I know how you feel, I was in a relationship with an unsaved person, I am in love, was everything i thought i wanted in life, but it was empty and without God. I applaud your decision to choose God.And ill bet angels are rejoicing in heaven. This is true repentance,. I been standing on the fact that Christ says He is near the brokenhearted. God bless you.

Ya hear that men?
We can go back to Fishing and working on our trucks.
Our work is done

Women may not need a man but if one judges a fish by it's ability to ride a bicycle,
it will always appear unneeded.

Yes, and then they ask 'Where have all the men gone?'

Hi there. Quick recap of my last 3 years. Met a man I fell deeply in love with. Moved myself and my 3 kids in with him. He was raised Catholic but no longer went to church. Some bad things happened in the years prior to our relationship which caused him to think God didn't care about him. I thought I could help bring him back to a real love for God. You know where this is going..
Jump to 2 months ago. I couldn't ignore the promptings of my Spirit any longer. The kids and I left. Slept on friends couches for two months but felt closer to God than ever.
God blessed my boys and me with a lovely apartment and now we start fresh...in obedience to Him :)
Follow the promptings of your Spirit!
I will never make that mistake again. If God has a man for me then he will be in love with Jesus and he will be a Godly example to my kids:)
I sleep on the floor. This is a very nice story. The last sentence is reflective of your spiritual growth.

hahahaaha, this reminded me of both a rather famous phrase, not to mention a favorite U2 song that quotes it...

a woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle

i happen to agree with it though. problems always abound when we find ourselves "needing" a man. : ) hopefully i won't be stoned for quoting a feminist. *shudders*

as to the op, i really hope that you focus on getting right with God, being a godly mom and preparing yourself to be ready for the next chapter of your life, be it with a man or not. i'm so glad you learned from this experience, and it sounds like you will be better equipped moving forward.

oh, welcome to CC!
Ahh, but a fish sometimes needs a bicycle! To find its way back where it belongs...something to think about :)

Thank you for your kind words everyone! It's such a great feeling to know that I obeyed God in some area of my life :). The real catalyst to me leaving was what God put on my heart one day. He "said": "When you are close to Pete (the ex) you are far from ME. And when you are close to ME you are far from Pete."
That was it for me. That equation did not work. God should be in the center of a relationship.
I pray that these words help someone who's going through the same situation..
