I am not worried about committing Blasphemy.

I KNOW the Power that enabled Yeshua was the Holy Spirit, like the Holy Spirit is our power. And I know it would be pure insanity to ever think the Holy Spirit is a part of the Adversary.

In fact, I have NEVER seen people trying to claim God's power is from the Adversary (which is Blaspheming the Holy Spirit by calling it the same and equal to the Adversary)...

its amazing that people think this could possibly be blasphemy

1. Blasphemy of the HS was the sin of saying the work of JESUS which was done THROUGH The spirit to PROVE he is the MESSIAH is done by satan himself (a person who speaks in an unknown language is not Jesus)
2. It says a person who says this TODAY in unbelief, if he is in fact wrong and later he repents, is lost forever, BECAUSE he COMMITTED the UNPARDONABLE sin. And he can NEVER be forgive (hence the term unpardonable)
3. There is ONLY one thing in scripture which God says will condemn a person. That is the sin of UNBELIEF in Gods provision of salvation. Sorry, but unbelief in tongues is not the same as unbelief in Christ

All these things have been discussed in another thread.. however, It is good to see many others see the same thing, the truth of Gods word.

I agree..............exactly what it boils down to.....unbelief into Christ as being from God.......has nothing to do with anything but that!

He who believes is not condemned.

He who does not believe is condemned already..

I guess we should add. That he who thinks but thinks all people who speak in tongues speak from demons are condemned??

Can’t find that anywhere in scripture

I hear ya............the bible is one of the most embellished and or chopped up books in history........as a matter of fact I fully expect a version with removable pages and or embellished quotes to become a hot seller at some point if time keeps on marching on.....

I am sure they are already out there. As sure as I am that we are in the last days.

Why would you be afraid of this? Unless of course it condemns you. But that's not my intent. Just trying to gauge where others stand on the subject.

And the scripture for that is..?
Nope. The fear is on your side and the scripture (1 John 4) says fear for judgement does not come from God. As God's children, we should know where we belong in these matters and have confidence.

The fear that you are having is to acknowledge the obviously fake gifts being attributed to God which is blasphemy, the one you are trying so much to avoid i'm sorry to say so. This fear stems from misunderstanding the scriptures - God has made clear His plans for His people right from the beginning in the old testament and even without the new testament, one could actually tell that the gifts would cease as soon as the church is established (Jer 31).

Jesus also gave a real judgement day scenario:

Mat 7:21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

I'm yet to see a scenario where Jesus calls those who denied the gifts evil doers but let's discuss about the people mentioned in this verse:

1. They go around doing miracles and prophesy supposedly in the name of the Lord
2. We can tell they are not Muslims/ Atheists/ Hindus/ Buddhists/ satanists because they invoke the name of Christ in their dealings. They must some form of Christians
3. From 1 & 2 above, we can also deduce that they claim to be working in gifts of the Holy spirit
4. From their defense structure, we can tell that they were really convinced that all the works they were doing was from God and we can also tell that whatever they did, they were successful- meaning that they actually prophesied or healed or drove out demons or it appeared to many and also themselves that that they actually did those things when it was all fake.

If there's a group that fits these 4 items above is the Charismatic, and there's warning after warning in the scripture of how satan works to deceive many.

So then where does John 14 fit into that?

12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Greater works involve raising the dead. Can people raise the dead today?

I wouldn't have pitted Jesus against the gifts in the church Ricky. As I said, if someone sees a genuine healing they would not scream "demonic".

When I'm speaking of gifts that I believe have ceased it's in regards to "tongues", prophecy (such as Agabus in Acts).
It is not by sight that we should walk but by understanding. There are enough warnings about satan and how he works in this last days. The delusion is so strong that if it were possible, even the elect will fall for.
In this last days, there's no genuine gift here and fake gift there, all gifts ceased according to God's plan, whatever is happening today is all fake. I'm not saying there's no healing but there are no special people appointed with gift of healing to heal others- that ended during the Apostles life time.

this was done when Jesus was on earth in the flesh. He isnt here no more in the flesh so we cant do it anymore. thats the way i look at this
This is a dangerous idea - that is - relegating the words of Jesus and the events in the gospels to applying only to while Jesus was on earth in the flesh. My opinion . . .

I'm not sure how I pitted Jesus against the gifts. That was not the intent.

Some believe healing has also ceased - and some take it far enough to say any claim of healing is demonic. Again, we're talking about a few people not every cessationist.

Believing all the gifts have ceased, do you believe manifestations of them are then demonic?

YES.

2 Thess 2:9The coming of the lawless one will beaccompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and FALSE wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them.

There are those who claim to have seen it. I was part of a borderline raising of a dead person.

But do you understand what a gift is? it means, if a person has the gift of healing, they can go to a hospital and exercise it all day every day in mass. They can walk in a morgue any day and raise the dead any day all day. That is a gift and exercising of the gift is such.

Once-of events are not gifts and what happened to you was not raising of the dead. Death means the spirit is separated from the body and for you to raise it, you have to sermon the spirit back from God into the body.
If anyone can do that, they can also raise a 10 dead body/bones back to life.

Why? I say that everyday and i know what i'm saying.
What i mean is that there are no special people appointed with special gifts. In the new covenant, everyone is a high priest.

I would ask for an example of Jesus emptying hospitals, but that's not the point of the thread.
