Oh Im not catholic so use a different Bible from catholics.
You seem quite hung up about laws and dos and donts. Most christians that are not catholics do not think that way. we dont get into all quandries of how big a sin is either, as I heard that catholics make distinction between mortal sins and venial sins etc.

Basically anything we do without God is sinful but God gives us the grace to overcome sin theough the blood of Jesus Christ setting us free.

I use a print copy of the Holy Bible its an actual book not on a screen.

Can explain further but our focus is on God not the sins. Sin can be forgiven.

Basically I used it as a pretend gun, I suppose.
My question is, would this be a sin or is it alright?

Twistii - God is not standing by with a clipboard checking off whether your sinning or not. Each of us, whether we admit it or not, sin every - that's every day. We are in a period of grace for as long as the Lord tarries (doesn't return). Once you accept Christ, we begin a period of work, for as long as we live, to be perfected in Christ. We read the word, attend Church with fellow believers, take communion, but for as long as we live, we will not be perfect till we attain a new body in heaven. God will work with you on your sin as your concious becomes more and more tuned to his spirit. God was working on something with me today - telling me, maybe I shouldn't ought to do that. I guess I'm saying, worry less about whether this or that is sin and just tune yourself to God - he will work with you as fast as your mind and soul allow him to.

Simple Twistii - I think you're doing the right thing - asking questions. I just hate to see someone move through life hesitantly/haltingly because they're second-guessing everything they're doing. Read your Bible, pray every day, keep asking questions, and God will reveal to you the right path - he will - he does for me and I am certainly the least of his servants. If I had your youth again, and in your place, I would be in constant prayer for guidance for your life, as you graduate, and move on to marriage, college, making financial decisions. God is love and he would love for you to just lean on him throughout your life and - yes - he WILL guide you. I promise you that!

Regarding "being mean to yourself"...
Remember that your body is not your own. It belongs to God. He's just entrusting you with it for awhile. You are the caretaker. If you don't take care of it, then you're not being a good caretaker. That is sin.

Same with time. You are not the owner of 24 hours of each day. God owns time. All of it. He is gracious enough to perhaps grant you a certain amount to do with as you please each day. But don't ever get the idea that it is yours. You didn't create it. You can't destroy it. All you can do it either use it according to His will or not.

And again with that BLM stuff. I strongly advise you staying far away from all of that. It is not your role to raise "awareness" or fight "injustice". If you get into that you will simply be an expendable pawn serving the interests of an entity far removed from what appearances might indicate.

One more thing...I think Mooncresta is right. Focus on knowing your God more. When you sin, thank Him for the forgiveness you've been given.

maybe try a 'protestant' bible, less footnotes and less books maybe you wont feel so confused and paranoid reading it. I read KJV if its any help. It doesnt have any footnotes, its just all scripture.

From the catholics I knew they always had guilt feelings/guilt trips cos generally they didnt know that Jesus had paid for our sins and they were forgiven and given grace.

Talk to God about it, I would advise, cos His mercies are new each morning.

We are in a period of grace for as long as the Lord tarries (doesn't return). Once you accept Christ, we begin a period of work, for as long as we live, to be perfected in Christ. We read the word, attend Church with fellow believers, take communion, but for as long as we live, we will not be perfect till we attain a new body in heaven. God will work with you on your sin as your concious becomes more and more tuned to his spirit. God was working on something with me today - telling me, maybe I shouldn't ought to do that. I guess I'm saying, worry less about whether this or that is sin and just tune yourself to God - he will work with you as fast as your mind and soul allow him to.

Just talk to God if you unsure.
When I was a new christian I kept a prayer diary because it was hard for me to figure out what to do seeing I didnt have christian parents to guide me.
I went to home groups and all that but the business of starting a new life was on me to figure or work out with God, day by day.

if you are filled with spirit then you'll have nudges and help pointing you in the right direction- listen to that still small voice. God wont let you ignore all those issues and they wll constantly come up if you dont deal to them. You can ask Him for widsom if they keep coming up.

Book of proverbs is good in that way as the verses are easy to remember and apply.

Regarding asking God for wisdom, do you think it’s possible my own personal biases would get in the way? Or even like Satan interfering?

well if you dont ask, you dont receive. God will give us wisdom liberally.
if you think YOU know everything already...you dont. Satan tries to get us to think we know it all. we really dont. God knows, we only see in part because we are human.
when God gives us revelation its for His benefit really and pleasing to Him.

His ways are not our ways as His way is higher.
