I confess that I don't know what they are saying. However, woman's role is to be the helpmate of the husband (Gen 2.18).
I would encourage you to dig a bit and find out what the Hebrew word behind "helpmate" is, and how else it is used in Scripture.

I have checked "Other" since those who reject what the Bible clearly teaches about the role of women will never change their minds. That is a part of the Satanic deception which has entered into the churches.
Read the question again. I never asked what the Bible says about the women's role or whether anyone will accept or reject it. I asked what you think of the men on this forum who teach it. Are they "Other?"

I think some (not all!) of these men have very weak egos, and are threatened by women. Let God take care of it! If women like myself are wrong for following God's call.... wait, I am following God's call, don't care a bit what some of these annoying and angry men are saying!

I also think that the KJV is a frequent source of bad doctrine. Not that the version isn't a good one, but people don't understand the language, and make all kinds of mistakes in interpreting it.

I just thought I would answer this poll, which basically I said, men should worry about their own backyard. God is quite capable of stopping women if he doesn't want them to preach. And he certainly has never stopped me!
Then you think some of the men who teach this on this forum have strong egos and aren't threatened by women? I do see some egomania going on with them, but keep thinking that's a sin we all face daily. And I have, as yet, to meet a threatening woman on this site. Then again, how threatening can anyone be on a website? Not like we can come up to someone else's door with a baseball bat. (Just so people know, I don't own a baseball bat.) What's the worst we can do? Tell your-mama remarks?

As for women preaching? That's not the only thing these men have been telling the women not to do. So far I've seen them tell us to submit and shut up. I might have missed the preaching post, although I did see one fellow bring that up too.

Curious what people are thinking since it seems the same people are following the threads, and most seem to ignore them.

(And multiple choice is OK.)
In my opinion a few of the male posters don't have a clue as far as the role of women in today's world. Most of these types of posts are very condescending and contrary to what is actually taught in scripture. A few of them are naïve as well in their content. A lot of these posts provide high entertainment value but, sadly, little in the way of spiritual edification. My only counsel that I offer to the female members is to simply ignore the more ignorant posts. Also, it's OK to LOL and to assign an appropriate reaction icon.

It did not have to become a can of worms, but it has, because some (both women and men) hate what God has said about the roles of women.

As to the Scriptures themselves, they are crystal clear. Everything flow from the fact that Adam was created first, then Eve, but Eve was the one deceived by Satan. Now that same Satanic deception has led to women being ordained and becoming pastors and teachers in many churches.

uh huh

well like has been pointed out before but is conveniently forgotten when it does not make the point someone wishes to make....

that's right! God made Eve from Adam's rib. not his big toe. Kapeesh?

frankly I think the way so many men treat women is straight from the pit. so many men resent women...especially if they are smart, good looking, talented and can hold their own

this is not a personal post to you, but I am addressing what you said about hatred. I think that is your own bias. I think men are uncomfortable (not all) and maybe RESENT the fact that God honors a woman's faith as well even if she does not have a man telling her what to do

if you think things are 'upside down', maybe it's because men do not actually want 'equals'

Also, the poll seems to lump all men into one basket: men who believe that women are not allowed to lead or teach.

That's not the case.
I did lump a group of men together. The ones who are "teaching" women's roles on this forum. It's a small group, (unless this has been going on for years and the men come and go.) And why is everyone stuck on women preaching? The one I've been participating in is about submitting. He hasn't hit preaching yet. And the other one seems to be about women shutting up in church.

Maybe the lumping is coming from you, since I can't see the lump you see.

God wouldn't stop you. You have free will to do right or wrong on your own.
I believe that in Angela's case it is mostly right but this is not done on her own because she serves the express purpose of God in her life. Quite a woman actually. Most churches would be fortunate to have her serve in a leadership capacity. If I lived nearby I would attend such a church, a church that doesn't exclude woman from positions of authority or even lesser capacities. She is most definitely spiritual and with a kind heart. Very decent person and a tremendous asset to society.

I'm not in saying anything against Angela here, wanted to get that straight

however, I AM agreeing with what you say

God will indeed let us keep the course we are on even if it is not His desire. people make that kind of a mistake all the time

that's a good topic for a thread actually

I honestly don't know to answer the question without opening a can of worms and creating a super-long thread.

I'll just leave it the posts I've made on other threads about this subject which express my perspective on it.
If you think answering opens a can of worms, I'd bet you do know. I'm not asking what you think of women's roles. I'm asking what you think of the men on this forum who are trying to teach women's roles. Are you for them, against them, or rolling your eyes?

It has caused quite a lot of talking. I don't know if the can of worms was opened, but if it has, we can always go fishing.

This has been going on for years. I believe the reason is that some men feel threatened by women and the role they play in today's world. Perhaps it's an ego problem or even self-esteem issues. At times it is pathetic.

What do I think? Well... since this is a forum, and it’s all through words on a screen, tone gets lost in the writing. I try my best to give the benefit of the doubt when I read on such topics, but I fail constantly.

As for the brothers who write on the topic of womenz, I do wonder what they see in their daily lives that causes them to write about the subject. Or do they write on the subject based on the women on CC?

Also, I don’t think I’ve seen threads specifically written to men about a man’s role. I’ve only seen “a women should be this, this, this, and that.” Now, it could be that there are threads about a man’s role, but perhaps the title of the thread doesn’t catch my eye, so forgive me if there has been a study.

I have no problem being married to my husband. I see how God uses him. I see him growing in the Lord each day. When we talk about the Word, he doesn’t “preach” at me. I don’t “preach” at him either. I trust his leadership because I see his servant’s heart in first following Jesus and in protecting me.

God never intended for women to be like men. What we have in todays society is an affront to God. Women's liberation has robbed women of the purity and holiness that God intended for them to have. Women are to be lovely and clothed with modesty that God desires to clothe them with. Proverbs 33 does not describe many of todays modern women.

men are just as 'afrontable' as are the women who are 'an afront'

that is what certain dudes here refuse to see but instead want to put women 'in their place'

and then we will have a thread about how the 'lovely' women lead men into sin

gimmee a break

Y'all notice you seemed to have taken this to what is the women's role? That was never the question, and yet most have flipped the question for "what is the woman's role?"

I thought most people didn't respond to those posts because they assumed most women understood how silly that was.

Now I'm thinking most didn't respond because they were too busy defending their own ideas on what others should do. And, here we are once again arguing over everything but what the question was about.

One of the administrators told me he thought there were only 5000 people on this site now, if he would delete the accounts that haven't been active in the last four years. Most forums are for people interested in the same subject to talk together. This one seems to be for people who like to argue just to argue. Which means most are fine with men coming on this forum to teach the woman's role, because they want to do the same thing. Argue just to argue.

As far as forums go, if it works, it works. But considering this is supposedly a forum for Christians, it's a lousy example of what following the Lord is supposed to be about. I think 5000 people on this site is an optimistic number.

Why is it only the women that God intended for them to have purity and holiness? Seems to me like you are treating women like they are some type of fragile china doll. In my observation and experience they are not. Most women, as are men, are made of tough and substantial stuff. What we have in today's society is basically the same as in any society through the ages, women are treated as chattel and not to be taken seriously. This purity and holiness stuff gets cloying after awhile.
