I don't know what the problems were?
I suspect that the problems were with the administrator himself. He could administrate just fine, but the Moderation part came hard to him, I think. He did a lot of things without any real explanation that cut into the heart of what had become a close knit community. He rarely shared why he did certain things to the community so if we needed to change behavior in some way we were really in the dark. On a lighter note, I'll just say that when I posted that it was sinful to say anything negative about hamburgers... maybe that was the last straw ;). Chris should have had a few Moderators working the Board from day to day. He could have simply kept an eye on the Moderators and guided them where he felt he needed to (since it was his board).

There use to be the Rapture Ready Forum. Then they changed the name to Rapture Forums.
Rapture Ready and Rapture Forums were always two separate forums. Many presume that RR morphed in to RF but when RR was shutdown after a virus pretty much made the site unsalvageable (would have had to have wiped everything clean and start over) just about any RR member who wasn't already registered with RF moved there. They were considered sister sites by most but were own and run by completely different people. I'd always looked at RF as kind of a mirror site to RR which was the predominant of the two and I believe remains so.

Welcome!!! .:). So sorry to hear about all the distress losing your former forum has caused so many people....
Thanks Magenta, and sorry I just barged into your forum without even acknowledging you and the other current members. I was so relieved to find Rapture Forums members here that I forgot to not be rude. Thanks for your nice welcome. Our forum was maintained like an oasis for those who believe in the pre-trib rapture. THose with other views were welcome to join but it was the only place on the internet where those with other eschatological views weren't allowed to argue with us. This gave us a place where we could openly discuss current events through the lens of Bible prophecy, the way we understand it and believe to be true, without our discussion being swallowed up by a debate. There were members there who are incredibly knowledgeable, and some of the threads I would have printed out had I known they would just be gone one day. I learned so much during my years there and it was so comforting to be with those who are like-minded. The whole board had such a peaceful vibe that I actually read posts to relax and go to sleep every night. I am grieving not only the loss of this oasis but people I truly care about and love. There is a lady there with cancer who actually ministered to me while I had covid and I am beside myself that I'll never see updates from her again. Several members were overwhelmed with problems and were depressed and counted on the fellowship there. And for some this was their only fellowship. I could go on and on. This is every bit as painful and shocking as when I went through a church split years ago. Our community really was like a church and the moderator was like our shepherd and I'm so sad and shocked to realize ,that he actually doesn't care that he was a shephard and doesn't care enough to try to keep us together. I guess I allowed myself to get too attached to people.
Sorry for the vent.

Yes, it was just too much for one person and I noticed that the other moderator stopped moderating and slowly disappeared from the forums. I suspect that they had a difference of opinion about how threads should be moderated. Although I appreciated so very much the way things were done, (so that we could discuss prophecy in peace) I felt he got overly controlling the last couple of years. The way he attempted to moderate the prayer forum, for example. It was kind of ridiculous. I don't even know how he did it all, dealing with his own health problems on top of it. It's obvious he just cracked under the strain and walked away. Without praying about it first because if he had the Lord would have told him to recruit other mods rather than shut down such a sweet and precious community. I am just sick.

Frankly it was an astoundingly selfish and immature move. I'm angry that he wouldn't even consider raising up some Mods to help him out. You, Andy, Lismore and others were practically doing it already in so many ways, and you would have been very qualified and able. Im never going back to Rapture Forums (ironic name for the site!) ever again. Will get my breaking news and prophecy articles elsewhere.

Thank you so much for such a thorough reply... no need to apologize! I appreciate
knowing so much about not just your former site, but you as well... your heart.

Please pray for the former members of Rapture Forums, especially for those whom our community was like family.

The first forum/chat site I participated in as a Christian was myspace, and it also went bye-bye, but we had plenty of warning, as the site was to be sold, and then it was reclaimed for its original purpose, which was for musicians to connect with other musicians. When that happened, all the boards were deleted. It was a secular site, though, with very little Christian moderation; however, the Religion forum was very active! Over a period of four years I spoke mostly with non-believers of many stripes, and was pretty new in my Christian walk in those days. Facebook had not yet become as popular as it eventually did. When myspace shut down near the end of 2011, I eventually went to CARM, which is a Christian run site with extensive sub-forums. I again spent most of my time there speaking with non-believers, before joining here almost eight years ago. CARM's owner joined us here for a very short time, also.

I peeked at your profile, and saw your favourite verses are from Hebrews 4:1-11.
I have not designed a panel based on anything from 1-11, but there is this:

Hebrews 4:12

TAll Timbers thanks so much for keeping your screen name - so glad to find you & the others here.
If you run into someone with a screen name which is a strange sounding Scottish place, then it's probably me! (Fillan was a Celtic Missionary from the 9th Century and there's also a beautiful little Highland village, St Fillans)

Lol, Hi @ANDIAMO, good to see you and @MissyM!

I agree with the above, I actually found this site by googling TT's screen name! I recalled that he mentioned Ronny (SeatedWithChrist) had moved to another board with more open permissions, so I figured TT might be there, or would show up somewhere.

Thank you to all the CC'ers who have so kindly welcomed us!

I wonder if we could make a thread with a searchable title as a signpost for other members?

@Magenta, I use Adobe Creative Suite apps mainly, but a few years back discovered Procreate which is amazing on iPad with the pencil. I use that mainly for sketching ideas, notes, etc, but occasionally for finished work. One of these days I will get around to making Scripture typography posters. Two ideas in the hopper are "Tetelestai", maybe in Greek characters, and "Via, Veritas, Vita", then with their verses integrated.

You were not rude! .:)

You Are Welcome! God Bless You
Eschatology is one area where I don't really venture... .:). But I can certainly understand how important
it could be to have a place where you can discuss your views with like-minded others without constantly
having to "put up or shut up" (one of our members actually said that to another here
.. Heh, now that's rude!).

That post about hamburgers I took as nothing more than a lighthearted joke. Laughter is good medicine.

Personally I didn’t care for the way Lovin Jesus was treated. It was obvious she had issues that could have been dealt with by a moderator.

I suspect Matt. 5:4 had a difference of opinion with the forum administrator over this. Of course some of my overly opinionated posts may have contributed too.

I suspect my avatar was offensive to a Alabama fan.

That's all Greek to me .:ROFL::LOL:

I do a lot of brushwork in my designs, mostly for blending and a whole heck of a lot of erasing LOL.
You have an Apple device? I am on a Dell my daughter gave me for Christmas in '21. Right off the bat
the touch pad was not functioning properly (I am back to using a mouse), and six months in the device
completely caved on me and required a new HD, which is much smaller than what I was used to, as my
last three HPs each had a TB of HD space, and this only 250 GB. I lost quite a bit of work
.:censored::cry:. Not all
was lost, though, as I have a portable HD where the majority of my images are stored
. :D. Aside from
issues like that, I really like digital design. No materials to buy or space needed or clutter...
.:unsure::giggle:

You're right, I was one who thought those very things. One site became the other Thank you for clarifying.:)

Hello Tall Timbers, Pixel and 3 Nails!! I was JoyJoyJoy over at RF. So sad it is gone
Hope to get to meet some wonderful folks over here.
Glad to see some other refugees.
