How?
What did you mean?
You said I might not be a sister in Christ because I "believe in works salvation".
So? That doesn't make me a Chrisitian?

You could explain you know.
Did I say you might not be a Christian? NO! I don't know.

You add to peoples posts. I know a poster from another forum who did the same.

Faith is actually a substance in the supernatural realm where heaven is. Father sees it and responds.

Religion is not what I have. Life in Holy Spirit.
No Stone.

You said you don't believe we could be one and that you used to think like this too.
Now you believe you need to stick with those that agree with you.

This a a RELIGION.

Religion is the set of beliefs, feelings, dogmas and practices that define the relations between human being and sacred or divinity. A given religion is defined by specific elements of a community of believers: dogmas, sacred books, rites, worship, sacrament, moral prescription, interdicts, organization. The majority of religions have developed starting from a revelation based on the exemplary history of a nation, of a prophet or a wise man who taught an ideal of life.

A religion may be defined with its three great characteristics:

  • Believes and religious practices
  • The religious feeling i.e. faith
  • Unity in a community of those who share the same faith: the Church. It is what differentiates religion from magic.

And you just misunderstood and added your own thoughts to my post.
Hi Stones, I understand what you are saying.

A preacher came to our church and gave a good sermon. It got me thinking, and I saw something
that blessed me. I thought he would like to know the blessing I had.

I shared it with him. He said, I did not preach that.
So we could not share the blessing we had together.

I wonder how many times when we say something, we are just looking for the impact, and not
actually to see how the Lord wants to use it in anothers life.

I come to forums because my heart wants to share and praise the Lord.
And the more I share the more He blesses me. Maybe I am becoming a blessing addict.
And maybe that is actually our calling.

Stephen the apostle was filled with the Spirit. Jesus has risen from the dead.
The pharisees were doing their total denial junk again. So he let it rip.

And they sent Him straight to the Lord. What a glory, what a victory, Praise the Lord, Amen.

My wife and many others have suggested unfortunately these forums take up too much time
with too little benefit. Maybe the focus we have is in the wrong place, and we waste too
much of our lives on things that are not significant.

I know 30 minutes can just go answering just one point, to be read by 2 people. Is that a good
thing or a foolish thing?
It is difficult to step back from here.
I'm not as frequent on here as I used to be.

I came to realise that it was taking too much of time.
But my wife and I coming up 25 years of marriage came to realise that in a few years time our kids will have flown the nest and that we needed to focus on each other.

So now we have date nights, from watching TV from out childhood (Highway to Heaven, Colombo and so on), play card games, go out for meals.

I have also decided when my kids need help I get off this site.

So my time on here is when it's my time.
I enjoy it when I do.

We shouldn't really not let this site cause us to neglect the family and any physical ministry we have.

My thoughts.

OK... Then maybe you need to be more careful as to what you say.
Here's what you said in post no. 88,632:

You preach works maintain salvation. I have no idea whether you are a sister or not.

That sounds like you have no idea whether or not I'm a sister in Christ.
Because I preach works maintain salvation....

What have I said that makes you THINK I may not be a Christian?
If I can PROVE that works maintain salvation...why would you not accept it?
Why does it make you feel so uncomfortable???

I'll post some scripture later.
Dinner time now....

Respect and true love is posting truth. All about Jesus and His work. I'm not in disagreement with my brethren.
Very sad to hear this.
It must mean I'm not your sister in Christ.

Sad indeed.
And which LIE would you say I posted?

Could you list it please and post some supporting scripture to support your belief,
that is exactly the same as your brethren....

And so other Christians that do not agree with you are not your brethren?
Sad indeed.

This is what false doctrine brings to.

Passover- born again, new birth, faith in the blood sacrifice
Pentecost- Baptism of Holy Spirit-- fire
Tabernacles- fullness.

I don't know who are born again. We judge what comes from the heart don't we? We speak what is in our heart.

I was a medications nurse. I learned to listen and to read exactly what was said, or written. Lives depended on this.

It's not hard if we stop and say to ourselves....what exactly is this person saying and put our own thoughts and feelings aside.

This is all emotional stuff. Part of the soul of mankind. We are Spirit and should be learning to rule our soul.

Not skipping out...just have works to do. lol

I don't know you Fran.
I don't know anyone here, other than what people have posted and how they express themselves
on a few sentences interaction.

I can feel, and I mean feel, from my experience the types of people and what is being expressed actually
means but I can be wrong. But this medium is very, very limited. 90% of communication is body language,
contextual, cultural etc which is literally missing here.

So within this very limited medium, I can but discuss a few simple points, in summary.
Given this limited nature of the medium, we should simply rejoice when we agree, and hope we
give value to others.

