Could you direct me to the post where he said 1 win = unsaved?

I'm not defending him. It's just that it shocks me to see a man say what Jesus and Paul said and to see him attacked for it. You just don't expect to see that in here.

if you go back and read his posts before you try to rebuttle my post towards him you would see (assuming you werent being biased) that i was speaking against the false message of the man

i have never and will never speak against a verse

and even now you say "see him attacked for posting a verse"

which isnt true...

so again you still seem confused

i gave you a thumbs down for comments like these

That is not true; it is from the father of lies. We can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. And that would include not sinning.
I will go out on a limb and put all of my chips in and bet that you and every other believer sin every single day. Go back and read what Grandpa wrote about this question, he provided many scriptures to support the fact that you and every other human saved and unsaved will continue to sin until they drop dead

Living in Godliness is the fruit of believing in Christ.

These many people may have believed in the existence of Christ, but they did not believe/entrust their spiritual well being to Christ; have faith/reliance upon Christ for salvation. In other words, they do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) and were not saved.

*Jesus NEVER knew them (Matthew 7:23).*

Notice that Paul said to "work out" your salvation and not "work for" your salvation. When we "work out" at the gym, we exercise to develop our body that we already have and not to get a body. Farmers "work" the land, not in order to get the land, but to develop the land they already have.

The Greek verb rendered "work out" means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing the process of ongoing sanctification, which is the result of being set apart for God's work and involves the process of being conformed to the image of Christ. This conforming to Christ involves the work of the person, but it is still God working in the believer to produce more of a Godly character and life in the person who has already been justified by faith.

W A Criswell emphasizes that Philippians 2:12-13 "must be read together for a proper understanding. “Work out your own salvation” means to “work out,” not “work for.” A “works salvation” is not being taught. The idea is to progress to the finish or completion in spiritual growth and maturity. This process is what the Bible calls “sanctification.” It should be noted that Phil 2:12 makes it clear we are to be active, not passive, in this process. However, though we are active, we are not alone. Phil 2:13 reminds us again that the entire salvation process is the work of a sovereign God and the result of His grace (Ed: Ministered by the indwelling Holy Spirit).. (Criswell, W A. Believer's Study Bible: New King James Version. 1991. Thomas Nelson)
Then it is clear that we need good works for salvation and not faith only.

we need to work out until we die or when Jesus returned again.

Even demons have faith (James 2:19)

so SOLA FIDE is unbiblical.

Faith in Christ must be accompanied with good works.

Jesus said, believe in me and you will be saved. He didn't mention any necessity for works, He simply said as many as believe in Him will be saved. I don't get why you guys have to come after Christ and add all of your own rules to what He offers for free.

I understand greedy religious organisations do this, they add a whole bunch of laws which they know you can't keep. Then they sell you indulgences and get out of hell certificates. Don't be deceived, for many false prophets will come in my Name "Jesus Christ"
Even demons have faith (James 2:19)

Even greedy pastors who built religions as another form of business have faith in Jesus (by asking a lot of contributions especially the 10 percent)

but these dogs or greedy pastors will go to the lake of fire in Revelation.

so SOLA FIDE is unbiblical already.

Faith in Christ must be accompanied with good works.

There is necessity for works. read 2 Peter 1:5-8.

ADD to your faith VIRTUE, THEN KNOWLEDGE, THEN SELF CONTROL THEN PERSEVERANCE, THEN GODLINESS THEN BROTHERLY KINDNESS THEN LAST LOVE.

You don't need good works to be saved, Jesus saves you not your good works.

Guess what, when you're saved all you want to do is good works. So you don't do them to be saved you do them because you're saved. Does that make any sense to you?

