"A person cannot get that kind of heart unless they are saved, after repenting of sins and believing.
We are told to humble ourselves and repent of our sins."

Stones: Are you new to faith?

Stones:I agree it's after believing and turning to God in repentance. But true humility is to be renewed in our minds with His Word. Not legalistically though. We aren't literal Jews. Spiritual. His Word is within us actually when we receive His Spirit.

"We still have to obey God, and He tells us more than just believe and do nothing."

Stones:What does, without me you can do nothing mean to you?

"It is the good person whom Jesus saves. Jesus tells us how."

Stones:

Oh? How?

5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind, who makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

6 He will be like a bush in the desert, and he won't see when good comes. He will dwell in parched places in the wilderness, a land of salt, without inhabitants.

7 Blessed is the person who trusts in the LORD, making the LORD his trust.

8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by a stream. He won't fear when the heat comes, and his leaves will be green. In a year of drought he won't be concerned, nor will he stop producing fruit."

9 "The heart is more deceitful than anything. It is incurable—who can know it?

Jesus said only God is good. That tree must be cut down, Know what I mean? We can only produce fruit through another tree.

No, not at all.
I agree it's after believing and turning to God in repentance. But true humility is to be renewed in our minds with His Word. Not legalistically though. We aren't literal Jews. Spiritual. His Word is within us actually when we receive His Spirit.
We have to do what Jesus says. It is true trust and never ever wrong.

"We still have to obey God, and He tells us more than just believe and do nothing."

Jesus was warning his disciples not to leave him.
No one is without Jesus if they are obeying his words to be saved.

A person who does good must come to God through Jesus in acknowledgement that all good is from God.

See John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 18:37 ...Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."

How do you view the New Covenant? If you don't mind my asking. It's my view if this is rightly understood, it will clear up some confusion about obedience. No one is teaching disobedience. Only that it's not what gives us entrance into the presence of Father.

what do you know?
you do not even properly define sin.
how can you properly speak of not sinning when you do not even recognize what sin is?
Lol. It is not me who defines sin, it is God, and it is He who convicts us of sin that we need to deal
with.

You are addicted to the notion, missing the mark, except you cannot say what the mark is.
God defines the mark, and how we walk with Him.
Notice the theme, get close to God and you will know the difference between light and darkness.

You want so desperately to be dismissive, yet this is not because of your walk with Him, rather
because of the opposite. I encourage you to know His love and mercy, to open up to His forgiveness
and purification of our hearts with His blood and body on the cross, which transforms us into His
children. And as His children we desire to know Him more and walk closer to His ways, because that
is our heart. Do you not share this passion?

Thank you for asking me this question. The new testament/covenant is Jesus coming to earth and giving the rules and guidelines for his last will and testament. Jesus told how to be an heir and what one must do to receive the inheritance. When he died the testament came into force for all. All last wills and testaments must be followed exactly.

Faith alone is dead and cannot save.

James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Faith alone is dead and cannot save.

Wow.

If faith cannot save and is dead then no need for faith.

Then we do not need faith to save but works to be saved.

Is that what you are saying?

Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance comes about through the Law, it no longer comes about through the promise. But it was through a promise that God so graciously gave it to Abraham.

4:
28 So you, brothers, are children of the promise, like Isaac.

29 But just as then the son who was conceived according to the flesh persecuted the son who was conceived according to the Spirit, so it is now.

30 But what does the Scripture say? "Drive out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman must never share the inheritance with the son of the free woman."

We receive when we believe. Obedience to what He says. The failure in the beginning. Another voice intervened.

There are two laws, the old one and the new one. The old law is no more. There is a new law.

We receive when we believe.
There are many people who believe and go on sinning as always.
We have to do more than believe.
I gave many scriptures that say faith alone does not save.
I gave many scriptures where Jesus says to obey.

We receive when Jesus accepts us.
Obedience to what He says. The failure in the beginning. Another voice intervened.
Could you explain more what you mean?

I understand that. To love others as He has loved us. Always forgiven.

We will with being in Him. Clothed with Him. Filled with His Spirit. The power is not of us though. That's why I say one tree must die. That tree will differentiate between acting good or acting evil.

Or Jew and gentile. Jesus took this away and has made us all in unbelief. Only belief will free us.

The old law was commanded by God and no one could be a child of God without obeying it.

The old law cleaned the people outwardly and it was required.
The old law condemned anyone who did not obey every word.

Moses made them confirm this with an Oath. And paul re-itterated that in Gal 3.

No one was ever made clean by the law. That was never its purpose.
