I was out shopping yesterday at kmart this time and they have trolleys but the trolleys were all over the foodpath outside cos peoole couldnt be bothered returning them

I dont know if this was because they had not many trolley bays to park them or people just lazy and dont want to put them away. Sometimes they are just left in the parking spaces. I mean is it just too hard to return them back to the store.

And who is buying so much stuff they cant even carry it in their own bags? Most heavy goods already come in a cardboard box so its not like there is no protective packaging.

who goes around kmart buying trolley loads of stuff anyway. the mystery lazy people perhaps?

its much easier to just carry stuff back to the car in your own bags than have to deal with a huge trolley anyway.
YOU try carrying a 50 pound bag of dog food all the way across that big store and the even bigger parking lot. Throw on a couple bottles of diswashing detergent and a few bags of flour for bread making. Oh, and I need a USB cable too. I'll pay for it all, just carry it for me.

Come on, you got the strong SHOULDERS, right?

tip...if a bag has handles you can actually use your SHOULDERS to take most of the weight

That is why a lot of sturdy shopping bags have longer handles. But I guess some people just dont know how to carry a bag..?!

Ok you can only go on a power trip in this thread. You must state your reasons for banning the thing you want to ban.

My thing would be to ban shopping trolleys. I wouldnt ban shops, but just the trolleys. Why, well I think people ought to bring their own trolleys if they are wanting to buy soooo much stuff they cant even carry it. and then those trolleys wont end up dumped in the creek.

If shoppers have a baby they can bring their prams in the shop and stow their goods in the pram or stroller, thats fine. Just no trolleys. Hate them.

They probably responsible for the huge obesity epidemic anyway. Plus people would get fit carrying their own purchases, and they would probably buy less. If you can lift a whole sack of rice, more power to you.
I don't know about NZ, but in most of Europe and at the German store chains in the U.S like Lidl or Aldi, you need to use a coin to get a cart out and you get it back when you put it back in, it seems to work pretty neatly from what I have experienced.

You realize that many, many peoples live quite far away from Grocery Stores? It would be impossible for a Parent or Parents to purchase all they require to provide for their family IF they only purchase what they could carry. They would be making numerous trips back and forth from home to Store to do so. The wasted time, and the excessive burning of fuel to do so would be far more harmful than the Store providing a shopping cart IMO.

As well, many mothers/fathers, when they go shopping, have to take their children. Some may be toddlers that need to be carried. How do they carry the child AND the groceries they purchase?

"S'ides" whatcha got against the good old shopping cart? Shoot, they have so very many uses.......

View attachment 229896

before shopping carts were invented people didnt have this problem, and there were bno such things as supermarkets, everyone shopped at farmers markets and had nearby grocery stores
they took their own
and they had deliveries
milk and veges were delivered to door if you couldnt grow your own, milk and bread was delivered fresh DAILY

if you are so silly as to live far away from other people you dont take your toddlers shopping with you plus you use your own stroller/pram or cart

dads can go shopping pick up the groceries and mums could stay home with the children or vice versa.
not everyone needs to go to the shops. You have a list.

plus you are not allowed to steal a shopping trolley and go skiiing with it.

not impossible people are just lazy. If you do go to work somewhere five times a week you can shop each day and buy what you need.

businessses will realise this and have markets close to where people actually LIVE. usually a market is once a week and nobody has any problems NOt using trolleys.

i saw that once in a movie called The Terminal at an airport, but you know those airport trolley? most people only carry enough baggage they can carry and there is a limit so whoever has more wouldnt evenfit on the plane and would overload it. PLUS most suitcase now have their own built in wheels. So getting a huge trolley is a waste of time.

I think it just depends on which lifestyle you choose or adapt these days to, no right or wrong way to do things. I grew up with markets rather than super markets, but things change, places where I've lived are different from one another, and we either adapt or change to fit our needs and expectations... or not.

well theres like 3 supermarkets all in a row up the road from me and its just stupid. the creek is full of trolleys, and the kmart, while near a creek just has trolleys all over their carpark and in the footpath.

plastic bags are banned and some people were smart enough to take their own reusable bags when they went shopping but I guess its hard to change with some people cos oh no their convenience trumps everything else

when i worked in libraries the manager had these plastic shopping baskets...NOBODY ever used them
even at the bookstore nobody uses them unless they buying a lot of pencils.

Why because people are smart enough to carry what they buy themselves. in their own bags.
I only ever have ONE trolley in my library not 20
if the supermarkets either banned or limited their trolleys then they would not have this problem, not only their problem but an environmental problem they have created and ought to take some responisbility for.

I see elderly with walkers and they actually have little stow away baskets on their walkers that they can use for shopping. I said to them they are smart they bought their own shopping trolley. they can collapse down and dont leave them lying arround.

