I have found that my new GP100 has pretty "tight" chambers. I'm finding that if I don't use the Lee Factory Crimp Die for handguns, my reloads tend to stick in the chambers, requiring me to tap on the ejector rod to break them free.
I even bought a box of factory ammo for it to test, and they all shot and ejected just fine.
The good thing is that it is apparently going to be a shooter, as long as the nut behind the trigger (me) operates correctly.
It is a pleasure to shoot, though... this was my first target of today, before I started twitching and jerking the trigger...
This was shot at 7 yards, standing, unsupported.

Great to see, it really stokes my confidence when firing a handgun that I know is very capable. Will you dare have the cylinders reamed?
8 grains of AA #5? Does that fill the case?

I have a hone that I can use, if I choose to do so... still deciding....
That charge of AA 5 is nowhere near filling. It's like using Unique. It doesn't appear to fill more than 1/3 of the empty space, once the bullet is seated.
I was looking for a moderate load to use with cast, pc'd bullets. These chronograph at 1100 fps +/-

I would say that risk is about zero.
This is a legit load from the manufacturer's website load data.
Similar to loading the 38 special with small charges of bullseye powder for target loads.

Tim Sundles explained this common issue in one of his YouTube videos on revolvers. I don't recall which one but he polishes the cylinders carefully to not remove too much metal.

He is a big game hunter and owner of Buffalo Bore ammo.

Amen! I have heard the public response was the reason for this progress.

I am beginning to get more comfortable with my S&W Shield in .45 ACP.... this was today, 7 yards, one shot at a time from the low ready position. Pull the gun up to eye level and fire....

Shield 7yd 1 shot low ready.jpg

I also shot the new SP101.... these were moderately warm .357 loads at 7 yds... 158gr plated bullet at approx 1200 fps...