No Christian will ever argue that we must do good works if we are saved. But that comes only after we are saved, before that we sinned 24/7

you are being contradictory here ha hahahahahaha

Jesus saves you from the power of sin like what happened to Paul and other Ephesian Christians (Ephesians 2:1-5)

but you are not yet saved from the power of hell fire because you need to work out for your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)

how to work out for salvation? just live in Godliness (2 Peter 3:10-11)

just remember 2 Peter 1:5-9. and read it well the GOOD WORKS that you need to add to your Christian faith ha.

okay I am done with you bro thanks :)

The only difference between you and I, is I admit the truth and you deny the truth of the matter.
You have been deceived into believing that you are sinless, but God says all have sinned. So I would not listen to the One who whispered into your ear and said, "hath God said". Don't believe Him, remember how He deceived Eve.
You show me where I said one thing about myself

There is no verse in the entire Bible that says we will continue in sin in and through Christ.

When James says “faith only” he is talking about an empty profession of faith that merely claims to be genuine but demonstrates by the lack of works that it’s dead (James 2:14).

Faith in Christ is the root of salvation and good works are the fruit. No fruit at all would demonstrate that there is no root.

“Working out” our salvation has to do with ongoing sanctification, not to be confused with Justification.

In James 2:19, we read that the demons believe “mental assent” that “there is one God” but they do not believe/entrust their spiritual well being to Christ; have faith/reliance upon Christ for salvation. Their trust and reliance is in Satan, as demonstrated by their rebellion in heaven and continuous evil works.

Are you Roman Catholic?

this is biblical scripture defending OSAS

1 John 5:13 New International Version (NIV)
Concluding Affirmations
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

in light of this bible verse, if OSAS is false, then how do we make sense of this bible verse?

It's not that our faith "must" be accompanied by good works in order for us to become saved, but that it WILL be accompanied by good works IF we truly are saved. You put the cart before the horse and teach salvation by works.

*Man is saved through faith and not by works (Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9); yet genuine faith is vindicated, substantiated, evidenced by works (James 2:14-24).

*Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not based on the merits of our works.

*It is through faith "in Christ alone" (and not by the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (Romans 3:24; 5:1; 5:9); yet the faith that justifies is never alone (solitary, unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine (James 2:14-24). *Perfect Harmony* :)

OSAS_is_true: faith, not by works
OSAS_is_false: you are a hieretic, don't you even read the bible, are you blind, OSAS is false doctrine
OSAS_is_true: OSAS is not a doctrine, you need to read the word ...

is this how the debate typically go?

There are no conditions to retaining God's free irrevocable calling and gift of eternal salvation.

Put it in terms you can recognize now as pertains to receiving a free irrevocable gift. Do you work so that the person who gave you that birthday present, or Christmas present, doesn't take it back? Did they give it to you because you worked for it? Or did they give you your birthday or Christmas present out of the goodness of their own heart?

This scripture does not say we have to labor to stay saved.
2 Peter 1:5-8 5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ.

It tells us how we come more and more into the full blossom of being righteous examples of what it means to be saved.

Salvation is not like a set of keys to lose. It is always with us and all we have to do to keep it is to be humble and admit our mistakes and ask for forgiveness of them. If however we turn our backs on and start worshiping false gods then who could blame God forsaying depart from me I never knew you. It's something each christian must figure out for themselves. Our Salvation did not come cheap or easy Christ died for it and we must recognize that and realize that it is he and only him that will make the final call.

God is omniscient. Eternally knowing all things. He tells us he knew us by name before the creation of this world. Do you think he would then waste his breath calling those to him and his son's redemptive blood baptism if he knew he would have to strip it from us because low and behold we acted like the old dead self ? That which is dead the moment we are saved so that in salvation we rise as a new creation? Thinking we can do something to cause God to strip his grace from us is to say we can resurrect that which we formerly were and have it take over the new creation God bestowed.

That's giving more power to man than God.

I respect what you said and I knew which side of the fence you stood on before I made the post Ostrich. I've heard this debate for nearly 40 years. I believe that the most important thing I stated was that salvation cannot be lost like a pair of keys and that the lord is always there. Will the lord forsake us? Of course not! But what will he do if we forsake him. I don't know. That is up to him. So that's where I stand. That's all folks!

According to Galatians if you stop believing in justification through Christ you will no longer be an heir in line for the inheritance.

If you stop believing in justification through Christ, you never really believed. If one truly believes, they hand everything over to Jesus who will never fail them. They will continue in faith, until they receive their inheritance