I would ban Gay adoption.
I would ban any idea or "right" that allows anyone who is not 21 to decide to castrate themselves in their false effort to become "the other gender".
I would ban any and all types of "homosexual curriculum" from all public schools.
I would ban any legislation that tries to add additional members to the Supreme Court.
I would ban Illegals from receiving any Government support in the form of a check, housing, right to vote, or education.
I would ban burning of the Flag.
I would ban the idea that "homosexual" is a "ethnic group".
I would ban any legislation that tries to stop responsible adults from owning a handgun or a weapon of similar characteristics.
I would ban any ban that does not allow for the execution of a Murderer.
I would ban legalization of Marijuana use.
I would ban Transgenders from Military service and from all Athletic competition.

Ok, your turn.

If your country has no borders, then you no longer have a country.
The "Biden USA" is going to prove that correct, if they possibly can.

Were we talking borders? What? But since we are already here... let's do it:
"Illegals" as you call them don't receive government support (at least not welfare) unless it's an aid made by a particular state or private foundation, not legally. They pay taxes and receive nothing back, plus most of them are here to work. They certainly don't receive education if they don't have a SSN. Shows how much knowledge you have in the matter though. How about make LEGAL immigration programs more comprehensive? This is something neither democrats nor republicans have contributed much upon.
Yes, I know the process in and out, had to go through it and pay my way in. So no, don't think I support illegal immigration per se. But I also know the problems the system has, and I also know this is not a Biden/Trump/Obama/and whoever you want to mention problem.

Let me help you with your understanding.

You said that illegals pay taxes and receive nothing back.
In fact, if they paid taxes, they received the Stimulus Checks. That would be the man, woman and granny, and grandpa, and the young adults.
Do that math and see how much it cost the legal taxpayers.
See, You dont know that, because you think you know what you are talking about.
My advice, pick a better group to defend.
Try the Vets, or the Police.

And try this one on your way to discovery...

A growing number of states, including California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, offer or will offer state financial aid to students who meet certain criteria, regardless of their immigration status.

My advice: read posts fully. I told you I am not defending illegal immigration. And my post isn't defending them. But I'm not bashing them either, especially with ignorant statements. I'm making a point of how deficient the immigration system is, and that is a well known fact.

1. I don't think they get their basic needs and groceries from other countries, so yes, as you see they do pay taxes. They did not receive stimulus checks because they don't have a SSN. They might not pay income tax, but hey, so many of us people get away with paying as little as we can so we can get a big fat tax refund right? They don't get that, they dump their sales taxes into not getting anything back from it.
2. How do you know I don't defend the Police or Vets? :) do we know each other that well already?

I'm done with this discussion. It's nonsense to discuss politics when you don't see both sides, just your self-righteous garbage mindset.

Im just responding to the Thread's topic.
You responded to me.
And one more for you........all Illegals get free Healthcare in the USA.
How? All they have to do is show up at a Clinic or the ER, and they have to be taken care of....
The issue here, is this takes money, and its the Legal Taxpayer that shares this cost, and that is not right.
What if your kid just broke their neck and you take them to the ER, and the 8 rooms are full of illegals who all have Covid, and your kid dies because there was no room available?
See, life gets real for Legit Americans , while people want to discuss "those poor illegals".
its ridiculous.

No border = no country.

Again... I never said those poor illegals. Nor I'm for illegal immigration... but sure, whatever you say.
One of the USA political parties , whose VP is a self defined "marxist", ....has decided that a Helping hand or a Hand up... means a Hand out.

Jesus said, "give to the poor".

Christians are to "love your neighbor as yourself".

This is defined as "if they need your coat"... "If you see a brother in need". and Deuteronomy 10:18 says that God loves the Stranger. But it does not say, let the Stranger get a free ride.

King Saul was stripped of His crown because He was told to "kill them all" and he decided to not do it, and this caused a situation later that could have been prevented had he obeyed the order.

So, at what point do those Charity verses become "lets destroy the country with Illegals".

If you remove law and order (defund the police) and open the gates so that all the covid carrying families can come to the Gravy Train, then, someone is abusing something for the wrong reason.

Jesus, who is God, died on the Cross, looking into the faces of those who hung Him up there and were mocking Him while He was dying.
He looked down at them, with LOVE, and said....>"Father forgive them".
This same Jesus is coming back and the slaughter He is bringing to those who "do not obey the Gospel", is going to be a worldwide bloodbath.

2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9.

This is the Lamb that is coming back as a Lion.

So, its very easy to become emotionally charged by Media driven propaganda.
And because we are trying to show love, its easy to just lose our perspective unless we access with discernment and wisdom instead of only reacting emotinally.

Well gee, you have everything figured out! What a shame those store owners, who have put their lives into those businesses, don't listen to you. Strange that these things you figured out so effortlessly are not glaringly apparent to them.

It's almost like there are factors you have not considered. But no, that can't be true.

Im wondering what God has to say about shopping trolleys. Are they a God send or a curse?

Maybe something to pray about. Lord, some wisdom here!
