Where in opposition, we see that the camp of God's people, the city that He loves, which can only be referring to Jerusalem, is in habited during the millennial period, with Gog and Magog surrounding her at the end of the thousand years and therefore, Jerusalem cannot be the woman of Rev.17 & 18.

Being dressed in purple and scarlet is just one more clue to who the woman is and it is not Israel:

It seems there are two opinions of the identity of mystery Babylon.

1. Jerusalem
2. Rome


I cant make up my mind which one makes sense. Certainly Jerusalem in kings solomons day was wealthy. And it was captured by the Babylonians. So if revelation details the past then it could be talking about that.
But if its future, why would it be Rome? I dont know if Rome controlled a lot of kings. What do people living in Rome actually think about this...? Do they know that others believe they are mystery babylon and do they care? Has anyone warned these people that Gods going to send a plague that will destroy her in one day?
Is Rome really the centre of all trade?

You are reading Revelation from a 21st Century perspective not from the 1st Century perspective when Revelation was written.
Then Israel had a history of persecution of saints. Jesus told the leadership that the blood of every righteous man from Abel
to Zechariah would fall on the nation and it did in AD 70 Matthew 23. The 1st Century Church was persecuted by Jewish unbelievers read Acts and Paul's letters. That's why the Whore of Babylon is clothed as a Jewish High Priest. Revelation was written to people being persecuted by both none believing Jews and Roman authorities in the first century. The Roman Catholic Church and other established churches that have persecuted Jews didn't exist then.

Mystery, Babylon the Great, which will have the ways of the Babylon of old, and a certain nation will cause it to come back to life, the daughter of Babylon.

They lived deliciously, and in pleasure, and did trade with the world, and prospered them economically.

Represents all the false religions of the world.

Has a system that is anything goes multiculturism, allowing all religions to be practiced there, all ethnic groups to be included in her nation, worldliness, and fleshy pleasures, and money, and material things flowing through her, would work in the world more than any other nation, and promote peace more than any other nation.

And since this nation allows all religions to be practiced they allow the God of Israel to be worshipped, along with all gods that people follow, and all their religious ways.

For the old Babylon acknowledged the God of Israel for a while until they blew it, and the kingdom stripped from them, but they also believed in many gods, and religious ways, but they prospered for putting the God of Israel first among the gods.

So the nation that caused Babylon to come back to life acknowledges the God of Israel, but also allows all religions to be practiced, but although she has falseness she still prospered because they allowed the God of Israel to be worshipped, but like the Babylon of old they will abandon the truth like the Babylon of old.

So this nation that is the initiator of why Babylon comes back to life works in the world more than any other nation, did trade with the world, lived deliciously, and in pleasure, had an abundance of money, and material things, allowed religious diversity, ethnic diversity, mingling with them all, worldliness, and fleshy pleasures, and prosperity above all nations.

Does that sound like Jerusalem, or Rome, for it sounds like another nation to me, and we know what is going on in the world, so it is easy to know which nation it is, which she states announcing the conception of a new order of the ages, and out of many, one, on her money.

But the Pope, and the Vatican will head up the unified religious system representing all the false religions, as the Pope is the spiritual leader of it, and the Vatican, the headquarters, giving heed to the new age movement interpretation of the Bible.

So the Pope, and the Vatican, are going along with that nation, but they will introduce it slowly, and when they have a different Pope he will go along with the new age movement false interpretation of the Bible.

But many Catholics will not follow that Pope, but he will still have the support of the other religions, who will have no problem giving heed to him, for he is saying Jesus is not Lord and Savior, but the Bible was about evolution all along, and Jesus evolved to be an ascended master, and avatar, like they can be when the New Age Christ appears claiming to be God by harnessing the power of nature.

The people who will not follow that Pope when the religions come together is fundamental Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, but they have interpreted them according to the new age movement, and will go against all people that hold unto an interpretation of religion contrary to them.

Is there a certain ethnic group you feel shouldn’t be included? what does race have to do with anything?

What you are is brave. These topics shows how much, in my case anyway, how much I still need to learn. I believe we just need to be patient. We will be with Him forever, if we believe and receive Him. Just take your time and be patient with yourself and His timing to bring His Revealing. Just let the truth of Jeremiah 15:16 envelope you. So according to you I don't know what I am talking about. Then I am in good company because the members of the seven churches wouldn't have known what you were talking about either. When do you think the Roman Catholic Church started? It certainly wasn't around when Revelation was written whatever date you choose. Also check which nation/city was called a whore by the Prophets such as Ezekiel. Which priesthood dressed in purple and wore a plate with an inscription on their forehead ?. In Christs day the Jewish leadership were in league with Rome and certainly rode the beast right up until the Jewish war. That was one reason they had Christ crucified because they feared the loss of their power and privileges. In Revelation Jerusalem is symbolised as a Babylonian whore and a parody of a Jewish high Priest.
Apart from that it gets a bad press as Egypt and Sodom. The two witnesses are killed there and the Antichrists image is set up
there as well not I notice in Vatican city.