I tried counselling someone through this medium once. Does not work. Best is go and find someone
who can truly deliver a solution and strategy, like Jesus, or a church, or a real face to face interaction.

What is truly sad is if this is the only christian interaction someone has. That is tough.
God bless you.

Hi Hevosmies, lots of memories come flooding back, on this thread there are several who have served and are serving our country in the Armed Forces. Personally I served in Vietnam from 1969-1970; US Army 4th Infantry Division, 4/42 Battalion, honorable discharge.

Currently I am fighting a different sort of battle that most friends on this thread understand. While serving in Vietnam I came in contact with Agent Orange, a toxic anti-foliage used as a tactical effort so that American Soldiers can see the enemy through the dense jungle.

As a result of coming in contact with agent orange I have developed prostate cancer. My wife and I were joyfully serving God in my wife's country of Thailand. Five years ago we returned to USA so that I could receive a more effective cancer treatment and so here we are serving God the best we can with my disability.

Anyone remember the P-38 military type can opener. Freeze dried long range patrol meals were introduce during that time. Previously our meals consisted WWII C-Rations that were opened with the trusty "P-38" can opener, heat on an open flame with C-4, and then consumed. Some favorites were, "beans and wienies" and canned peaches for desert.

P-38 can opener...:)

Surely obedience is manifest in some measure as works correct? Be it prayer, preaching and proclaiming, denial of the world, succor, alms and so on and so forth?

Agreed?

SALVATION has Nothing to do with works, it happens the moment Genuine Faith comes in with the holy Spirit; in fact it is predestined according to this VERSE: 2 Tim. 1:9

AFTER SALVATION, We will find a LOVE INSIDE OF US, that is a GODLY LOVE, and therefore OBEDIENCE is part of our LOVE, and we cannot claim credit for it, is was POURED into our Hearts (human spirit) by the Holy Spirit, ROM. 5:5.

Ah...
But WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

We each think we have it.
I like to go to what Jesus Himself said...
But the other Apostles that wrote the N.T. of course agreed with Him because they were taught by Him.

Jesus said we will be judged by our works:

John 5:28-29
28“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
29and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Jesus said the Law is not abolished:

Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Jesus loves those who follow His commandments:

John 14:21
21“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

Jesus said to do good deeds and obey Him...as Abraham did:

John 8:39
39They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.

My goodness stone.....

I said that I believe we should stick together and be in one accord...
To which you replied in post no. 88,625...

"I used to think the same way. Why can't we all be in unity. But, two can't walk in unity if they disagree. So people gather with likeminded. "

You clearly said that you USED to believe like I do...that we should stick together and be of one accord.
BUT NOW... you said you USED TO THINK LIKE THAT, but that two can't walk in unity if they disagree..so people gather with likemind.

Please let's stop talking about this.
Apparently you and I don't understand each other....

believe:

G4100

πιστεύω

pisteuō

pist-yoo'-o

From G4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being to Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.

Total KJV occurrences: 248

The Messianic Jews put the emphasis on ENTRUST, putting your whole TRUST in JESUS or what ever you say you believe in. Way different than the English word Believe.

I have mention this analogy before:

If two Jews walked up to a frozen over Lake in early winter, and JEW #1 said to JEW #2,
"Do you Believe the Ice is thick enough to walk on yet?"
And JEW #2 said, "YES, I do believe the Ice is thick enough." And then put one foot out to test the ICE.
JEW #1 would YELL, "LIAR, if you really BELIEVED it was THICK enough, you would have walked out there and put your whole weight on what you claimed to BELIEVE.

That is the definitive difference between what a JEW means by BELIEVE, and the much lesser meaning in ENGLISH. You do not put your WHOLE TRUST in JESUS FOR YOUR SALVATION, you are a LIAR.

Yes our works will be judged.
As Paul states in Corinthians.
But I don't think genuine believers salvation will be judged.

I think you agree with that.
If not please let me know.

What exactly do you think you posted that is new???????

BELIEVE means exactly what you state above.

So, what's the problem?
I've been saying for almost a year now that BELIEVE is not the English believe but the Greek believe...which is the same as the Hebrew.....

Do you finally admit that I'm right?

I think you agree with that.
If not please let me know.
Almost going to dinner...
But I'm not sure what you're asking.

First of all, what's a genuine believer?
To me a believer is a believer.

So you're asking if believers will be judged?
According to Jesus...yes.

I believe this because in every instance I posted above to Stone...
Jesus never spoke about believers...He spoke about works/deeds/doing good.

I don't know how to get this across...I know it's me...
It's a given that Jesus is talking about believers.

Those that do not believe are lost from the get-go.
The N.T. is always speaking to believers....
Jesus was trying to teach us the way to get to heaven...

He said we're to be born from above...
Then everything else He said had to do with doing good.

If you don't agree tell me why...
