Gibberish. Obviously the idea we should obey Jesus and follow Him, is gibberish.

If we follow and obey Jesus, we have eternal life.
Eternal life is only given to those who obey and follow Him.

But this is gibberish are well.

Without accepting obedience and following there is no eternal life in Jesus.

It is obvious where your hearts are, denying simple obvious teaching of Christ,
and the apostles.

We are to walk like Jesus, to love like Jesus, to know Jesus flowing through us.
Those who walk otherwise obviously have neither listened to Jesus or are following Him.

It is very obvious where your heart is if one is to go by what you post. Of course, only God knows for sure. But you take everyone's posts on here and twist, turn, pull out of context, to try and start an argument. You do not even seek to have a real discussion. Me thinks you are a troll.

That is not what the scripture says.

Look at it and consider it more carefully.

John 14:23 Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
That's exactly what scripture says. But carry on with your chosen interpretation if it soothes your soul.

Oh yes you have. The Holy Spirit is given to believers the moment we receive the Lord unto eternal life. The HS is the only way a believe can possibly obey.
Look at it again:
Acts 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

Go study what Jesus says is a sin.
Following and obeying Jesus is gibberish. That has to be brain washing.
It is like having a driving lesson and believing the driving instructor will drive you everywhere
you will ever go. It is just insane, blind and deaf. Why come to Jesus if you are not going to
listen to Him? It is not deception to just speak the truth.

If you love me, you will obey what I command.
John 14:15

But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 2:5-6

This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:2-3

The real question is why does any follower of Jesus deny these words?
Because they are not following Jesus ofcourse, duh......

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

Did God really say to obey?

Yes, God says to obey!
Gen 3:1 Now the Shining One was more clever than any animal of the field that the LORD God had made. It asked the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You are not to eat from any tree of the garden'?"

Gen 3:2 "We may eat from the trees of the garden," the woman answered the serpent,

Gen 3:3 "but as for the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You are not to eat from it, nor are you to touch it, or you will die.'"

Gen 3:4 "You certainly will not die!" the Shining One told the woman.

Gen 3:5 "Even God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you'll become like God, knowing good and evil."

Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree produced good food, was attractive in appearance, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. Then she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate some, too.

Gen 3:7 As a result, they both understood what they had done, and they became aware that they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.

Thinking you need to read it again...

I understand your teaching. No moral or behaviour commands apply in Christ, only to believe
He died for our sins. This is just a free ticket to disney land theology with no cost.

Said to a God who spent 2,000 years building a nation and teaching them what righteousness
was, culminating in the pharisees who came closest to obeying the law, unfortunately with
corrupt and poluted hearts. And to this you wish ignore it all and say Jesus leaves everything
alone and we walk into heaven. May as well just let everyone into heaven then, just tweak them
into perfection and thats it, no point of a gospel at all........

I am sharing simply what Baptists, methodists, congregationalists, anglicans, nazarene, urc preach.
To accuse me of trolling is not know the faith of which you are judging.

It demonstrates why discussions and biases with people who do not know scripture and its meaning
can be pointless.

John was very harsh on those who claimed to know Jesus yet could not love their brother.

The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Wow .....what a twist,

Salvation is.....
by grace through faith apart from works

You do not understand the source (grace) and the reason of our walk and accuse us of being lawless... tsk tsk!!

11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men. 12It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.…

So what act of obedience causes one to receive the Holy Spirit? See (John 7:38-39; Acts 10:43-47; 11:17,18; Ephesians 1:13). Choosing to believe the gospel is the act of obedience that causes one to receive the Holy Spirit and become saved. (Romans 1:16)

I often hear works-salvationists cite Acts 5:32 and Hebrews 5:9, then write a blank check with the word “obey” and fill in whatever amount of works they feel are necessary to be saved, but that misses the mark.

This is the saddest post I have read.
There are a lot of people who buy into a world view, but see this stronger than scripture.

The sea of faith is resolved in who our foundations are locked into, Jesus and the cross
or reassurance and security. Unfortunately reassurance and security will never get us
reality or knowing Jesus and His purification of our hearts. There is no easy way of saying
we need to pursue everything with vigour and be brutally honest about who and what we
are. If we can do this before the Lord we have a hope, but to have our own very hearts as
our enemy deceiving and trying to stop righteousness and love ruling is very hard to take.

But this is why we become blind to Gods word, because it will mean resolving things we
find too hard to resolve even if this sends us to Hell. But that is our risk in Jesus, to give
up our lives and cast all upon Him, so our foundation is built on the strongest rock in the
universe, Amen.

Hi UG,

What is your hope? To walk like Jesus or carry on as you are?
Does sin burn you and you hate it, or just live in compromise because God is ok with this?

You too twist what we say.

Once we are born again, we are no longer sinners. In Christ we are the righteousness of God. As we learn of the ways of God through the revelation of Jesus, we love Him more and more. But, even in the beginning, we love Him for God is love and He dwells within us.

You should read your bible and concentrate on who you are rather than what you were. And us too for we are one if part of His body. Much to your surprise?
"we are no longer sinners"

Aaaannddd there we have it. Finally.
In fact we are forgiven sinners. Daily sin, daily repentance, daily Grace and forgiveness.

Sure, as Christians we do not ALWAYS sin all of the time. We are in fact obedient from the heart many times.
But rest assured our visage is marred by sin day in day out. The Apostle John included.

Did you know you only need ONE drink and you will never thirst again?
Do you know we only die once, and then judgement?
How you answered implies you have no goal at all.

If you are not listening to Jesus, you certainly will not listen to me. God bless you.

Does God scare us? Yes.
Is it hard to follow Jesus? Yes
What is hard? Being brutally honest with ourselves and learning to trust Him with healing
and wholeness as we walk in faith and not sight.

Without me getting scared a lot of things I would do that I should not.
I have almost died and maybe I am not scared enough.

Fear is not our problem, our problem is being scared of God and sin, and not taking seriously
the cross and how to follow as well as the cost involved.

But if you think this is just a jolly trip with Jesus into heaven, sorry guys, that is not Jesus
of scripture, but only of delusion and easy believism.
