There is nothing in the bible to suggest any animal that will inherit the kingdom of God. ( heaven ) Animals, beast of the earth were created for comfort, and for man to have dominion over. Animals have no soul. So how can they enter heaven without a spiritual body? but they have a physical body. Where as we humans have both, spirit and physical body. God Created us that way. If the bible says that animals shall inherit the kingdom of God, then yes dogs, cats and other pets, and animals will go to heaven.

But I'm sure we may remember our pets that we love.

I disagree entirely. I believe animals have souls and get to go heaven with us. if not then I will say to God when I get there( Daddy! I want my kitty cats here with me.) How do you know they don't have souls exactly?

Nothing in the bible that suggest that they will go to heaven. When was the last time you saw a dog or cat praying for forgiveness and getting saved? lol But Don't worry Blain, I'm sure you kitties will meet you at the gates.

Right.. Right... However the bible doesn't say they don't have souls either does it? GOTCHA;b as for praying for forgiveness I don't think animals have sin. they did not eat the fruit and they don't know right from wrong unless you teach them

I would say animals do have a soul, but not like the soul we have. You See?, when God made Man! he made man in his image right? Animals are a living creatures I think that's the closest in the bible regarding animals. However the Bible is somewhat silent on the matter of animals having a soul to go to heaven or does God allow animals in heaven.

Are Animals Valuable to God? Of course, he wouldn't of made them, however he did not made them to accept God plea to inherit heaven. an animal cannot make decisions of that kind.

It’s pretty obvious that animals are important to us and important to our environment. For these very same reasons, they are important to God. Remember that from our Christian perspective, God gave these animals to us and told us that we are to steward them wisely:

Genesis 1:26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

If animals are so valuable to God, if they are living beings that have been created by God, it's obvious we would assume they have a soul like the way we have. It appears that animals are also ‘entire beings’ with more than simply a material existence. They too are ‘living creatures’ with an immaterial dimension that is in some way similar to that of humans.

Let’s get back to the $64,000.00 question: Do animals have souls that are eternal? Do they live beyond the grave like human souls? Will I see my pet cat in heaven? After all this foundational theology, the simple answer is… no. There is something very special about humans. They are set apart from the animal kingdom and it’s NOT just a matter of intelligence. The Bible tells us that it is a matter of ‘image’. Our nature is different in that we have been created in the image of God. The writers of the Declaration of Independence got it right. HUMANS are created equally, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. We are unique in that regard. We have a moral, spiritual and self awareness that allows us to make a CHOICE for God.

And according to the scripture, Heaven is the realm of those who made the choice to surrender to and worship the God of the universe. Heaven is the realm of those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior:

John 3:15-16

everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
.

John 5:24

I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

The ability to accept Jesus as Savior is unique to humans. We are in the image of God and this means that we have those three distinct qualities that separate us from other animals. As a result, we find ourselves seeking God and finding Him incarnate: Jesus Christ. Other animals simply cannot do this and therefore their souls DON’T have the ability to do what human souls were designed to do… enter heaven through a relationship with Jesus.

funny you posted this picture with a boston terrier in it. best dogs ever.

i lost a boston terrier right in front of me due to old age.. i know shes in heaven. angels come to get animals just like they do humans.

the whole house felt new that day.. didnt feel like the house that i grew to knew.. my daughter was in her crib in her room talking and carrying on with something that same day that the house felt a "new" feeling... this feeling and my daughter talking to somebody that wasnt physically there wasnt a coincidence.. and that same day, my dog left me.. i truly believe an angel came to get her.

God loves all of His creations. God put animals and PETS here for a reason.. our pets become a part of our family.. God knew what He was doing with our pets being family.. they are family forever. heaven isnt only for "humans" and human-like angels.. heaven has animals up there to. God wouldnt forget to include any of our loved 1s in paradise. its a place to reunite / unite with loved 1s we knew and lost and never got a chance to meet.

lol thanks.

i posted this same story in more detail in a thread in the miscellaneous section a little while back with a picture of my baby i lost! lost her about 2 years ago.. still miss her to this day.

humans tend to have deeper connections with our pets than we do with other humans.... God made it this way..

now tell me God wouldnt include our pets in heaven.. thats not believable. you would have to really try to convince yourself otherwise.

Animals do NOT have souls. They do NOT go to Heaven or to Hell.

First point - Souls

According to the Church Fathers animals do have a soul. It is not quite the same as a human soul which was enhanced by the breath of God during man's creation. But yes, they do have a soul and share in the glory of God to the best that they are able. Animals are without sin and God speaks to them through their instincts. What makes creaturely man so very special is his being created in the image and likeness of God, which confers special responsibilities and the gift of free choice.

Second point - Prayer for the Animals

We do pray for them. Who needs prayer more than the marginalized, or those who suffer because of someone else? Remember our first parents Adam and Eve? We continue the trend. Animals show us God's love in many ways: their service to and with us, their example of unconditional love, and simply by existing in their varied forms, habits and habitats they show us the power and creative action of God. Of course we pray for them. The Church prays for all of creation. In addition, Holy Scripture and the Saints instruct us in compassionate care, and Holy Scripture and Church Services instruct us on what our role is in regard to the animals.
